She has transformed the maintenance team and front office staff into individuals that really take pride in their work. People always like to blame others when the pool goes down, or there is a water shut off. We had similar problems when we lived in our house, truly no one's fault. Wendy also worked diligently to get us our money back when there was an overcharge for the gas bill several months ago. This resulted in a complete refund of the over charge. We think people need to get their facts right before they share untruths in a review.

I lived here for 10 months and this place DOES NOT provide peaceful enjoyment of living! From the quoted rental rate being changed after application, to harassment from the owner and tenants. All of which I have proof of from conversations that included racial remarks to entering units without 24 hr notification (there were no maintenance emergencies), discrimination, and nepotism. This company owns 2 properties that are down the street from each other, there is a clear division in the 2 properties Essex being the lower grade with persons of color being housed there and Blair house the premium property having no diversity. There were a total of 4 tenants of color in Blair house and we have all been driven out by management and the leasing agent Sid. I can only hope the previous residents of color are brave enough to speak up about their experience which is worse than mine being victims of blatant discriminatory practices! You won't get an honest review of this property from anyone because of the tactics used, now they are offering gift cards for tenants to write good reviews with their help! I have screen shots to show proof! There is a previous review posted from someone stating how shady this company is which is ACCURATE!!!! Unless you find yourself to fit the demographic save yourself the time and don't let them tell you we have new management on the property now which will help in their new efforts to make things right because the owner himself Doug is SHADY and DISCRIMINATORY! I waited to post this review while living there in fear of retaliation of my honesty, I never felt at home here and didn't even like to be seen after experiencing such negativity from the start of my move in process to move out. I was scared to even live in home in fear of the harassment, the constant changes that as a tenant we were forced into such things like being told the internet they were installing would be free and then that was added to rent and you had no choice but to pay for their internet and if you didn't they would tell you to move out

We chose The Raye for safety and convenience, but in our experience the building has not delivered…read moreon either. Parking is effectively unsecured. Gates are routinely left open, and access to the garage does not feel controlled. While we were away, our vehicle was severely vandalized while parked in our assigned, paid space on the second level, directly in front of the building entrance and within view of multiple cameras. The vehicle's window was broken and the car was spray-painted inside and out, with significant interior damage. Management later stated they were unable to capture the vandalism in the footage, despite multiple cameras covering the area. That raised concerns for us about the effectiveness of the security system. Damage of this extent suggests prolonged, unnoticed access. There are also quality of life issues. Wind noise inside the unit can be very loud during normal weather and becomes more disruptive during storms. After submitting a maintenance request, we were informed that the dryers are unvented, which explained why it takes multiple cycles (up to 3 hours) to dry a normal load. To be fair, the front desk staff have consistently been kind and pleasant to interact with. Van Aken is a great place to dine out, too. At this price point (VIP UNIT), basic security and building performance should not be in question. Based on our experience, The Raye is difficult to recommend.
