One star is being kind.
Bottom line - horrible management and organization with staff and ticket sales. Terrible LOUD noise from the air conditioning system that is actually IN THE THEATER. Terrible audio settings for the movie soundtrack. Don't waste your time here if you actually want to enjoy a movie.
REVIEW:
This theater feels like stepping back in time when theaters didn't have the available technology to offer the best in sight and sound. From the moment you step foot in this archaic theater the worn out carpet and dated arcade machines and atmosphere, tell you that you are not entering a modern cineplex.
I walked to what i assumed was the box office to purchase a ticket. The plexiglass booth was dark like an ancient tomb. I turned to the concessions stand where i saw two large groups of mothers and kids buying popcorn and soda. I thought maybe I needed to buy a ticket online instead of at a box office. As I approached I saw one of the screens above all the snacks had a listing of available movies and times as well as a list of snacks and prices.
Could they actually be dumb enough to sell snacks and tickets in the same line?
Yup. As I stood there waiting for the 5 kids to decide what flavor soda they wanted I watch the time tick by now making me late for the movie I was 10 minutes early for. I asked one of the two woman behind the counter doing nothing if I was in fact in the right line for JUST a ticket. One of the girls looked up like i was from another planet. I got nothing more than a yah.
I continued to listen to the kids fight over what to get while the mothers were busy chatting and ignoring the kids.
ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS BUY A TICKET.
I watch the poor girl behind the register trying to sell and print tickets while also taking snack orders, getting the candy, scooping the popcorn, pouring the sodas and taking money. All this while the other two girls stood there talking to each other and ignoring that there were others in line.
There appeared to be an open register for either girls to take the next group of people also waiting in line. Instead one of them started to fold small boxes to hold popcorn and sodas. The other continues to stand there doing absolutely nothing.
The first group finished their order and got their food. Then stood there for nearly a minute blocking the next group as they grabbed napkins and coordinated who was going to carry what.
The girl behind the register just stood there.
The next group finally made it up to the counter and proceeded to look at the list of snacks and discuss what they wanted.
Now I realize customers that have no self awareness to plan ahead to keep things moving are not the responsibility of the theater. However it is the theater's responsibility to organize the flow of getting patrons into a seat.
Having ONE person selling tickets and food while two other people stand there doing nothing is just insane. Anyone there to buy a ticket should NOT have to wait in line while people struggle to order food. I hadn't even made it into the theater and already I was considering leaving this poorly run and managed theater.
When i did finally get into the theater I was pleasantly surprised to see stadium seating. (I feared the theater would be laid out like theaters of decades past after seeing how dated the lobby was.)
I found a seat far from the families, screaming babies - yes there were three, and all the young kids shouting at each other and running around the theater. I chose to see a movie on a rainy summer day so I knew there would be kids. Again this poor behavior and lack of parenting is not the theater's fault.
What leads to my zero star review is the fact there is an air conditioner installed in the ceiling right by the screen. And this thing was LOUDER than the actual movie. The hum and rattle from this thing was so distracting - more so than the kids screaming. I assumed that when the movie actually started the system would kick off or something. Instead it actually got louder. It kept kicking in setting off a mechanic boom, click and motor buzzing. This is one of the worst theater experiences due to complete incompetence. Who would possibly approve to have this thing running so loud in the theater? Every other theater I've been to pumps in air from a system OUTSIDE of the theater.
Doing my best to ignore this awful noise I tried to focus on the movie. Right away i could tell the surround levels and output were not correct. The dialogue was muffled, the effects channels could barely be heard and there was no bass. The good news was the picture was okay.
Bottom line - terrible service, horrible organization and Managment, technically incompetent theater with unnecessary noise and terrible sound.
Never again. Do not waste your time with this theater. read more
