I have to be honest and say that I sort of used to be a mall rat down here. Well, not really considering that I generally hung around the city as opposed to one of the regional shopping centres. However, this is a pretty decent sized shopping centre, probably the largest in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide. There is a pretty decent variety of shops, and they have also spruced the entrance up a bit as well, including moving the cinema entrance outside of the shopping centre. Oh, and there is also a bus station that sends buses directly to the city along the O-Bahn, which actually makes the journey pretty quick (when some idiot doesn't decide to drive down it that is). Back in the days of Happy Pants, flourescent sunglasses and talking your fat mate into doing the Truffle Shuffle, there was really only one decent shopping option other than Rundle Mall, and that was Tea Tree Plaza, or TTP for those in the know. Back in those days it was a fair bit smaller than the the multi-hall extravaganza it is today. With a number of extensions and the odd facelift, TTP has been surpassed by Marion as the city's second shopping destination, but it will always be higher on the list to me! Living north of the city sees me visiting TTP more often than I used to, and although I still prefer the trek into Rundle Mall, I find that almost all I need can be found out there. Plenty of shops on offer, plus a pretty decent food court with a number of options, keeps me entertained and fulfilled on each visit. Because it is spread over a fair distance (not to mention the mini-plaza that houses Toys R Us and a number of other major shopping sites), you can find yourself copping some pretty sore quads on a shopping excursion, especially if you are comparing prices, deals or are just indecisive like me! In reality, Town is by far a better choice, but if you live out that way and can't be stuffed with the hassle and the parking (not to mention save a bit of petrol money) then TTP is just fine. read more

Westfield Tea Tree Plaza - Shopping Centers Near Me - Adelaide, SA

Ah TTP my local shopping centre. It's loud, noisy, and people will bump into you without apology. It's a quick 10minute drive away so convenience wise it is perfect. I've been going here since I was a child so I've mastered the car park. Your best bet is to park near the Harris Scarfe entrance, it's undercover and I never have any problems. Otherwise try the rooftop carpark if you are planning on staying near that side of the centre. This place has 2 supermarkets, Myer, Target and Kmart, and just about every chain store you can think of. If you are looking for something extra special or unique it's unlikely to be at the Plaza. I think I just love it because you can get away with wearing trackies whilst browsing on a Saturday afternoon. read more

Ah TTP, we used to be friends back when I was in Salisbury far too often for my liking. I think this mall is bigger than Marion, but it's more of a maze and therefore lower on the likeable level. Lot's of chain stores as Westfield shopping centres go, nothing unique about this place, just your regular indoor shopping mall which has every store you would need for a mainstream shopping adventure. Now, the car park is huge, you can get lost in the car park, make sure you take note of where you parked seriously. I guess the only thing that bothers me about Tea Tree Plaza is the people....bit of a generalisation but, trashy, Tapout, Supre wielding teenagers who are on the dole and have 2 kids. read more

When I first moved to Adelaide, my partner took me to Tea Tree Plaza to show me the biggest Adelaide plaza. I must say, being a Melbourne girl, I was underwhelmed by the selection of shops - chain after chain, very few new or interesting shops. However, I grew to appreciate its value when I realised that it has not only a Myer and Coles, but a Woolies, Target, Kmart, Big W and Harris Scarf. Really? Who could need that many department stores? Plazas normally have just one or two, and define themselves accordingly. Like, West Lakes has David Jones. That says a lot. What does this say about Tea Tree Plaza? That it's a swarming mass of shopping people, here to get everything they came for and then some, and they're not letting anyone get in their way. In general I find it an overwhelming and mildly unpleasant place to be. You will get bumped by numerous people, for no apparent reason other than they couldn't be bothered avoiding you. You'll also get approached by pushy sales people in those stalls of terror that sit in the middle of where you want to walk. Tea Tree Plaza is definitely an experience. If you have the mettle to cope, then its your oyster. read more

For full disclosure, I HATE indoor shopping malls - Westfield style, however as I required some particular hair product, only available at Hair House Warehouse, I made the trek to TTP - after being assured by a friend that parking would be a breeze. First problem, Saturday arvo, parking WAS NOT a breeze - it was, in fact, a nightmare. After FINALLY finding a park, I entered the crowded mall and almost immediately wished that I hadn't. Why oh why did I not just ride my bike to the city, or suck it up and pay for CBD parking?! People everywhere, all hopped up on suburban shopping excitement - definitely not my cup of tea. If this is your thing, by all means, give TTP a go. Plenty of the stores that you will probably need and like with the same bulk made products and bored shop assistants. read more

TTP, good for some standard shopping but there certainly are a few characters wondering around this joint. It's a rather large shopping mall filled with all your regular shopping chains and a big food court down the bottom. But big is not always better! The layout of the mall is confusing, as are the parking lots, but all in all its a good place to drop in if you can't be bothered with the hassles of the city. Late night shopping can be quite interesting at TTP. Thursday nights attract all the, how can I put it nicely, people of a lower socio-economic background. Be prepared to see some interesting clothing styles and manners. However, it's still got a great range of stores and free parking, so it does the trick. read more

With all the money spent on food court and cinemas could of added many more various clothing shops and variety of other stores like Elizabeth shopping centre. Definitely needs a lot more parking space. read more

TTP is a typical shopping centre, plenty of stores to choose from and several large shop chains including supermarkets, there are also plenty of people to bump into. A considerable food court and a cinema as well provide enough entertainment for the family while shopping as well. If you're comfortable with large places and plenty of crowds you will enjoy the variety of people you will encounter however if you don't do well with crowds, perhaps choose another place to visit. read more

If there was an option to select 0/5 stars I would. My sister and I went in to look at some makeup and were literally followed by a staff member, who made us feel as if we were being monitored like criminals. This employee wasn't doing anything productive and had no reason to keep changing aisles to follow us, but she still did. We ended up just leaving after 10 minutes, because we had such a bad experience. Then we were stopped at the door while leaving, not only to just open our bags to show we didn't steal anything, but we were asked to take items out and show that they didn't have tags on them. I am disgusted. I will not be shopping here again. read more

Very little parking. And hardly any atm machine shopping there today with my adult son .He was cold and had a jacket with a hood on .And the hood was on his head. Security followed him into every shop in Woolworths there must have been five following him .my son has a good job does not steal .meanwhile there were kids running amok. Nothing done about that.i shop at tea tree plaza every day and go a few times with my son .He felt really bad today been followed by security. We will never shop at the plaza again. I've been to Tea Tree Plaza twice but I'm really not a fan. It's located a 30 min. drive from the city (15 for me since I live in the Eastern suburbs) and very hard to miss. I'm not sure if I've ever seen such a big shopping centre. Maybe it just appears to be that massive because of the million parking spaces around (and yet it's always a struggle to find one). I think the only reason why you would go here is if you have many things you need to shop for in one day and you can't be asked to drive from a to b and so on. I wouldn't know what shop Tea Tree Plaza doesn't have. There's everything you need from the big chain stores like Myer, Westfield, Harris Scarfe to Sportsgirl, Cotton On, Tarocash, Jeanswest and I could go on and on. You'll find plenty of places to eat and more expensive shops, such as Guess or Fossil. Chemists, jewellers, hairdressers, butchers, you name it, they have it. The incredible overflow of shops and masses (!) of people is also the reason why I don't particularly like this place. 10 minutes in there and I want to shoot myself because it's loud, noisy, people constantly bump into you and every bloody baby seems to cry.
