Unfortunately, Victoria boasts a huge building but very undistinguished fish and chips. Down a side street in Guiseley with not much else for company, Victoria is one of the most unremarkable fish and chip shops I have experienced in recent times - and I've experienced plenty, which is bad news for this place. In all honesty, there was nothing outrageously bad about Victoria, I am just used to better chippies, so I found it rather below par because of my recent experiences elsewhere (Guiseley itself included). The batter was slightly soggy and didn't have that crunch that makes it such a treat, while I found the chips ever so slightly too greasy (I fear for my arteries, I really do). Don't get me wrong, I ate it all, mainly 'cos I was starving, and I'm not saying that the place should be condemned, but there's definitely better fish and chips to be had elsewhere, and within walking distance.

The service was quick, the chips were lovely and light, and had just the right amount of grease about them, and, to say its a rather celebrity chippy, the prices were right. Apparently it's not that unusual for a fish and chip shop to open for lunch, shut in the early afternoon and then reopen for tea time, but for one in such a good location (right at the top of Horsforth's Town Street) you'd expect one continuous period of business. If you can catch this place when it is open, the fish and chips are pretty nice, and they do a mean battered-sausage. The chips are usually over-fried and crunchy, the fish non-descript. Redeeming feature the mushy peas are quite nice. I have been told that the sausage is delicious (as also indicated by the previous reviewer), but it's not for me. They also sell Southern Fried Chicken, but as I have NEVER seen anyone buy it, presumably those who have either won't or can't buy again, I would not recommend it. This place used to be full of school kids on a weekday lunchtime so I imagine that's were they get a lot of trade. Again too much choice to put Long Row in the top five this side of Leeds. Give it a miss if you can.
