There should definitely be more selection for water stations throughout the farm. I saw this one older woman with a walker having a real hard time trying to make it to the cantina for some water. She barely made it but needed to stop and rest multiple times since she came from the opposite side of the property. Value was pretty reasonable for what was offered. We will definitely be back.

We visited Scarborough's Hollow Fall Fantasy Festival on opening weekend, and this was such a fun…read moreway to kick off fall! If you know Scarborough Renaissance Festival from the spring, this is a completely different experience. The grounds are transformed for fall with costumed characters, live entertainment, food, vendors, fantasy elements, and plenty of spooky surprises. Do NOT skip the Mythical Museum! We absolutely loved it. There are so many exhibits about mystical creatures to look at and read about, and our kids had a blast exploring everything. Blackthorn Haunted Castle was another highlight. It has live actors throughout, so this is a true haunted-house experience rather than just a decorated walkthrough. So much fun and very well done! There's a lot more to experience than we expected, so definitely allow yourself several hours. Scarborough's Hollow runs Saturdays through October 31, 2026, and I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for something different to do this fall around DFW.

Walking up to the entrance just as the sun had dropped, and being met with fire bursts from the castle walls. Scare actors roaming amongst the waiting patrons. Catching the freakshows and bands between haunts. Hanging around until after midnight as the park died down and people vacated. That was the best time of the night! Just walking amongst the trees and reveling in the Halloween atmosphere. Taking it all in. Those were collective memories for thousands. THEN, you big Ren Fair nerds come in with yet another "Pumpkin Patch", family friendly, smelly nerd hippie-fest that shuts down@9pm and absolutely destroys it all. I wish your venture and your personal lives the worst for ruining this.

We did see lots of beautiful Bluebonnets. It was prime viewing because they were close to peak. Those were beautiful. However, we were disappointed in the festival vendors. We expected lots of bluebonnet items to be on display from the vendors. There were very few. Now there were some nice photos but not a lot of bluebonnet gadgets. For that reason we were disappointed. Most of the vendors were those you'd see at any other festival any place in the US. The Visitor's Center was fabulous but we just expected more from the Festival.

I did taste a lot of good food and some good wine - I'm not a huge sweet wine drinker and most of the wines that were there to sample were on the "too sweet" side for me. My favorite sample was the first vendor I tasted (I wish I remembered the name of the place) but they had brought chicken, pork, and ribs. I tried them all and the ribs were definitely the best. They had the 1 Cav jazz band out there playing. They were good and it absolutely went with the feel of the festival. The biggest issue I had with this is that they only gave you 5 tasting tickets for the wine... that's 1 ticket per 1oz pour on top of a $25 entrance fee. The wine vendors and the event host(s) I don't think ironed out exactly what they were going to do. Many vendors told me that I could buy more tasting tickets but this was not true. You could buy samples directly from the vendors. I think that was a bit confusing for both the guests and the vendors. They advertised a BBQ cookoff however, I didn't see one there. I'm sure they had one but I didn't see anyone cooking. Honestly, it wasn't a well planned out festival. I think perhaps next year they'll do better with some more planning, a better wine tasting plan, and some more signs or an MC or something to tell people where to go for certain events.
