Once I made a decision to replace two furnaces, two humidifiers, one air conditioner I was given a firm quote with a start and finish date. Simon and Danny were the two gentlemen that showed up on time despite a large dump of snow. They removed the old furnaces and installed the new furnaces one at a time. At no time was our house uncomfortable during a cold period. They said two and half days. The removal, install was completed on schedule. Everything was left tidy and clean. Both Simon and Danny were very knowledgeable and courteous. Both Simon and Danny were well trained and knew the products they were installing. They kept me informed the whole time, explained how everything worked. The final bill was exactly as quoted. Well done Horizon heating. Thank you.

Dave, the owner and plumber quoted me $500.00 for labor. So Dave and his fellow showed up early morning on April 24 and replaced the parts, some points to note: 1- Although they claimed to be Rinnai trained, they did not know that burner box cannot be pulled without removing the top plate, tried wise grip pliers and deformed the collars of burner box. 2- When putting back the flame burner, they stripped one of the screws, now one of the screw is loose, still claimed that it is safe to operate the unit 3- Charged me $100.00 extra claiming the unit was rusty, unit is only 6 years old and as a Rinnai trained plumber he should know that all water appliances do get some rust. Nothing needed to be cut or drilled. 4- Gave verbal labor warranty, no written labor warranty. I had to use this company as Rinnai would only send parts to their "trained" technicians. Arpi's Industries and Romcan heating are two other Rinnai sale/service outlets in Calgary, don't know about their "trained" professionals".

I had Air Force Heating & Air Conditioning install a heater in my garage a couple of years ago. The…read moreinstallers were in a hurry and did not install the piping in the wall cavity as requested so that it would not be exposed when I eventually drywalled the garage. As I'm now having the garage drywalled, I had to hire a different plumber to relocate the piping as originally requested. The plumber identified several deficiencies: A permit was not pulled. - The thimble used was too small and should have been thick wall; they used thin wall. (I believe the 4" they used was for 2x4 walls not the 2x6 walls that I have and could be a fire hazard) - They used cut-off pieces of hanger strapping as washers with screws that were not suitable for the weight of the heater. - The unit needed to be 18" off the back wall, but it was installed 16" away. I do not recommend using Air Force Heating & Air Conditioning. The shortcuts they took were unsafe and some were against code, despite their quote specifying that all work would be done to code. Not to mention the extra costs to me to correct their deficiencies.
