I am so jealous that Western Cider is in Missoula and not my own backyard! They are true masters of cider; humans who celebrate the noble apple with most excellent offerings! It's adorable inside and all the staff are so nice! Shanay especially! She deserves a raise! A fun little brewery if you're into cider. We stopped in on a Sunday. Staff was friendly and quick with their service. They also gave good drink suggestions. It seemed they only served cider. I had the McIntosh and Poor Farmer (I think was the name). Both were light and not too sweet. They also serve meat and cheese trays. Prices for the trays and drinks were reasonable. If you're looking for a casual, fun spot for a couple drinks then this is a good option. I'd return the next time I'm in Missoula. read more

The staff here are so genuine and nice. I went for a yoga cider session and cannot recommend the experience enough. We registered for the wrong day and they were still so nice and let us participate. Mia (not sure about spelling here) was my bartender and was awesome!! I think my favorite was the McIntosh and the whiskey one. Super tasty. I also tried the colonial one and it is definitely worth the try. Traditional New England style. Like I said, mia was super informative and helpful as I was making my choices. I had a flight 15$ for 6 tastes of cider. As a single person I did not finish this ambitious flight. It was a lot of cider! But very fun experience and such a lovely atmosphere! This is a primarily amazing establishment. I'm disappointed that they would take part in the SCAM ST Patrick's day bar crawl though. While this bar was the only one that knew of the bar crawl and actually followed through on their promises, it's extremely disappointing that I spent $30 on what is essentially a host of empty promises. We were passing through Missoula and had time to kill. This place is tucked away on a side street in a strange part of town. The best part of its location is that it's near a great walking path (Riverfront Trail). Since is was early-ish on a Wednesday, we were the only people there. We got personal treatment and the staff gave us her full attention. She explained that the cider comes from the orchards nearby in Bitterroot Valley. We decided to share a flight of 6 ciders. It was fun to pick through the available varieties. The flight is reasonably priced ($15). 1. sour cherry (mostly tasted like cherry) 2. farmhouse 3. whiskey peach (tasted sort of like whiskey and then peach) 4. ranch hand 5. can't remember the name (It started with a "K" and was a Japanese family name) 6. perry (think pears instead of apples) The best one was ranch hand and farmhouse was good too. The others weren't bad either. Actually, they were all good. The building has a sort of industrial meets farmhouse esthetic. We had our cider outside in the fenced in area. It's lovely out there. Afterward, we opted to walk along the Riverfront Trail. It was a good day! read more

Wow, we love this place. We were here in sept 2020 visiting my son and girlfriend in Missoula during big time covid time and we went here due to nice outside patio/garden. This time we visited all new places but had to come back to western cider (our only "repeat" of the week). greeted by cheerful and very helpful staff (especially if you are not a cider expert like myself). very open air inside and beautiful outdoor garden to sip your sampler. Food truck looked good but we opted for the cheese plate--and got another when our relatives showed up. My wife loved the Whiskey barrel aged cider so much she got a "refillable growler" to go. We tried Western Cider for the first time today for their grand opening. The place was packed and had a great upbeat energy. The building itself is gorgeous - industrial with a farmhouse charm - and the location is beautiful, with views of the mountains and the Clark Fork River. We ordered a flight of 6 ciders and enjoyed them all. The group favorite was The Rambler (the second sweetest Cider on the menu) and Western Medicine (whiskey peach) was a close second. The staff were informative and very pleasant. Overall we had a great time tasting ciders and taking in the views. We will certainly return for more - I'm especially excited to return in the fall season, and I'm hoping they will serve some hot ciders. read more

Great ciders in a laid-back, rustic atmosphere. I usually get a sampler. I don't always love all the ciders in the sampler, but they have something for every taste and it's fun to taste the odd varieties. Last time we were there, they had a nice cheese and meat board for munching. My favorite cider is the Whisky Peach, and the Poor Farmer is available in cans around town. Recently moved to Missoula and have come back to Western Cider again and again. I had no idea you could do so much with cider. Tried, and enjoyed, everything on the menu. Especially liked the Aronia Rose and Whiskey Peach. The tasting room is airy and comfortable, whether during the day or later in the evening. We decided to try Western Cider after finding Poor Farmer cider at the store and loving it. Western Cider is right near downtown but it feels like it's completely separate. There's a nice big outside space with picnic tables and outdoor seating which was fantastic. Everyone there knew everything about each of the ciders and it was awesome. There were 11 different ciders on tap and so we each got a sampler of 6 to try them all. We really liked the Poor Farmer Classic, Rambler, and Sour Cherry. Some of the ciders we weren't huge fans of but overall it was a super fun afternoon! read more

The cider is incredibly great... there wasn't a bad one to have. I recommend getting a flight, because the little bits of each one are just perfect. 10/10 recommend visiting on a warm day.
