A mom-of-two's (a toddler and preschooler) straight-forward review -…read more Pros: 1) The playground is vast with various activities that applies to younger and older children - climbing ropes, bridge, rock climbing wall, various slides, zip line, monkey bars, etc. My younger daughter is 2.5 years old and love walking across the bridge. There are ropes to hold to but the little daredevil in her would just run across so it is important to be watchful of the child and be sure they won't trip and fall through the ropes. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There is a splash pad in between the toddler and older children sections. I am uncertain when it actually turns on. We have been twice, once at 9 AM and a second time at 3:30 PM. It was on in the afternoon and several kids were running in and out of the splash pad. It's a great option to have when it's hot and sunny out. 4) There are six tennis courts nearby and this works out perfectly for our preschooler to squeeze in a tennis session with her daddy before or after the playgrounds. Cons: 1) Not a con at all - But the playground is so vast that I can barely capture the whole frame in one picture!

The ramps are double wide so there is plenty of space for children of all ages to share the play space. However, there are separate sections for younger and older children so the young children won't have to feel intimidated. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There are slides of various sizes, rock climbing walls, flying saucer swing, zip line, assorted climbing structures such as panels and ladders, and swing sets. 4) The tennis courts are just around the corner so this is definitely a keeper because our 4-year old has begun taking tennis lessons from her daddy.

Approximately 20 years ago was the last time I stopped at this park as an 18 year old, and since then it has really changed! Nowadays I like to bring my children here. The actual park has been re-built slightly more south, with a toddler mini park as well as a bigger kid area. They have really expanded the rest of the park. There are two beautiful ponds which have fountains in the middle of each. In addition, there is a beautiful gazebo which is perfect to take pictures in as the backdrop of the fountains are perfect. Both times I have visited there have been both wedding and prom pictures being taken. There are also plenty of photogenic ducks just waiting for a photo opportunity!

The $10 saved with the community rate versus the non-resident fee works well for me! My entire family has enjoyed many programs throughout the years including basketball, kiddie college, jujitsu, football, little chefs, and even their pre-school programs. The instructors are both very involved and professional. The park district also offers acceptable rental rates for their rooms. If having a party, one is also able to add on the bouncy house or park access for a nominal fee. My children and I have been to numerous parties here, and I have even had the pleasure of hosting one. However, what does get me is their ability to satisfy customers requests for classes. I have signed my three year old up for kiddie college classes twice now. Both times, it was later cancelled due to low enrollment. Yet, the other classes offered are at full capacity with a wait list! While I understand low enrollment, they need to work on the whole concept of having to dissapoint both young children and parents who were once looking forward to the class. Possibly allow for bigger classes? I still love this Park District and I will continue to utilize their fabulous programs.

As a must…read morevisit, Millennium Park is a full attraction on its own and famously know for having "the bean" As a touristy attraction it can get crowded as everyone enjoys their photo opportunity with the huge mirror reflection of a bean at Cloud Gate with the amazing skyline in the distance. For more calmness and relaxing atmosphere at the park, you must explore the nearby huge outdoor amphitheater Jay Pritzker Pavilion that hosts great performances and concerts. Or take a stroll through Millennium Monument or Wrigley Square and Lurie Gardens Great attraction that's hustling and bustling with a balance of fast pace and relaxation to match anyone's energy and daily plans. A must visit when in Chicago!

Obviously, you have to see The Bean while you're here. It's one of the famous tourist attractions that you've seen a million pictures of, but it's still worth seeing it with the skyline surrounding it. There's also more to Millennium Park than just The Bean. The Crown Fountain is really amazing, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion is beautiful, and there are gardens, public art, and interesting architecture everywhere you look. I liked how you can be surrounded by trees and green space while still having these huge Chicago skyscrapers towering around you - that was particularly "Chicago" to me and very impressive. The park was clean, lively, and had a great energy. There were people walking around, taking photos, relaxing, and just enjoying the city. Lot of opportunities for people watching, too! Best of all, you can spend quite a bit of time exploring everything without spending a dime. Absolutely worth visiting.

Fullersburg Woods in Oak Brook is a really top notch park with excellent walking trails to suit…read moreevery walker! There's different parking lots but the one next to the Nature Center is nice as it has full restrooms. We did the riverbed trail (gravel) which was a bit short but made up for in babbling brook like calm sounds from the river. We then went walking on the Night Herron trail (asphalt) which was pleasantly shaded throughout and led up to the Graue Mill grist mill museum. I would definitely return as it's well kept up and there's different trails that cross over one another if you don't want to do the full circle.
