My then friend (now ex-friend) drove from a hostel in Idaho as we going to start our day exploring Yellowstone. I was set on getting a hot matcha latte with oat milk (something that I frequently get). The cafe was located in the back of the bookstore. They have a few tables and chairs back there. I ordered a medium drink and got a water for the day. The water was mountain spring water which is really cool. The latte was smooth, not gritty, but definitely frothy. It had a slight vanilla flavor to it, but not overpowering the matcha. It hit the spot and gave me energy to complete the day. It was tasty for sure. I ended up returning the following day to get another matcha latte. They got some pretty cool books in the peddler shop and a few souvenirs. The price was fairly cheap. I was moreso surprised that they had a matcha in Montana.

I agree with Dana, it's probably not the most magnificent thing to see in the park, but if you are…read moreinterested in tree fossils, want a very easy walk up a hill to stretch your legs or just need to get out of the car for a few minutes, the petrified tree is happy to greet you. There's a small parking area below, then a slight uphill jaunt to get to the base of the tree. It's been fenced in to protect it from would-be vandals who would delight in carving their initials into the wood. Jerks have to ruin it for the rest of us. Anyway, go pay homage to the tree. Or don't. It's not life changing.

This ancient tree is located in Yellowstone National Park in northern Wyoming, USA. It is not on…read morethe main loop roads. You have to take a road off the main road in the north part of the park to a lesser known spot where the ancient tree is tucked away surrounded by a metal fence. It might be a redwood tree or even a sequoia tree that hardened naturally into what is called a "petrified tree". It isn't scared of course.
