I contacted Frigidaire to get an idea of how much it would cost to fix, and they quoted me a $350 flat rate regardless of the issue. Considering my refrigerator cost $900 new, that felt like a lot. I decided to contact Columbine as they seemed to have a good reputation. They couldn't give me a quote over the phone without checking on the fridge (which mades sense to an extent, but I tried to get a range at least - which they would not give me), but would send a tech out. Just to look at things there was a $135 diagnostic fee, that (assuming I ultimately use them) would go toward whatever repair was need. This seemed potentially like a better deal so I scheduled a time for a tech to come out. Well the tech just left, after quoting me close to $900 to repair the refrigerator! $900 is literally the cost of the refrigerator new! He even told me that if there were other issues the cost could go up to $2000! I can't express how frustrated I am at this situation, and how absurdly expensive Columbine is. Had the person on the phone at least given me a range of potential costs I would never have gone with them. Now it's off to Frigidaire. In the end I will be spending close to $500 to fix a refrigerator that only cost $900.

After complaining I was a 20 year customer they finally gave me $25.00 back. I always thought to just deal with them, they're close, local support etc. but their time line is after 3 weeks they've finally taken apart my mower but the parts are all in a box with no explanation or close to when I might get it back. After years of dealing with them I found I would have to pester them. They're always expensive. Total power at 2 weeks is worth the drive. I found them reasonable & competitive in prices for parts and labor.

They actually lost parts from our snowblower. It took numerous phone calls just to get them to order the parts. We brought our snowblower in for repairs in mid February. When I went to pick it up on May 28th, it still wasn't done. For the delays, damaging our equipment, and horrendous customer service, we didn't even get an "I'm sorry." If you have the nerve to complain, the sales person (Danny in this case) will ignore you and simply walk away. This company is the WORST!!! AVOID THEM! AVOID THEM! AVOID THEM!

She would only give me a 3 hour window, but the technician called 30 min ahead and arrived on time after the call. The service vehicle and technician's card were actually for "Eco-Appliance Repair.com" which redirects to the website http://www.ecoappliancerepair.net It turned out the problem was that the unit was installed incorrectly. As there was no actual repair needed, he fixed the install and didn't charge beyond the reservation/arrival fee. He was organized, communicated clearly and acted in a professional manner. I give this business 4/5 stars because I think they could do better than a 3 hour window in a town as small as Lafayette and because there was no serious issue to put him to the test. I will probably call them again if I have another problem.

The $59.99 "diagnostic" fee is supposed to be applied to the repair cost, but as the guy who just left my house describes it, it's a dispatch fee and the services are marked up by that amount to ensure that everyone in the chain gets paid. Although I'm happy with the work the repairman (who came up from the south Metro area) did, I'm angry that I was misled into paying $59.99 more for it to a middleman posing as a repair company. -_- Not cool. I was lied to, on the phone and on the paperwork.
