I love nature but I don't like roughing it ;) I loved the chalet it was the perfect place to be at one with nature and have all the comforts of home!!! It's very secluded which I loved you feel like you are a million miles away from the crazy city but yet you are just a few minutes away from the grocery store and town for anything you might need. We also found an amazing place between Sara's house and the cottage where we got fresh brown eggs and homemade jelly yum we will definitely go back there next time. The chalet is overlooking a beautiful lake and is surrounded by the most majestic view. It also has a nice place for a camp fire and also a BBQ grill so you can cook there plus a fully stocked kitchen with stove, microwave, plates, glasses, utensils, etc. and a dishwasher so no washing stuff by hand. It was nice to be able to not have to go out to eat we had everything we could have needed and more!! My parents stopped by to visit and my mom fell in love with the beautiful decorations throughout the chalet it had that personal touch to everything. They could not believe how amazing it was there we all agreed it wasn't just a cabin it was a home and a beautiful one! We have tried a bunch of other places nearby but they were so dirty and musty and that's being polite!! You won't find that at the Detweiler Chalets it's more like staying at a friends house or cabin it's beyond words!!! My husband and I can't wait to go back we were so sad to leave it really is a piece of heaven! I'm kinda high maintenance as my hubby would say I'm a five star hotel and room service kind of girl but I was so relaxed and content that I didn't have a care in the world while we were there!! One more thing for those of you campers who still like to occasionally have there TV & Wifi like I do, you will be happy to know there is a huge flat screen Tv with dish network and wireless internet so if it's raining outside you can curl up inside and watch a movie by the fireplace ;)

We could walk to the business area - in fact, we could walk all over this charming small town. There are 2 units in the house. 3 of us stayed in the larger downstairs unit: 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, dining room, living room, and kitchen. The kitchen and bath were very well equipped and the dining room had lots of games, books and information of the town and surrounding area. The house was very comfortable. The penthouse in the back was basically a mansion, with a huge living room, dining room, and kitchen with three beds and 1.5 bathrooms. Wifi throughout the resort no matter where you are on the property. West Branch is a town that has everything from Walmart to all your chain restaurants, yet just down the road from this resort you can find a Pub where all the locals hang out. It's the best of both worlds as far as location. The resort is clean and you feel very at home with all the personal touches. I can't say enough about the big house. When I say big, the kitchen and living area are HUGE! We look forward to visiting this resort again.

Panelling, old carpet, older looking furniture, but very cozy. Our unit had two bedrooms, a tiny kitchenette area, a living room and dining room area that kind of blended together. The AC worked great and there was a cable Tv in the living room. It's got a cabin feel to it, but again, was very nice. What really made the place great was it's sitting right on the lake shore. Our unit was a short walk across the parking lot to the beach area. There was shuffle board, a fire pit, a playground and plenty of beach area and chairs available. There was even a couple wood swings and a cornhole game set up. The owners were super friendly. Each unit has a charcoal grill that we used. The room had dishes and silverware. A coffee maker but no filters. The beds were cozy, and the place was really quiet. Our unit was right near the main road and we didn't even hear the traffic. I would definitely stay here again, we wished we could of stayed a few days longer after only staying one day. The price was right too, I think our off season rate (after Labor Day) was only $75 a night.
