Would definitely recommend checking this little resort out. Close to the towns of Tawas and Oscoda. Only about an hour and half drive to Mackinaw City. Excellent price for what you're getting. The cottages were a little dated and very basic, right on the beach with incredible lake views. Steps to the lake, access to your own small strip of beach including lounge chairs and fire pit. I've stayed here twice in the middle of summer and it's been lovely. I chose the newer rooms that overlook the beach and it was great. The room itself is very large with a King size bed, jacuzzi hot tub with oils and bubble bath provided, a couch seating area with coffee table, a mini fridge, a coffee pot and a sink area with cups / glasses / plates and silverware. We wanted a toaster and asked for that and the owner gladly brought us one for our stay. The bathroom is nice with fluffy towels and nicely appointed. The sweetest thing though is that the rooms are all decorated in a Mardi Gras theme. It's a bit hokey, but fun. Little stuffed animals, mardi gras beads, purple tchockis all add to the stay. If you are on ground level out the back door you have your own porch with 2 lounge chairs and a table to sit and enjoy the beach. The sunrises are spectacular. Upstairs you would have a balcony. I liked being able to walk right out into the sand, so I stayed on the lower level both times. The owners are really nice, as an added bonus the wife makes a loaf of Amish friendship bread and leaves it in your room as a welcome gift. It is delicious with or without coffee. What a nice touch! There is a large beachfront area, plenty of lounge chairs, a club house, a volleyball net and other games. I definitely recommend.
