Dr. Mark Borah and his team are the best! He has taken care of dogs through three generations of my family.

I was going to let my experience go but since the Clinic decided to send us a certified letter in…read morethe mail stating they will no longer see my dog (even though we didn't plan to come back and they had to have known that as we collected our records) My 5 year old German Shepherd had a large bump that came and went, hair lost and grown back, scabbed then healed for almost 2 years. The first year we were in Austin and saw the vet many times, and sent emails with photos many times in between, Dr. Erlandson had those records. It was well recorded I believed it was a Mast Cell Tumor. We are extremely diligent in our pets health, having lost a dog of unknown reasons that same year this started we were even more diligent. When we moved back to Tyler this clinic was highly suggested. I brought her in February 2024, starting then at South Tyler Animal Clinic in her notes its noted I believed it was Mast Cell Tumor (on top of the year befores records from Austin) I asked to have her cut open to test or check for foreign objects, I was consistently told that wasn't needed. Our dog was brought in multiple times, all of course an added expense and no resolve. End of January 2025 the mass was angrier than ever and not going away, they aspirated the mass and guess what it was Mast Cell Tumor! No apologies or any sign of sympathy for the fact it's what I said all along. Luckily it came back the lowest grade but that's not the point. There is still a possibility of it coming back or having spread without us knowing yet. Obviously our main concern is my dogs health and the fact Cancer was festering in her body for almost 2 years. The cost of repeated vet visits is also a major one. We then paid for an extremely expensive surgery, they of course upselled a teeth cleaning, we agreed, she calls and says they didn't have time to complete that during surgery and the bill miraculously came out to be just about the same. I have not been rude to the staff or Vet, I have not threatened a bad review or reporting the negligence to Vet board, we even didn't complain about the surgery bill. The only complaint I made was for one of the final checkup cost as she had been in for the same undiagnosed problem many times, and that's when they finally diagnosed her, they took about $80 off that visit. The vet didn't even call and checkup on my dog at any point after surgery which is unusual as in the past vets have called to checkup on minor visits. I do not want to speak ill of the clinic as a whole because others like it here, I found techs to be amazing with my skiddish dog, also I have no idea how much control each vet has. I would not suggest Dr. Megan Erlandson, maybe there is a reason she has one of the few other negative reviews at this Clinic regarding diagnosis and bed side manner, she is a younger vet who hopefully can learn from this.

I cried all the way there, and as I pulled up I could see they were extremely busy..... I walked in and saw the little candle was lit and they were getting the room ready...., I didnt wait long before I was called into that room and I just became overwhelmed wondering if I was making the right decision.... the staff member asked if I would like the doctor to look at her and I said yes...,,, long story short, this OUTSTANDING doctor gave her a shot to stop any nausea and some fluids to hydrate her..... I apologized for taking up their time as I saw how super busy they were and not one person made me feel like I had been a pest..... they all totally understood how I was feeling..... I drove back home feeling much better knowing I had done everything possible, so if Sofie passed away, I wouldn't wonder should I have done more. Sofie slept so soundly that night and the next morning got up and ate and drank water and has been doing great ever since........ I can't say enough positive things about this vet clinic...... it is waaaay more than a Five Star rating.... I absolutely TRUST them with my fur baby and when it's time to put her down, I wouldn't go anywhere else except Tyler Vet Clinic!!!!! Best doctors and Best staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with...... I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!!!!! Honesty, integrity, compassionate not only for fur babies but for the owner, I was in worse shape than Sofie!!!! And they fixed both of us!!!!! As busy as they were, they took the time for me....... What more could you want from a veterinary clinic!!!! This is THE BEST!!!!!! Thank you all for CARING!!!!!

They told me to bring him the next day. We took him in as instructed and they didn't have him down to bring him in! I never received a call back the day before but finally did get a call on Tuesday asking for authorization for charges estimated to be between $700-$1000. I agreed without hesitation. I received a call from my wife 2 hours later informing me our cat had died! I called the veterinarian and had a conversation and she explained what had happened and was apologetic that they didn't call be back the day before and have me bring him in. I'm confident our cat would still be alive had we received appropriate and competent guidance on Monday. I picked up his remains on June 23 and paid the $127.50 bill. The only reason I gave one star is because there is not an option for ZERO stars.
