However, as I have suggested, this is an awesome pub, if only because of the Colonial India theme that literally permeates the place. It is more of a restaurant than a pub, though it does have a front bar. One of the great things about this pub though is that there are lots of little rooms which you can book for your dinner party, meaning that you can dine in private. Certainly a place to check out, especially if you are looking for a place to have a dinner party (I've done it and it was great).

Watching a new outdoor area being built, that had a sign out the front saying $7.00 Curries in Mondays* in the RajaBar. How could I NOT give that a go as it's just up the road from me. I am really glad I did. There are plenty of choices from the mildest Butter Chicken up to a 'Fire in a Bowl' Fish Vindaloo (well, they were the options tonight) Although the pricing is bargain basement, the flavours and serving size is anything but. All are served with Rice, Raita and Naan (Garlic or plain). *One stipulation is that a drink must be purchased per meal. Of course there are other options from full A La Carte (with plenty of curries) and even Brazilian Churrasco spit in the Backyard Beer Garden Available Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays. 12 noon - 10pm

Ok, I know I gave the Brickworks Beer Garden four stars, but it is the weirdest pub I've ever been…read moreto. But hey, it works. Behind the permanent fixture of the icecream and donut fixture, up some brick stairs (watch out for loose bricks), above the rubble and wild greenery that is the Brickworks, is the Brickie's Beer Garden. Inside there is a shabby old stage, some wooden tables and benches, and what looks like the dodgiest speakeasy this side of Ho Chi Minh. It sort of just an open air corrugated iron shed - hence the term 'beer garden'. Out the back is an outdoor setting with more tables and chairs under the sun. Vines wrap around the supporting beams inside and out. Behind the stage is a big hand painted sign saying 'BEERGARDEN', with palm trees and an oasis horizon. If you're there on a Sunday afternoon a bunch of elderly rockers are likely to be playing classics from beyond the grave. It's surprisingly enjoyable. Behind the bar is loads of strange ephemera - photos of performers and patrons and ancient Coopers promotional junk. Oh and some fuzzy headed bartenders. The folks here are real nice, if a bit toasted. Some friends decided they should try and play some gigs there, but talking to the staff was mighty confusing. I reckon the Brickie's Beergarden is a real find. A pleasant place with a big ole outdoor setting, deserted on a Sunday, perfect for a few beers after playing soccer at King's Reserve. There is no EFTPOS, so bring cash.

I have also visited this place occasionally, though I have to admit that there isn't anything all that flash about this pub, basically a bistro, a gaming room, and a front bar. The beers on tap are pretty standard, and it is probably more an old man's pub than anything else. In fact, it seems as if very little has changing with this place from when I used to live in the local area (though I never spent any time actually visiting the place). The bartender was a bit of a character, however it seemed as if this pub seemed a little dull. They do have live music though.

I had come by at Christmas at it was closed, but it wasn't until I returned to Adelaide that I had the opportunity to stick my head in through the doors, and I admit that I was pretty impressed. The one thing about Adelaide is that outside of the city centre there aren't many craft beer bars, so this one basically bucks the trend. In a way it is actually pretty cool, and rather trendy, for where it is located, especially considering some of the other bars in walking distance. There are some pretty cool beers on tap, and a decent beer garden out back as well. However, the thing that stands out is definitely the charm.

I'd heard it was under new management and the menu had a stack of vegan options on it. So we made a booking. Inside is cute, like your grandma is cute when she puts on a new designer frock. There's no mistaking the Lady Daly is a pensioner but damn, she's a total GILF. I ordered the zucchini fritters, my mates ordered burgers and we got sides of veggies and chips. This is better than pub food, it's made with the same love your cute, newly crocked grandma makes food with and Mandy (the owner/manager) served us like we were her only guests that night (but we totally weren't - this place is pumping on a Saturday evening). Next time you're going to a show at the Entertainment Centre, passing by on your way to the city or just hanging around on Port Rd, drop in for a drink and dinner.

It is so refreshing. If you're not looking hard enough you would easily miss it. Walk in and it's like the prohibition era, from the grungy shelves to the dark, moody decor and booths to the sad music. It is easily one of the best themed cocktail bars in Adelaide. Drinks are fantastic. Some bars have expensive drinks for not much and they don't taste great. Not at Baddog, they are top notch and the barman does it right in front of you on the bar so you don't miss a thing. Brilliant. Best find of the year for me so far.

The waist coats, crystal glasses and twisted stainless steel and silver spoons all work to make this a top spot for a cocktail or cheeky beer. A maestro of the common and rare cocktails and a range of spirits you wont find in many bars Zack makes this bar. Sitting at the bar is mandatory for the first drink in my opinion then sneak off to the lux booths for quiet and intimate drinks. Its dark, has very cool décor and edgy clean bathrooms. Bad Dog Bar doesn't have tvs, doesn't have pokies and doesn't have tap beer and for goodness sakes never order an apple-tini :) and that's the way we like it. Top Tip: order the pickleback - rye bourbon shot followed by some freshly made pickle juice. The SMoking Joint cocktail is also a fav!
