I invited a good friend who lives locally and enjoys the town's events, tonight I discovered why. Tickets were affordable at $7 with tax. Several poets and music artists came out to showcase their talents and it was well enjoyed. The popular triangle R&B band NIITO performed live and really tore the house down with their cover songs. This event was well organized and seating was plentiful. We grabbed balcony seats and really enjoyed having our own space away from the crowd. While parking is not plentiful, there are still a few lots and street parking to take advantage of. Come early, leave happy. I look forward to more events and possibly seeing a film here in the future.

There were several very sweet older ladies (likely volunteers) that I talked to about the theater and its history. The theater itself was the original in Cary and had been renovated a couple of times over the years. They have one screen that showed mostly art type films and have some live performances. I would go here if I was living here since it was a type of place that appeals to me. If you live there and haven't been I would recommend, if visiting and staying check it out.

Maybe we were being directed to the front of the venue instead of the parking lot? We waited in line for a long time before realizing that we were in the "preferred parking" line (where we'd have to pay $15) instead of the free parking that was a bit further away. Since we didn't want to be late, we paid for the parking :) There were plenty of free spots available, so that was nice. The walk to the ampitheatre was actually really nice and shaded with big tall trees. There was a front large lawn area and then a covered seating area with tables and chairs set up behind it. There were a ton of people, especially on the lawn, but we snagged a table in the corner and had a decent view of the stage. I was then sent off to grab popcorn for the family. They had a bunch of different lines for concessions, which included a variety of snacks and drinks, including beer :) Hurray! My line moved pretty slowly and I had to wait for fresh popcorn to be made, so it took maybe 15 to 20 minutes to actually get my food and get back to my family. The show sounded OK - I think it was a little quiet, but there were kids present so that kind of makes sense. I think it would have been nice to have screens so that people who were sitting far away could see the performance better. We left shortly before the end of the main set (our son was getting tired and/or bored) and traffic was fine getting out. Overall, it was an OK time. Parking was a little stressful and it felt a little hectic inside. I'd maybe come back here to see a performance if I was super into the artist, but I don't think the venue itself is really a draw.

The staff is friendly, they get refills out quickly, and will help you find the TV you want if it takes you a minute to find your game. The food is OK. It's the same menu as downtown, but for whatever reason I don't like it as much here. The sliders and wings are typically my go-to. I straight up did not like the cheesesteak I had here once, it was bland and kind of tough. I've hadn't tried again though, so it's possible that was a one time deal. I do see lots of people order them. They have lots of very good and very dangerous speciality shots on the menu. Their website says that as of February 2026, Woody's Sports Tavern & Grill in Cary and Morrisville have separated from the downtown location.

If you're trying g to go on a holiday or weekend, you may not want to take a chance. However, we save about $15 for three tickets buying in person for a Tuesday night in January. This year, I overheard someone say, "It's like walking through Avatar." I think that's a perfect description!
