I needed help because I was already late to file my tax return. I was referred to Bloomfield CFO…read morewith the promise of a "highly skilled, hands-on" experience. What I actually received was an expensive lesson ($$$$$$!!) in how a tired, outdated firm handles its internal failures at the client's expense. Bloomfield is slow and disorganized. They manage complex filings through fragmented email threads and legacy systems. Their website is old and generic. The most disappointing part is their lack of professional integrity regarding timelines. After I provided every document they asked for within eight days, they were incredibly slow to file my late tax return, taking almost two months. I asked for updates numerous times; their team admitted in writing that they were balancing my urgent return with other clients' projects they deemed more time sensitive. There was a one week delay in responses due to rep being away on a trip... if you go on a trip, hand the service/comms to someone that will be active. They also cited unexpected team member changes and a server migration that did not flow as smoothly as anticipated as reasons for the delay. When I brought up these issues, the owner, Rich, responded with long and condescending emails. Instead of taking accountability for his team's admissions, he tried to gaslight me with "fixed fee" jargon. This was all over a SINGLE tax return filing, btw. I am glad to have terminated my incredibly expensive contract with them.
