Special was 1/2 pound cheese burger and fries. Hard to say no to that. Burger was very juicy and cooked perfectly. Bun was toasted and I was surprised by the fresh lettuce and tomato. A step above the standard bar burger. Fries were crispy and hot, not soggy at all. Waitress was very friendly and helpful even to an out of town face. Never had to wait for my iced tea to be refilled. I would highly recommend Jugs&Suds. Don't let the name scare you off.

I think we probably ended up here because of the word "Jugs" in the title. This is not, I repeat NOT, a titty bar... although it would have been more fun if it were! This is one of those places that serves fried pickles with ranch dip, country music blares in the background, and beer flows freely. I can't complain at all about this place. It was actually kind of fun. It's certainly not anywhere I'd go if I weren't in Onawa, but alas, I was!

There's a massive bar and digital menus that were hard to read. It's fast-casual style, so you order at the counter, which I wasn't expecting given how many menu options there were. I ordered the BBQ burger, a Monster Cookie shake, and a mix of sidewinders and potato barrels. The clear standout was the potato barrels--basically cheesy, bacon-topped hash brown tater tots, and so good. The rest was a bit underwhelming considering the hype. I was expecting the shake to be an actual monster cookie flavor (oats, PB, M&Ms, etc.), but it ended up being a Cookie Monster theme with Oreo. The burger was politely... nothing special. I get the appeal--especially for families--but I was hoping for a bit more based on what I'd seen online.

And it's comes with a side of country gravy just like chicken fried steak, how could I not try a special burger like that.... And I was not disappointed! It was wonderful, so juicy and flavorful, with the breading surrounding a hand made patty, dipped into that thick, got peppery gravy.... So, so, so good. My wife chose the mushroom Swiss Burger and tots. She couldn't finish the whole burger, it was a big Burger with lots of tots, so I got to try it. She had be reaching about it all the time we were eating, as was I about my burger, and I wasn't sure I could eat the small little sliver she had left but she gave it to me to try and, wow.... It was really as good as what I got. So much cheese and mushrooms, and the burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned. If you find yourself out near Fremont Nebraska, close to a one horse town named Nickerson, with a bar and grill named the One Horse Saloon, stop and eat.... Don't pass this place up. Btw....as we were getting ready to leave, the couple next to us ordered ribs, and I almost say back down for another meal. So many great choices.... We have got to come back here.

They do have a food menu but for convenience we ordered a burger that they were grilling and selling outdoors. I can only comment to the women's restroom, but they are fantastic! Each stall is completely private and well maintained! Always nice! I boated there over Memorial Day weekend, and while they did have bands it was nice that there was no cover. Who does that?!? Just another refreshing part of this newer establishment. They did add gas on their docks for boats which they didn't have last year. Fantastic except on this particular day anyway they did not have dedicated docks for boats that needed gas, but rather they would drag the gas hose over other boats to get to the boat that needed gas. Meanwhile the boat needing gas had to hold on to other docked boats to keep it steady while filling up. Hopefully this will not be a practice they continue as it seemed a bit dangerous and annoying for the owners of the docked boats. Their RV campground seemed full and nice, although it will be even nicer once the newer trees grow enough to actually provide some shade. Welcome back Cottonwood Marina!!
