When I needed to get some C-41 35mm film processed, West Photo came through! First, I had emailed them to make sure they were able to do C-41 processing in-house, and they promptly replied and provided some pricing. They're located next to Surdyk's--yay parking lots and having quality spirits and cheese closeby! When I entered, I saw the store was larger than I imagined. I would certainly come here when/if I need to rent or buy camera and lighting equipment in the future. I was greeted and someone swiftly filled out an order envelope for me. Everyone I encountered was wicked friendly. I was told it would take a few days to develop and print my order, but I never got notified that my order was finished, so I just went back when I could. Great prints for a good price! It cost me $28 total to get two rolls of film developed (with thumbnails) + matte singles printed. My ol' manual Nikon and I are happy so far!

This spot has been a great resource for me for developing disposable camera film and learning more…read moreabout cameras! I originally came in here with a camera I inherited from my gpa. The staff took the time to tell me all about the camera, what film it would take, and even taught me a bit about its different buttons and such. They helped me pick out film and a new battery for it and feel comfortable using it for the first time. They were patient with a camera newbie like me and ready to educate. I have also developed disposable camera film here, and it's been affordable and easy.

This is one of the last true old-school camera shops around. If you love photography, it's worth a…read morevisit just to see rows of gear you won't find in a big-box store. They carry new models from most major brands (no Lumix), plus a rotating selection of used cameras. Beyond bodies and lenses, they've got all the accessories--bags, lights, filters, film processing, straps, batteries--you name it. The staff know their stuff, no question. The only catch is personality: sometimes you'll get an excellent, friendly expert who really listens and helps, and other times you'll get someone who seems disengaged or uninterested. When it clicks, it's fantastic. When it doesn't, you walk out frustrated. Prices are mostly fair but not better than what you'll find online. Their "sales" on top-tier cameras usually match industry discounts--not deep bargains. Returns are tricky: you technically get 30 days, but with a 10% restocking fee. On a $4K camera, that's hundreds lost. If you're unsure about your purchase, consider buying from Amazon or B&H for added safety. Trade-ins can be hit or miss. I've had surprisingly fair offers, as well as others that were laughably low. One camera they offered me $800 for, sold the next day for $1,400. Another time, they lowballed a hot-ticket Fuji X100VI at $800, saying there was a glut of this model. But they had a waitlist for the same model. Store layout could also use work--cameras are in cases that get blocked whenever someone else is being helped, meaning you can stand around 20 minutes just to peek at the gear. UPDATE: My last transaction with the company has led me to question their integrity as a business. I returned a used Sony A7R V that they sold to me as new. They charged a $320 "restock" fee, and they refused to return the camera I traded in for the transaction. In total, they kept nearly $800 from the transaction. They gaslit me about it. My media company has business accounts with four vendors for gear, and we've never had a situation this lopsided. Please be vigilant about details and documentation when buying from them. They can take advantage if you don't. You should always be fair as a customer because business is about relationships. But also realize that not all companies have that same ethic.

They offer basic and pro image scans, the difference is that pro image scans are color and density corrected while basic scans don't have corrections. Basic scans for size medium is $11/roll and pro scans for size small $15/roll. For that price, I'd suggest going for the pro scans in size small if you only need to print 4x6 photos or need the photos for posting on social media. They have sample scans of the same photos in store so you can see for yourself the difference between the scans. More info on pricing here https://www.fastfotofilm.com/fastfoto-film-lab-order-form.pdf If you wish to keep your negatives, you'd have to go pick it up. They will keep it for 30 days before throwing it away. You also have the option to pay $10 to get them mailed back to you. They have some film stocks available in store but the prices are significantly higher here compared to other retailers. I just wish this place was closer to Minneapolis, though, since I take public transportation.

Not only is this photo studio DOUBLE the price of its competitors, but the customer service is…read moreeven worse! You will most likely be charged shipping charges as the studio sends many orders to be done by someone else. I was charged for 13 photos and only received 8---2 of which had the heads cropped off. I tried working with the manager(owner) on several occasions, but he was ridiculously difficult. I spent $250 on an order that would have been about $125 at most at Shutterfly. Buyer beware!

I cannot believe I'm the first person to review this adorable little photo lab…read more Contained within a drugstore in Whitebear this is one of the ONLY film labs in the twin cities by me that develops film and gives you back your film strips. When developing film through walgreens and cvs it can also take weeks to develop none the less get your strips back at all. Price is honestly fair enough considering when you bring your film to a large drugstore and send your film off to who knows where, the time it takes, the higher cost and you don't get your actual film back? Nah. I'll come to Suncolor photo for all my film needs from now on. Also they sell film! I bought a 5 pack of Kodak Portra for much less than you can find on amazon. I'm excited to see my film developed and keep shooting! With time I will be opening up my own photography business that shoots mainly in film! This shop will be essential for my needs. Also Staff are all super nice and helpful!
