After waiting many weeks for them to complete development of my 35mm film I get to their store for pick up and return home. Guess what I find? Photos that weren't MY photos but instead another customer's photos! The CDs that I ordered had some of my photos, and then some photos from another customers! If you value privacy of your photos, if you value your memories and don't want them to become lost or taken home by another customer, then I would recommend you never use Linhoff. There was no apologies, discounts offered or compensation for the mistake at all from any Linhoff employees and it took another whole month before I ever got my corrected photos from them!! If you've made such a huge mistake with a customer, you would think they would expedite the service to get it to you same day? It does not take long to do it all, they even did it in 20 minutes when I noticed that a print was missing and mentioned it to them in store. Unfortunately I could not check the CDs at their store, so I didn't know the photos in the CD was wrong until I got home! I'm not sure why Yelp deleted my original post on this? I didn't even have any curse words and I didn't say anything that didn't actually happen. I have the receipts, CDs, and the other customer's graduation photos still if anyone wants proof of this story. Be glad to share! read more

Unbelievable how poor the customer services is. They have no concept of communication, how to be effective at that jobs, knowledge of photography. This is a business for people new to photography whom are ignorant regarding it. In addition there incompetence they asked me to keep calling back to see when my film is available 'Because it is hard for them to call people" One stop into this amauter scam shop and you will demand your overpriced, low quality, poor serviced photos be refunding or just read this and go somewhere more competent like walgreens computer kiosk. read more

Customer service at Linhoff is awful. When they couldn't find my order, they questioned what I'd brought in, when I'd brought it, and whether or not someone had truly called me to say my order was ready. No apologies when they found my order, which they had misplaced. I think technical expertise is okay, but Linhoff employs socially clueless, rude, misogynistic people. read more

I go to Linhoff Photo for all my photo printing and photo project needs. I've bought many photo mugs and prints/enlargements over the years and everything has been high quality and promptly completed. Customer service is top-notch and the people working are helpful and personable. Would recommend to anyone! read more

I brought in a photo of my husband in his army uniform from 1975 that had lost it's color and small details from the sunlight coming through our windows. Sally completely restored the colors and details. She researched the color of the uniform, the colors and pictures on the patches, and the wings on his uniform. She removed unnecessary background objects as well. The photo is restored to its original look! Sally was great to work with! I highly recommend Sally at Linhoff Photo! read more

My neighborhood photo shop, Linhoff has been around since the mid-1950s, and has been doing amazing work with photography since then. A small shop on the corner of 44th and France in South Minneapolis, Linhoff specializes is printing photos, enlarging and scanning old photos and finishing photos. I've got to admit that my photography knowledge is pretty limited - I've only used Linhoff for enlargements and scans - but what they've done for us has been fabulous. Our family has gone to Linhoff for about a decade now, using this photo shop and it's friendly staff to make copies of old family photos, to scan and enlarge very small photos and to create family photo books that link us to our heritage. I haven't much appreciated this service until this past year, when I saw some of the old photographs I'd taken to Linhoff for my family. They were collected in a small book of photos put together to show the history of our family. The photos all looked original, and the book was an amazing look into our history. Linhoff is one of a dying breed: photo shops like this one are going away as we transition more into a digital world. But, Linhoff still has a place in our community - and they're still amongst the best. read more

I've been spending the entire summer trying to get some cool lomo cross processed photos and here is the place to take your film. They have all the old processing machines that most places have gotten rid of and you can get your film processed & scanned for $10 a roll, all on a CD. I haven't gotten anything printed here yet though. They can also do 120 film if you have a medium format camera, they dont have to send it out like most places. *They don't sell much film!!! which is a bummer because i have to go to National Camera Exchange to get my film, then back up to Linhoff to get it processed. National Camera Exchange cant cross process my slide film! Linhoff prices were great, their hours are not. They are off the beaten path and are only open til 6. read more

Great from a distance. I've only been to Linhoff once, but I use their online services for pictures quite a bit. We had a friend do the photography for our wedding and he gave us all the pictures at no cost. Another friend recommended this place and she was right. I upload, they print and ship right to my doorstep. The quality is great and the system is very easy to use. I will continue to use Linhoff anytime I need quality pictures. read more

It is disappointing for me to write this review, as I had been a loyal Linhoff supporter for many years - developing many rolls of 120 mm film for reasonable prices and good quality. My last few experiences have been really, really disappointing. I took an original photograph of my grandparents from their wedding day to be reproduced, and it was lost for several weeks. It was devastating as I found out a few days before my wedding and had to tell my grandmother. Eventually it was found - but caused a lot of unnecessary stress and showed a lack of care about one-of-a-kind originals. To make it worse, the reprints were incorrect. The customer service was very poor as they were apologetic but still charged me for the incorrect prints and sent me on my way with a "we hope we'll find it around here somewhere." I had to call several times to speak to the owner and try to get my money back days before my wedding. I decided to give them a second chance with some rolls of lomography film from my wedding day. I brought them in and was told they'd be ready in a week and I'd receive a phone call. Two weeks passed and I did not hear anything - so I stopped in. They did not have any customer service representatives working on a Saturday and the two women working were unable to locate my film, though they had receipts that it had been sent out and came back. Again, there was little reassurance about them finding it and I was sent on my way with a "hope it turns up." Eventually they found out that it had not come back yet - but again it was devastating to know that photos from my wedding may have been lost in the shuffle. Finally, the film came back and had been underexposed. They printed them anyway and charged me $20 for a bunch of black photos. It seems like a small owned business would take a look at the film before it was printed and call a customer to see if they still wanted prints made. Overall, there has been a real slip in organization and customer service. If something goes wrong, I trust a small business to do the right thing and make it right. In both instances the issue has been solved but I have never once been reassured they are making it a priority. The place also begs for a more sophisticated filing system and training of employees. No one ever knows where my film might be when I go in. Sadly, I will be finding another place to develop. read more

Felt I was over charged for the copying of my small photo album. It was left for at least two weeks and it was not done until the am I came to pick it up. I had to wait in the car while they did the copying that morning. I regret having taken it to their store. Prior experience at the Edina site was 5 stars compared to this disorganized work site. read more

I have been a customer of linhoff photo for many years. I had them do my graduation picture printing, have had photo canvases and other gifts made. Wonderful customer service and products. I had our family movies on a VHS and wanted it transferred to a DVD. I took it to Linhoff and it took almost 2 weeks to get it back and when I got it the first part of the VHS was not on the video. Granted it was only a few seconds but those few seconds contained viable images. So I took it back and this time I got the DVD back in a few days but the start of the DVD is not my family pictures -- it is from the TV show "Modern Family." Obviously a used DVD was used. For the cost and trouble would it be asking too much for a new DVD. Plus the start of the video wasn't all there but it was better than the first time so I gave up and took what I got. I've always had nice results with their photos but I'll never use them for any other service. read more

If you want to process your film and get it screwed up this is the place to go! I've had rolls come back "With nothing on them" when I know the entire roll was exposed correctly. I've had slide film come back processed either cross-processed or processed in black and white, but it clearly wasn't processed E-6 like it should've been. I have lost far to many good photos because these people do not take care of your film. They don't know their own prices and often will over charge you. They say it will only be a few days to get your stuff back, that turns into weeks with no contact from them. Awful place to get your film processed or any other photo stuff done. Find some place to mail your film to. Screw Linhoff. read more

I had a treasured "colorized" family photo that was about 90 years old and had been in a convex frame for decades. I was looking for someone who could scan the photo without flattening it out because it needed to go back into its original frame. The photo did not need any restoration. Just scanning and copies. After calling around, I finally found Linhoff. I was told to come in so they could look at the photo. I brought it in on Saturday, November 11 and was told that it was an easy project and would be done (with colorized copies) the following Wednesday. I should add that I had a really nice, professional young woman assist me when we dropped the picture off. Wednesday came and went and no word. With the holidays around the corner, I forgot about it until a few weeks later. I called the store and was told that it would be done that day. We went to pick it up and it was not ready. Hadn't even been started. We were told to come back in a few more days. We went in and the copies of the picture were really bad...they didn't look like the original at all and had a greenish tint all over. This went on for a couple more weeks and right before Christmas, we picked up the copies and the original. No explanation of the delays, no apologies, no acknowledgment. I'm giving them 3 stars because the first employee we dealt with was really nice and helpful and in the end, the copies of the picture were pretty good and I'm grateful to have been able to get scanned copies made for other family members. However, I felt that the overall customer service was poor. I'm totally patient and willing to wait (and pay for) good work, but to have to chase down answers and be given multiple completion dates and then have no one address the issues? I'd rather give my business to someone who at least cares about how their customers are treated. read more

A really great family owned place. Amazing service and very reliable! They are probably one of the oldest photo finishing places in the country by now (everyone else is out of business. I got talking with a couple employees and they all had been working there for like 10-30 years. Also known as "Linhoff Photo Finishing?" I thought i would review both. Great place, much better quality prints than walmart and they can pretty much do ANYTHING for you. Wierd specialty photo stuff is no problem prob the only place in town that you can get it down. read more

I have been going to Linhoff, my neighborhood family-run-since-the-fifties photo processing spot for many years and have spent many thousands of dollars there. Since I am one of the few people that still shoots film, there is always something wrong with my order - scanner lines, mysterious dots all over the photos, insanely low-res scans, or they are all backwards(!) - basically, they still have some fancy film processing machines (they recently quit doing slides - no!!!!) but they do not maintain their equipment or train their people properly and I always end up spending a lot of money and feel bad about complaining about the below-par results. I would have given them 2 stars if they hadn't given me really top-quality, amazing color prints in the past. read more
