Doctors Debnath and Gregorio in particular have been wonderful. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. More than that, they recognize our dogs which makes a big impact. The building was recently repainted and outfitted with new windows, furniture, and exterior doors. We can call with a random question and receive help without even having to come in sometimes. It's such a relief to have a caring, caring, experienced, professional and kind vet to rely on. I highly recommend.

Dr. de Wet was thorough, caring, and so compassionate. Unfortunately our girl passed from cancer less than two weeks later. After seeing her only once, Lucks Lane sent us a sympathy card upon her passing and we were so touched at their thoughtfulness. Recently we found a tiny kitten and again, Lucks Lane Vet Clinic had availability when our clinic did not. Dr. de Wet was very thorough and genuinely kind-hearted and caring. She truly cares about her patients; she answered all of our questions thoroughly, and we did not feel rushed. I would not hesitate to utilize Lucks Lane Vet Clinic again.

However, a recent experience left me frustrated and is the reason for my 2 star review. The office recently implemented a policy requiring deposits for appointments, which is perfectly understandable. My issue isn't with the policy itself, but it's with how this situation was handled. At a recent vaccine appointment, my dog needed a required follow-up visit for a booster to his vaccine. That appointment was scheduled before I left the office, but no one mentioned that a deposit was needed or asked me to pay one at that time. A few days later, I received a voicemail from Carolina saying my appointment would be canceled if I didn't pay the deposit. It felt like I was being threatened with cancellation over something that was ultimately the office's oversight. A simple "We forgot to collect your deposit when you were here" or even an apology would have gone a long way. To make matters more frustrating, it's nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone. Calls always go to voicemail, and you have to wait for a callback. Unfortunately, our schedules never seemed to line up, so we ended up playing phone tag. In the end, I had to drive to the office just to pay a $20 deposit for an appointment that they scheduled while I was already there...(DUH!) If deposits are going to be a requirement, there should be easier ways to collect them. Sending an invoice by email or allowing online payment would save everyone time and frustration. I still think this is a good veterinary practice and will likely continue bringing my dog here because I've been happy with the care he receives. However, the communication surrounding this new policy needs improvement. This situation could have been handled much more professionally, and staff could be a lot friendlier. I'd like to add that when I came in to pay my deposit, whoever was at the front desk was very curt (didn't catch her name unfortunately).

My fiancé had an easy time setting up an appointment on the phone. They even sent a text reminder about the appointment the week of. We decided to go together since this was our first cat in adulthood. The veterinary nurse was beyond kind, complimenting Prosciutto (our cat). She was super gentle and tested to see if he liked Churu (a squeezable cat treat) for the appointment. When she was done weighing him, we waited probably less than five minutes before Dr. Sara De Wet came in. Dr. Sara was incredible. Her bedside manner was beyond amazing. She took the time to educate us about our cat, any future health concerns that could arise, and to answer my plethora of questions. She put on "cat music" (we learned that vet's proved that classical music in vet settings can calm a cat) to help him with his nerves. She complimented him in the cutest ways for being brave and food motivated. He was obviously a bit on edge in an unfamiliar setting, but Dr. Sara was so gentle she made the process as easy as she could. He had a regular check-up and got two vaccines. I highly recommend taking your pets to Scott's Addition Animal Hospital.

As soon as we checked in, we waited less than a minute and were brought back to a room and the exam started. Our vet tech was incredibly friendly and seemed to know all the tricks to get my nervous dog to calm down and settle in the exam room. My dog jumps a bit when he gets worked up, and unlike my previous vet, no one here got upset with him or with me for his behavior but seemed understanding which made me feel significantly more at ease. Our previous vet would require my dog to be muzzled because of his size and breed. This usually just caused more problems because my dog has never been aggressive or bitten anyone and the extra restraints just caused him to get more anxious. Here, no one has ever suggested muzzling him, and even managed to get his toenails clipped without any issues. Once again, I was never pressured into getting any kind of service and was offered literature on all the vaccines we updated. Dr. Duval was incredibly patient in explaining all the different vaccines and the follow-up needed on a new vaccine we opted for. In addition, they provided me paperwork for a rebate on the medication we got Trigger for his flea/tick/heartworm. Overall, I am happy to recommend Countryside to all my friends and families with canines.
