I passed this laundromat on my way to the Habitat for Humanity hardware thrift store called…read moreReStore. I doubled back to do my laundry there after shopping, rather than going to the laundromat that I had planned to go to by the pharmacy I regularly visit. This is a weird review and it feels weirder to have to write it, but one that stems from confusion and frustration. I pulled my vehicle in to back up and unload a giant laundry bag from my cargo gate. As I was retrieving it I thought maybe I should go in first and check it out before I drag that big bag and my detergent out. Will I need quarters? Is this a digital-only laundromat? Can I afford the machines? Is WiFi available here? I went in and saw only two customers so right away I thought, okay Covid/Social distancing safe. I looked at a machine to get an idea of cost and then I looked around for any coin dispensers, signs of rules/regulations, etc. All of a sudden a tall man with glasses on walks by and glances at me. We greeted one another and he just starts into me! My intention was to let the management know I'm new in town and this was my first time at their business doing laundry and I wanted to know how it works. He was very rude, and made it painfully obvious that I wasn't welcome at his laundromat. In fact, he came out and said, "you should go handle your business elsewhere." He accused me of coming in just to take all his quarters from his machine. I tried diligently to explain my truck is right out there with a big laundry bag in it that I didn't want to drag out until I was certain that I'd be washing my clothes there. The more I tried to convince him that I had no clue what he was talking about, the more rude he became. He started bragging about how long the business had been open and how well it was doing. Huh? Just me looking at the coin dispenser seemed to incite anger in him. I even went out to my truck to open my cargo door and show him the laundry bag and detergent. While I was outside I looked into the window and I could see him trying to engage a young man that was staying out of it. He was instigating to a customer that had no interest in this confusion at all. I brought my items on in to start the process, just figuring everything out on my own until I realized I was really not welcome there at all. I picked up the bag and just said to myself, "I guess I'll take my business somewhere else." I felt degraded and dehumanized. Being mixed race and the type of person that can blend in and be friendly with anyone, I try not to jump to conclusions without substantial evidence. I'm not confrontational nor am I hostile. I do like to communicate clearly and be understood though. But was I discrimnated against? Was he in a bad mood, perhaps from an encounter prior to my arrival? Or is he just an asshole who is rude to everyone who is new to his establishment?

I was there…read moreearlier today and there was a taller skinny white man who I assume was the manger or owner because he couldn't stop bragging about how they're getting new machines and how they have the "best prices around" even though they're extremely overpriced. But the main reason for this 1 star is what he said to a young woman trying to get quarters. She must have had her laundry in the car while she was getting the quarters, but he immediately went up to her and started aggressively telling her she has to go to the bank and that she wasn't welcome. Then once he realized she didn't speak the best English he then went on a 5 minute rant IN HER FACE saying that she needs to learn English if she wants to be in America. He also talked a whole bunch of nothing taking about Biden and taxes, and said "this place is for customers for her and me" as he pointed at me...I'm white. She was very confused and looked extremely scared. Luckily there was another man there who knew Spanish to translate that was she trying to get quarters for laundry, but the manager completely ignored him and wanted no solution, he just wanted her out. And it was VERY clear it was because she's Mexican. The manager then had the nerve to try and apologies to me for having to "hear that" as if he wasn't the one who caused a scene. It's embarrassing for him, and it's very clear he's a racist. If you're not white you're not safe here.

He also engaged me in conversation and showed me a feature on his machines that allows customers to eliminate coins and dollar bills by using an app and loading funds to it. It's a feature any smart and savvy business owner would employ if they're concerned about coin machine abuse, or if they want to be competitive and cutting edge in their operations. This app is called PayRange and operates through the use of Bluetooth on your smartphone. You physically start the machine but after that it's all technology. You are given an elapsed time showing how many minutes remain before the wash cycle finishes. It will show you which machines are being used, and using the laundromat at certain times warrants special savings determined in the app. And the best part, I had PayRange at the apartment building I just spent the last 7 years in. This app is on my phone with an account that is still active. This place is clean and a lot larger inside than it looks on the outside. There are soda and snack machines for your use, and a neat little cafe area with restaurant-style benchs and a couple of full-size arcade machines. The machines were pretty fast. I think 24 minutes for the wash cycle, and 8 minutes for the drying. Washing varies in cost from $3.50 upward and dryers cost .25 cents per cycle. Oh, and the dryers are very hot. Depending on the thickness of your textiles and the volume in the tub you're not going to be feeding these dryers with many quarters, which makes this very economical! It was a pleasure to visit this place and get something done that I had procrastinated for so long to do. And needless to say it served as redemption from the laundromat visit that preceeded it. That's for sure!

When I went in Wednesday at 1 pm to pick it up they could not find it. Came back at 430pm they found the suit pants and the shirt. Still missing the coat. While we were there the found the coat. Said it would be ready in 30 min. We came back a hour later still not finished. Waited till it was finished as I needed it the next day. The lady behind the counter was super helpful and stated she just started Monday as the other 3 people working were no longer there. The owner was called at 1pm regarding the issue, when we were there to get the suit the last time and still waited for her to finish it up she informed us the owner was going to be there in 5 min but of course he never showed!! What makes this worse is when I dropped off the suit it was prepay so I had already paid for the suit to be cleaned!!! No offer of any refund as we went to purchase another suit as no y knew where ours was!! Ownership here should be ashamed for throwing someone into this not knowing how to do this and not watching the business properly. Needless to say we will no longer visiting this business again!!
