There's a pizza oven visible in the semi-open kitchen and a great vibe. Food-wise, we skipped past the starters and went straight for pizzas. The menu is a decent size and offered tomato and non-tomato bases. We chose their plainest pizza with buffalo mozzarella and then customised one of them so I ended up with pancetta, gorgonzola, truffle oil, porcini and regular mushrooms. The pizzas were delicious! Chewy but light dough, wonderful toppings, totally lovely. We didn't feel they sat particularly heavy on our stomachs either, which is a good thing! The tiramisu can be skipped. Overall, a great place and a happy discovery for me. Just make sure you book because it's super busy!

After a long day at work, I trekked down the quiet side of Chiswick to Thames road for a late bite. I was seated upstairs amidst couples and groups of friends, next to a corner fireplace. From this vantage point I could see the entire upstairs dining area. Candles and roses are on every table and the decor is eclectic yet romantic - a love theme. Annie's shepherds pie (a special on my first visit) and a side of broccoli hit the spot. A few nights later I tried a more basic fish and chips, plus a pear, green bean, and shallot salad. The fish was flakey and battered perfectly - not the sloppy pub stuff you find elsewhere. The salad was refreshing. Finally, I've also enjoyed the halloumi burger. It's thick and well-executed. Substitute sweet potato fries or a vegetable for the chips if you want something a little more nutritious. Despite arriving just before closing time on most of my visits, the staff is always helpful and enthusiastic. Even on cool nights, the heat from the kitchen warms the upstairs, so be ready to de-layer if you're dressed for the cold. It's cozy! The love theme extends to your post-meal survey card, which reminds me of Valentine's cards kids give out in school. Maybe the love theme explains why I fell in love with Annie's.

The office canteen usually only rates slightly higher than hospital food on the hierarchy of…read moretastiness. Most are on a par with schools, serving up the kind of artery hardening slop that would make Jamie Oliver cry his organic, low fat tears. Not so ITV. Their programming may be aimed at the average pizza gobbling couch potato, but their food is a cut above. The canteen is well stocked with a variety of meals - changing on a daily basis - that, if served by a man with distinctly trendy stubble on a slab of granite, rather than a plate could give the average gastropub a run for its money. It's not all basics either - the fish dishes are particularly good, and portions not to be sniffed at. After all, if you've got a tough day ahead commissioning a show with Peaches Geldof - you're going to need a hearty meal. Lets talk coffee. Not much would be done in any job if your average office drone isn't well fueled with caffeine, and ITV knows this. Hence, there are two Starbucks coffee machines that are completely free to use. Free Starbucks - whenever you want it. Well, almost - the machines are pretty popular (It's FREE) so expect a bit of a queue. The only other problem is how you get in to this canteen without going through the rigorous process of getting a lovely media job. (nepotism and sexual favours probably) We suggest you find someone who works there and tag along. That or become a reality TV star. Might involve selling your soul - but hey - free coffee!
