I've used this company three times in the past 18 months for private pet cremations, each time…read morearranged through the in-home euthanasia service I trust and deeply appreciate. Until now, the convenience and care they offered made the difficult process a little easier, despite the cost. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with picking up my beloved 12 1/2-year-old dog, Koa, was very disappointing, and I will sadly be looking elsewhere in the future. When the driver arrived to transport her, he unrolled a transfer mat onto my clean bedding that was visibly soiled from the previous pickup. He quickly apologized and replaced it with a clean one from his vehicle, so I let that slide--mistakes happen. The bigger issue came at pickup. I was unexpectedly charged an additional $21 for the mahogany urn because, according to the receptionist, the company had recently changed (suppliers?) and now charges extra for that option. She showed this was noted on the form I signed at the time of service. While it may have been in the fine print, I was not verbally told about the change or the upcharge, when I paid him for everything else (at the time of service)--something that had never happened during my two previous experiences with the exact same urn selection. During that moment, I was crying, didn't have my glasses, and was in no state to scrutinize paperwork. I trusted the process would be the same as before. Had the driver simply explained that the included urn was now different and that mahogany carried an extra fee, I would have happily chosen the standard one (which I actually prefer and think is prettier). Instead, the new "mahogany" finish is noticeably different and no longer matches the three previous mahogany urns I have from this same company. I ended up paying the unexpected fee because I just wanted to bring my girl home and they are almost an hours drive from my house-I didn't want to come back. However, I am very disappointed in the result. The woman working the front desk that day was new, incredibly kind, and clearly wanted to help, but she wasn't able to waive or resolve the charge on the spot. I'm truly saddened that after 4 services (in total), this is how my relationship with this company ends--over a $21 surprise charge that could have been avoided with a 30-second conversation during an already devastating moment. The convenience was meaningful to me, but trust and clear communication matter more.

I coordinated Loving paws with tranquil passings. (The vet from tranquil passings was fantastic…read moreso this has nothing to do with them, I would use them every time that was a great experience.) We had coordinated the times between each of the companies so that when the euthanasia was finished loving paws SHOULD have been there to pick up. After waiting for an hour we started calling them. Craig finally called back 45 minutes later. This was excruciating for me to have to look at my beloved cold dead dog laying there with no more life in him. When they finally showed up 3 hours after scheduled, Craig looked like he just got out of bed in sweats and floppy boots, very unprofessional, said their van broke down. I asked why no one bothered to call us and let us know. No response. Never apologized just picked my dog up on a stretcher and left. No compassion, no offer to do the foot print, etc. (luckily the vet that had come out did it). Then after 2 weeks no call on the ashes being ready to pick up. So I call them and they say he has been ready for a week and that they had called us (they didn't). Will not be using them again. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I've been in the unfortunate position of having to euthanize three cats in the past 8 years…read more Granted, the cats were 24, 17, and 15, but still, the circumstances were all terrible. My recent experience with Dr. Valerie and her assistant was better than I could have hoped for. My previous experiences were with two different vets in Los Angeles, both in bright, uncomfortable clinic rooms with panicked cats. I vowed to find someone this time who could come to our home and assist our cat with making a seamless transition across the rainbow bridge. Dr. Valerie made that happen. She was flexible and genuinely empathetic. My cat was comfortable and she had a peaceful death. In-home euthanasia was the way to go, no regrets.

During a recent visit with family in Spokane, our beloved 16-year-old dog Lulu became gravely ill…read more Though we live in Reno, NV, we travel to Spokane every year, and this time, sadly, it became clear that it was time to say goodbye to our sweet girl. We found this incredible service online, and in the middle of the night, they came to our aid. From the moment they arrived, they showed immense compassion, tenderness, and respect, not just for Lulu, but for our entire family. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, but because of their kindness and care, we were able to give Lulu a peaceful and loving farewell. The support they provided before, during, and after was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The thoughtful touches, the handwritten note, the paw prints, the urn, and their heartfelt communication, meant the world to us. This is an incredibly difficult job, and yet they do it with so much grace, empathy, and love. We are forever grateful to them for helping us say goodbye to the best dog a family could ever ask for. Truly, they are some of the kindest and most compassionate people we've ever met. Dr. Valerie and Will, Thank you for giving us, and Lulu, the most beautiful goodbye.

Beware of this business. My husband and I had a deeply traumatic experience with two staff members…read morefrom this clinic Tuesday, August 26 during the passing of our beloved 13 year old goldendoodle in our home. Staff were completely in over their heads, were unable to manage a peaceful transition and were grossly incompetent. After a 45+ minute long appointment, multiple rounds of sedation (for our sweet dog who was already in process of a natural transition when they arrived, they didn't even bother to check her vitals upon arrival) and attempting to inject two different rounds of euthanasia medicine unsuccessfully in 3 different limbs and ended up injecting her in her kidney (we think), I do not know that our dog did not suffer. Our entire experience before, during and after the appointment was unprofessional and the communication was and continues to be terrible. And to the person at the clinic who told me on the phone to "park next to the dumpster" when I went to pick up our dog yesterday to take her to the crematorium in Spokane myself: wow, that level of compassion was unbelievable to top off an already horrific experience. We will never set foot in that business again. Update Sept 3, 2025: multiple staff at VCA North Idaho Animal Hospital have called me and we have had honest conversations around our experience. My family is grateful to the clinic for the follow up. Our experience start to finish was a domino effect of problems, miscommunications and inability to manage the situation that led to the 1 star review. The clinic staff seem sincere making some changes as a result of our feedback, however we will choose to go with a different provider in the future.
