That was a while back so when we were back in town and it fell on the day, it was a given to check it out. But unfortunately the first time that we were going, they had to shut it down to the crazy wind that was happening. Now, the past month, I've been at least twice already. It's held downtown along Palm Canyon Drive for a couple of blocks. Streets are closed for vendors and visitors. Thursday evening from 6-10 pm and 7-10 during the summer months. Village fest, featuring arts, crafts, food, entertainment and shopping. Parking available in the covered parking structure, outdoor parking lot or street parking. Mainly where you would park if your walking around downtown minus Palm Canyon as it's blocked off. Loads of vendors both with retails as well as small businesses are there showcasing the goods. You have loads of arts and crafts, jewelry, apparel, gifts, artwork both sculptures and prints. Baked goods, amazing pastries, cookies and bread. Walking along the strip, at both ends tends to be where the food trucks are. One end usually just have the ice cream truck and another dessert truck. While the other will have all your favorite. Bbq, Mexican food, Filipino food, and so on. Actually quite a nice selection of food. They have some seating set up but majority tends to just either stands or sit along the curb. It does get pretty busy with people checking out the vendors. It's also nice that the stores along the strip stay open as well. Crowds are alway nice and mellow as everyone is there for the same thing. Loads of family and couples out and about. The vendors are alway so sweet. Everything displays are quite fun. Some things are a bit on the higher priced side but still nice to check out. Theres always live entertainment in the middle keeping the mood lively. We like to have dinner and then walk around to check things out and pick up a couple of baked goods for home. A fun Thursday night out and about in town.

During the lavender season, the tickets are a bit pricey alongside parking. The farm itself has numerous activities to do, picturesque moments, and different foods to try. My fiancé and I have attended the lavender festival three times already, so we knew what to expect. We avoided the foods we didn't enjoy last time, and tried new items. We ordered their carne asada tacos, croissant beignets, their peach sangria, and more. If you're planning to come here, I'd suggest eating beforehand, because the food is not good. Their tacos are dry; the meat and the tortilla feel like separate entities. Their croissant beignets on the other hand were absolutely phenomenal. It's exactly what you'd expect and it was amazing! Their drinks are good here, too. I had their lavender margarita which was absolutely perfect. Their peach sangria can be better. They sold bunches of lavender in their gift stores and you had opportunities to take photos with their lavender in the fields. It was a unique experience overall away from your usual city life. I don't think I'll come back again. I've been three times enough, and it's generally the same. I'd recommend trying it once to see what it's like, and that's all.

I think I'd much prefer not paying for parking or for admission! I'm writing this review after attending their Mother's Day weekend preseason festivities. Parking is paid for alongside your admission ticket. It was free on Mother's Day as long as you paid for parking. It wasn't room bad, but the gravel and dirt road isn't friendly, so beware. There are plenty of things to do while at the farm. They have plenty of food and fun things for the lavender festival. The Farm itself has a hotel, sourdough area, perfume class, a matcha room, and two bars you can sit and drink in. I'm giving it the stars that I am because I'm not a fan of their food. Their drinks here are decent, but I feel as though the workers here are burnt out. It's definitely packed on every corner with a lot of people. Even when taking photos with the lavender, it's busy and a bit overwhelming. It is a lovely concept overall, and a nice experience away from the busy city.

I think the Glow Up event was really cool, especially since you can walk around and under the balloons. It has a great vibe and it's free. Glow Up is a dance event? I don't think so. If it were, there would be a dance floor. That said, everyone walking around, chatting with strangers, taking cool balloon pictures, and enjoying the awesome weather was great fun. Great music, but the Mayor's welcome speech had a dead mic. I'm sure whatever she said was good. There are good restaurants around, I'm partial to Desert Thai, but there are other options that are all good. Roost has good cocktails and had a singer that was blowing it out. What I like is that walking between the two Blow Ups, San Jacinto Rd Miguel Casino and Cathedral City, there was plenty of space to not feel crowded out. Everyone seemed welcome. Families and couples, of all orientations, meandered and got along. Not just got along, actually enjoyed hanging with each other. This amazing event was free. Hard to complain about anything, when it's completely free.

It's a beautiful outdoor event spread out with lots of walking amongst the artist tents. There's a quaint pond in the center, food truck area with some limited seating, clean VIP trailer restrooms, and beverage and snack tucked away all around the area. Tip- wear a hat, sunscreen and comfy shoes. You'll be outside the entire time, walking mostly on grass and some pavement. But let's get to the fabulous array of artists! You'll encounter the artists themselves and most seem to enjoy sharing their stories and talking about their passion. Fabulous jewelry, paintings, sculptures as well as clothing and accessories. You feel so inspired and in awe as you peruse the event. Most artisans were from the Pacific coast but I noticed some from as far as Florida and New Orleans. Paid parking in the civic center gravel lot made it easy to get right in, and plenty of volunteers to guide you throughout the event. When making a purchase you are given a ticket to turn in before leaving to curtail theft. I loved this event and hope to come back someday!
