Tom happened to be in my neighborhood with the company car one Saturday, and my husband and I took the opportunity to get more info on driving lessons. Setting it up was a breeze over the phone with Judy. After my daughter's first lesson with Tom, she told me it was the first time she'd felt comfortable behind the wheel. She had 2 more lessons where she learned all the skills needed for the road test. She practiced in a parking lot, drove in the neighborhood, then on the main highway, and on her last lesson, Tom even took her on the freeway. I'm happy to report that after 3 lessons, she passed her road test. Scheduling was a bit troublesome with trying to find something that fit into his schedule with school, but we got it done. They cut you off while explaining you situation and even if you have years of sobriety under your belt they continue to do things to prolong your stay in the program. As someone who had to go through the program multiple times during my youth, they absolutely don't care what you have to say. Seeing as they are the only game in town, there really isn't anything you can do except let them be rude and take it. I've met so many people in recovery who do actually care.
