He's had a speech delay and has had his academic struggles, so he's always had an aversion to team sports, and has even voiced that he's felt "different." We've tried to put him into other baseball and soccer when he was 4-5 years old, but he was never drawn to them. He instead preferred solo sports activities like swimming and martial arts, namely because he could progress at his own pace, without the added pressure of competition. Through a friend we met Coach Marty and it's been a blessing ever since! He has a way of easing kids into the basics of the sport, even if they've never played before and if they are shy and introverted. He's made it a fun and stress free experience and now my son LOVES the game. My son has been training with Coach Marty for about 6 months, and he went from being scared to even kick a ball with other kids around him, to running and passing the ball, shooting goals and avidly seeks to improve his game. He looks forward to every practice and cheers on his team mates. It's not just the exercise and basic soccer skills that he's taken away from this program thus far, but rather the build up of confidence, the sense of teamwork, and the enthusiasm for healthy exercise that he'll be able to use for the rest of his life. If you've got a kid that feels "different" or is shy, I'd definitely check First Step Soccer out. He or she is bound to learn more than just the game, and that's the real reward.

Has many of these back to back. You can come and watch a game or even several. Even though these are mostly the soccer fields, other sports can be played here. It's also good for lacrosse. These sports each have similar fields, just having to change the nets. Cool area to look around and hang out after a game. The fields are located between the two old windmills. Also close to the ocean so after a game go to the beach. The Chalet has a restaurant with mostly seafood if you get hungry. Happens to be among many places in the park to play athletics. It's located in a pretty nice area of the park. This is also close to the old famous windmills.

On our last visit, we happened to need the restroom and pulled in The soccer fields to use them. This location is by far the cleanest public bathroom I've ever been into in San Francisco. There is also plenty of parking in the lot and although we came on a day that was drizzling, there were still people out using the fields. We actually ended up staying here for 20 or 30 minutes because there is a nice view of the windmill and the fields are very well taken care of. It's just another lovely little underrated spot in the park and as I looked out onto the fields to watch the people practicing, I can only imagine how amazing this location is for for official events and local leagues. It's great to be able to visit a city that truly cares about its residents and always be able to find new and amazing things no matter how many times you've been here.

When he…read morefirst started working with him, my son had very little formal training experience and had only played a handful of rec games. His goal was to work toward making a competitive team the following spring, and with Coach Eusebio's help, he was able to do that. What has meant even more to me is the growth that has continued since then. Coach Eusebio is incredibly encouraging and supportive, while also setting high expectations and really wanting each player to improve. My son has developed a strong desire to work hard, train, and keep getting better, and he has also grown in areas like discipline, confidence, and leadership. You can tell Coach Eusebio genuinely cares about the kids he works with and is invested in their development. He even took the time to come watch one of my son's games, which really meant a lot to us. He has also been very accommodating and easy to work with from a logistical standpoint. Scheduling has always been simple, communication is responsive, and his regular training location is very convenient and well set up for the sessions. We are very grateful for everything he has done and the impact he has had on my son.

Five stars for the gorgeous track. Zero stars for parking chicanery…read more Parking is available but you have to pay (which is fine). The parking machine requires a minimum of $4, which buys you 2 hours. **There is no way to cancel and get your money back.** If you, for example, start putting in singles and then decide, "Nah - I don't want to pay that much - I'll go somewhere else," you might think you could "cancel" and get your money back, since that is how pretty much any other payment machine anywhere works. Nope, your singles are gone. Forever. The machine says "no change given", but I didn't notice anything saying, "no refunds". Instead of your actual money back, the machine will spit out a "refund slip", but that's a joke - you can't turn it into actual cash, only a credit against future parking. And, to get even that paltry credit, you have to go in person during business hours to visit the SFSU Parking and Transportation Office. Who's going to do that for $2?! Not me or anyone else with a job. Upshot: Came once, thought the track was super-nice, but the parking experience was so chintzy that I now am actively annoyed at SFSU, an institution about which I used to be completely neutral. Nice work, SFSU Parking and Transportation Office. Hope the $2 is worth it.

I can't remember how many splinters I got as a kid, or how much sand used to follow me home, but happy to report not a single splinter and sand sitch with my kiddos! *knocks on...plastic* Here you'll find pirate ships, swings, and slides that make you go super fast. Don't wear leggings- you will fly off! This park is super cute, spacious, and best of all... clean!I love that they have accessible ramps onto the play structures and there's more than enough space to play with others from a safe distance. This park is located in a residential area, but also offers a pretty good size parking lot. There's 4 seater benches and table sets, and lots of green grass for a picnic.

There's a baseball field and a seesaw, slide, etc. Plus, the parking is convenient and I never had an issue with finding a spot. The bad- The rubber turf is falling apart. There are so many holes that my toddler keeps tripping and falling on them! I can't tell if other kids are just ripping them up because the holes are larger than the size of my hand or because they keep falling into them too. This is a big safety issue and one of the main reasons why we don't come here as often anymore. Another unfortunate thing that happened was we witnessed a fight here (amongst adults) once on the field and it was weird. They were also bbqing and brought their own grill. Not sure if that's even a thing you could do here but yeah...definitely felt uncomfortable!
