    Class field trip!
    Keen B.

We came here for a class field trip. Crissy Fields is very close to Golden Gate Bridge. There is actually a pier under the bridge. Nice beach area. People bring their dogs here so I be careful were you walk. . They have a decent bathrooms. It also has a shower area were you can clean up and wash the sand off. They also have a designated area for you to clean your dog after there done running around in the sand. Plenty of free parking.

Nice open space, plenty of parking (not free). Must have nice views of the Golden Gate when it isn't submerged in fog.

Of all the times I've been to San francisco, never really got to take in the views. Love that the beach area is dog friendly and the dogs all seem super happy. First time here and it did not disappoint. I think everyone should come here at least once. The perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Couldn't get prettier than this.

Crissy field is an area that encompasses a grassy lawn, peaceful beach, and a marsh area. The field is great for dogs, and there are events held here sometimes. I like how the grass here is green all year-round while out of the city the grass on the hillsides gets dried up and yellow during the summer months. There's lots of dandelions, little daisies, mustard, and pineapple roots as well. The area has all around beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The lagoon is good for bird watching. You can continue with trails up to the bridge, Fort Mason, or through the Presidio. For a list of more SF hikes and walks: https://bit.ly/43PhQtL

This is the scenery at my doorstep. I often pass by here for my morning run. Many people come here to travel every year. I also like it here. I come back here for a stroll every time I have free time.

Location. Location. Location. Some of the most amazing views of the entire city from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Bay Bridge to Alcatraz to Center for performing arts and the skyline. Add a little bit of fog, the beautiful Pacific ocean and lots of seating and you got a fantastic hiking and picnic spot.

I came her today after a stressful time at the Orthopedic surgeons office. It was nice to come here for a walk on the beach by myself and process my thoughts / brain dump some stuff that I've been holding onto. It was enjoyable to bask in the views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bay, Alcatraz island and listening to the waves, the wind and dogs barking and playing with each other. Sometimes I need the solitude of being alone to sort things out in my head and this was a nice spot to take a walk and think things through.

Foggy view of the golden gate during a golden retriever dog meetup

I visited for the first time to attend a golden retriever meetup and I was pleasantly surprised! The whole area, the neighborhoods around here and everything are beautiful and clean. It seems like a very affluent part of the city. I was surprised the parking lot was large and parking was free!! Big plus there for me because I'm used to whenever I go into SF, struggling to find expensive parking the dogs played around the beach which was extremely dog friendly. There were a lot of people around as well and some nice walking paths it looked like. We ended up walking all over the area surrounding Crissy Field and are looking forward to coming back.

Crissy Field is one of my favorite places to go when I visit SF with my dog and having lived in CA my whole life, I have probably been a hundred times or more. I really love how beautiful and easy it is. There is almost always parking and people are there to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are tons of off-leash dogs for your pup to play with and most people are friendly and clean up after them. You can also see lots of windsurfers and water enthusiasts. On a clear day there are really lovely views and it's very walkable as there is a cement pathway along a good portion of the beach. SF can get busy and expensive and Crissy Field is a great place to take a moment and really enjoy what the city has to offer.

If you're looking for THE shot of the Golden Gate Bridge, this is where you want to go. The spot in the presidio is wide open and has lots of parking. We headed all the way to the end where there is a long dock and a warming hut with drinks and National park gift shop. There are picnic tables and lots of open beach and green space. This is a perfect spot for an afternoon out to enjoy the bay and the gorgeous view.

The best Texas style barbecue plate I ever had. INSANE!

One of the best barbecue areas in the whole city. The open space with a view to the bay is priceless. You just feel so free and relaxed, like a vacation. And most importantly make sure you're around cool people.

There's plenty of parking in the lot as well as near Palace of Fine Arts. For those bringing tourists, you get a nice view of both Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. You can also walk around Palace of Fine Arts that is nearby! It can get pretty windy so make sure to bring a jacket. There's a large field where dogs can run around and you can watch or join people who are wind surfing.

This was at the park! Took some friends to go on a picnic :3

It has a nice view of downtown SF from far, of the Golden gate bridge, of the bay area, and of the Alcatraz.

It's close to a library. It's the perfect place to walk, jog, lie on the grass, and people-watch. Did I mention there are dogs? I'm not normally one to recommend spending too much money, but you could do much worse than picking up overpriced sandwiches, chips, and drinks from nearby Gus's, walking to Mission Creek Park, and making a picnic out of it. There's no readily apparent--wink, wink--easy parking nearby, but lucky for you, there's plenty of public-transit access. There are many things I hate about Mission Bay as a new neighborhood, but its park game is right up there with the best of San Francisco neighborhoods. Now if only the esplanade area (north of Mission Creek Channel, between 3rd & 4th Streets) were part of this park, it would be perfect.

The park itself is very grassy and nice to sit and chill and read or just people watch. Lots of people bring their dogs here. I love being around water and the calmness it brings. It's a nice break from the classic tourist SF waterfront. For a walk it's about 1.5 miles for a loop up to the ballpark and back to the houseboats. I don't like this much as a loop since it's a little industrial for a bit when going under the freeway area, so I tend to just walk through the park across the bridge and back. For something longer, you can add China Basin Park and the Bay Trail to Crane Cove Park. This is better for someone that lives around here or already doing something in the area. Parking on Channel can get very expensive on a meter if there is a game going on at nearby Oracle Park. For a list of more SF hikes and walks: https://bit.ly/43PhQtL
