Wetzikon, ah... Wetzikon. Not exactly a culinary center, but today I was more than pleasantly surprised. West 36 is a small restaurant that occupies what looks to once have been a train depot--and the food is pretty friggin' awesome.
West 36 offers not more than 5 dishes each day. The food leans heavily in the Italian direction--with a zesty Swiss twist. If you are scouting out a great lunch spot in Wetzikon (and, honestly what are the chances?) I highly recommend checking out West 36.
The service: attractive, friendly and attentive. Prices where reasonable: 22.50 CHF for a salad, pasta dish (wow, was it good--both pictured above) and beverage.
Parking looked to be tight, so arrive a bit early to beat the rush. Also, reserving a table is recommended, as it was packed when we left. read more
