They have the best meat around. Definitely worth a trip out to Scottdale. Good, clean meat.

Who knew you could get things like camel, emu, kangaroo, ostrich, python and many other exotic meats right here in Pittsburgh! They even have them in a variety of options like steaks, patties and ground. They also have a nice selection of jerkeys. I have yet to try any of the more unusual meats, but I've purchased beef and chicken products from them. The quality was high and the items were very tasty when prepared. Service was wonderful. We were greeted promptly even though their was a line and the staff moved efficiently while still taking the time each customer needed. Prices are higher than you would pay at a store like Giant Eagle, but the slightly higher prices are absolutely worth it.

A ton of selection here, overwhelming even! Wasn't too busy on a weekday afternoon, and the line…read moremoved pretty fast. I came in for jerky as a friend recommended, and the staff helped me choose some popular options. Apparently the hot one is the coffee beef jerky. I also grabbed some pepper buffalo, and pepper teriyaki beef. Flavor-wise, this stuff is packed with it, so thumbs up there. This is probably personal preference, but my gripe is that the thinner pieces are so tough it takes forever to chew. It's fatiguing! I guess I'm used to thicker, softer jerky. One other knock is that this place smelled...bad inside. Seems like product quality is fine since it's so popular and well-regarded, but I'd recommend addressing the smell. Maybe that's just what happens after decades or storing and selling meat in an enclosed space?

If you have a chance to visit this farm, do it! The tour experience is $9 per person and worth…read moreevery penny. You start the tour with a little bit of information about the farm and it's history. You then proceed to the automated milking machine area. It is fascinating. Totally automated. The cows choose when to enter and the machine takes care of the rest. It automatically washes them, connects, milks, analyzes quality and amount of milk and then completes the process. During the tour we saw three different cows get milked and were able to ask a ton of questions. After viewing this portion we entered the barn where all the cows currently being milked are. It was fun seeing their different personalities through how they interacted (or didn't) with the visitors. They even have cow massagers! Next we saw the calves. Some were born as recent as last week. Then came the hayride. It was a 20ish minute ride through the farm's beautiful property. One of the farm's owners was on with us to answer questions. I think the highlight for everyone was the tasting at the end. Each guest is given an individual container with several varieties that we tasted in a particular order. My favorite was the cheese curds. My daughter loved the pepper Jack and my son loved the pizza cheese. We also sampled the quark cheese spread (which is kind of a combination of cream cheese and goat cheese in texture and flavor). The tasting was completed with their chocolates which are stuffed with their quark cheese. Amazing. When the tour was completed we were free to visit with the cows again or make some purchases. Such a great experience that I highly recommend to everyone!
