Nobody wants to go to a walk-in clinic, in fact, nobody has ever found joy in going to a walk in clinic, but here I am, writing a review for one on the opposite side of the country. I was in New Hampshire visiting my parents when an extreme case of vertigo decided to punch me right in the face. I'm going to spare the details of what was wrong with me and focus on my experience dealing with the Wentworth-Douglass Express Care. I came here around 9AM on a Monday and the lobby was pretty dang busy. I was able to get checked in right away and after spending around an hour in the waiting room, I was walked inside and given a private room. The nurses I spoke with were all super friendly and the same can go for the doctor who helped me. The staff seemed super knowledgeable, patient, and very willing to work with my "communication issues" making for the best possible experience (out of a bad situation). I spent a total of three hours between taking medicine, doing random tests, and trying a few different things out. Overall, the Wentworth-Douglass Express Center treated me very well, and that's something I very much appreciate. Did this place fix the problem? No, but it's something they could fix so I'm just cool with the fact that they were understanding, patient, and helpful. If you need urgent care and someone to guide you in the right direction, this place can help. read more

If you want to be billed twice and have them only send one of the two bills to your insurance and the other to collections if you don't pay for their mistakes, this is the place for you. Urgent care charges around $900/visit. Not worth having your credit impacted because they don't bill for both parts of their service (sitting in the waiting room and then another bill for the doctor). $354 doctor bill was never sent to my insurance and when they finally did bill, it was past the collectible date range from my insurance. So the money hungry Wentcrooks Dollargrab Lacking care sent it to collections. read more

First, I have "good insurance". It's the "gold plan" purchased for me by the companyI work for. I came in with a longstanding sinus issue. After speaking to someone not a doctor (can't recall the acronym she was assigned), I finally convinced her I needed antibiotics. The visit took about 40 minutes and I picked up the generic meds. Nothing related to billing was ever discussed or explained to me from Express Care. I simply was told to have a nice day and left. The meds cost me $70. I got a bill from the express care $50. Then, a few weeks later, I got ANOTHER bill for $75 from the parent company. How long should we put up with this sort of extortion from the healthcare companies? I went to the Urgent Care place in Lee NH for routine bloodwork. They had to make a phone call to the doctor to get the order emailed over, but they assured me they got it and proceeded with drawing blood. Then they must have fumbled the paperwork somehow and never did anything with the blood sample. They have no record of the visit at all. I called the supervisor over at the hospital in dover and asked for an investigation. Apparently they just throw the blood sample away if there is any confusion about the paperwork, without calling the doctor or the patient or anything. I would not go back to this place. read more

Lee Urgent Care only had a 5 minute wait. Hannah, the MA was incredibly friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Judith did a great job with my blood stick and Julie (MD) was an EXCELLENT provider! The initial check-in process was easy, just put types our names on the kiosk by Urgent Care and we were called back in no time; Probably helped it was 7am! The desk staff is welcoming and cordial and accomplishes the initial intake process promptly. The medical staff asks appropriate questions and listens attentively to your described symptoms. The nurse and the doctor were both extremely professional and informative they took their time they listened to my concerns and they truly gave me the feeling that I was the only patient they had and that whatever I had to say and what was going on mattered to them at that moment more than anything else. Thursday, Nov 15th, went to Express Care with suspected allergic reaction to poisonous plant presented by rash. Experienced recurrent episode 6 weeks ago; and irresponsibly a half dozen previous times in my life. I was diagnosed with possibly shingles and given prescription for Famciclovir, commonly used to treat or prevent herpes infections. Dr.Vanderline also recommended a followup with a Dermatologist. Seacoast Dermatology was able to accomodate immediate app't on Friday when rash was worsening. Examination led to 'script for Prednisone, which I'd anticipated resulting from visit to Express Care because of history I shared. Thanks to Express Care for recommending a specialist, I am receiving proper treatment to arrest this episode. read more

Without exception, every time I go to Express Care, everyone is polite competent and eager to help me with whatever my need may be. They are quick on the registration side and the wait time for their specialty services has always been short. My adult daughter went to the Lee Urgent Care 2 days ago. She had hurt her hand and went there for a possible x-ray. There was a small crack in a small bone in her hand. The Urgent Care placed a splint, after much discussion and instruction to the person placing the splint. She was told to follow up with an orthopedic specialist as she would need a full cast for at least 6 weeks. They wanted to get a blood sample, after 3 tries they were unsuccessful. My healthy, normal 20 plus year old daughter had uncooperative veins. Today she went to an orthopedic specialist who placed a much smaller splint. She was told she may need it for about a week and could take it off to shower. It seems very wrong to scare a young woman about an injury and treatment when they were very unsure of themselves and wrong about their assessment. read more

The people here are so wonderful and kind. They care about me and work very hard to provide the best care possible. My primary care doctor routinely sends me here for backup services; blood draw, X-rays. I was there yesterday (Saturday) to see if that crunch was something important. After less than a minute wait, I was checked in and my specifics reviewed. The doctor was in a minute later and after some discussion (and poking) I was X-rayed and yes, I broke a rib. Great instructions and follow up plan. I'm on the mend already! I am lucky that they are here and am sure I'll be back many many times. read more

I have been here many times and have usually been happy with the treatment. I went today because I knew I had a sinus infection and was feeling terrible. I have a history of sinus issues, and surgeries which the nurse recorded at my intake. A P.A. saw me and did a quick exam. He said 99% of the time these things resolve on their own and he would not be prescribing an antibiotic. I told him I would like an antibiotic because when I've had these in the past I always need one. I have asthma and have had pneumonia twice in the last 5 years. I asked him to please review my history. He was unphased and seemed to be impressed with himself for defending the overuse of antibiotics. I fully understand that by over prescribing antibiotics has led to antibiotic resistance. However, this doctor was not interested in my medical history, only what he saw in front of him and his opinion about antibiotics. I was very upset and left. Thankfully my primary care has weekend hours and they saw me. They gave me an antibiotic. read more

Rte. 125's best kept secret! I've come here on a handful of occasions, been seen very quickly by knowledgeable nurses and doctors, treated and given a follow up care plan and out the door I go. This has always been a significantly faster urgent care facility as compared to those chain facilities. They also have some happily unexpected features... like a video screen with your last name and approximate wait time (never had to wait more than 10-15 mins), a coffee station, a mini-stereo for patients on the ready for use, and get this... a USB charging station. I don't NEED it here, but it's great to have. How many of us have been waiting for an hour or more to be called to register, then another long wait to be seen by a nurse, then longer to be seen by a doctor, then waiting for discharge... and your phone runs out of juice... KUDOS to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, and the Lee Urgent Care facility for taking into consideration things patients may appreciate while under your QUICK care. read more

Went to Lee Urgent care with my daughter on 2/2/19 for a bad cough (with blood in the phlegm), high fever, (102.9) trouble breathing, vomiting and chest pain. This was actually our second time there. The first visit being 1/31/19. First visit she was diagnosed with a flu like illness. Second visit was because she was not doing any better with pain/fever reducing meds and was in fact, getting worse. Second visit we get Dr. JV. I suggested an x-ray, because my daughter is very susceptible to pneumonia and has had it a few times before. Dr. JV's response was a very rude, no. I don't hear any wheezing. If I heard any wheezing, that would be a reason for x-rays. I pushed a bit more and brought up the gross green crud she's been hacking up mixed with blood, fever etc. Still not concerned enough for xrays. Not convinced this guy knows what he's doing, we make a trip to the ER, get xrays, and wouldn't you know it, pneumonia. We've been very happy with Lee Urgent care in the past, but I will call first from now on and if that Dr. is there, we will go someplace else. Dr. JV, you may be a DR, but you need to listen to your patients (and patients moms) because we know our bodies best. read more
