Over the weekend I Came down with the worst case of poison ivy and I knew all day I would need medical attention to beat this one. Because of my tight schedule today, I wasn't able to take a moment until the end of the day. Thought I might be able to get into my primary care physician for help , but never had a chance to even call the office.I had had a good experience once before this year at Dover Express Care, when I stopped by for a eye irritation. Realizing how late it had gotten to be, I decided to give them a shot today. I showed up at 4:30PM at Wentworth-Douglas Express Care and checked in at the entrance express self registration terminal . Literally seconds later , they called my name and completed my registration info. Within 5 minutes , a nurse brought me in to the exam room where I saw Kathryn Wadleigh, the nurse practitioner and nurse Laura. Kathryn examined my rash, confirmed the pesty malady and gave me a prescription along with lots of helpful advise to deal with my condition. I was in and out in 20 minutes!!! Hours later, I fell immensely more comfortable and I was able to finish out my day's activities. Shoulld have gone in much earlier. Great service! Helpful advise. Very pleasant experience. So apparently Dentists only work emergencies Monday-Friday so when my tooth infection hit an all time bad on a Saturday (03/23/2019), I had no other option but to head into Express Care in Dover.. I wasn't expecting much seeing how I needed dental assistance so I just assumed that I'd be seen by a doctor who would prescribe me an antibiotics and then send me on my way home.. But it's true what they say about "what happens when you ASSUME" because just sending me on my way without attempting to help, wasn't good enough for them. Now don't get me wrong, the procedure that needed to be preformed absolutely was hands down the worst pain I've ever felt and with the way society is these days, it may actually be considered torture, LOL J/K... I am beyond thankful that they went the extra mile and help relieve a whole bunch of pain. Not only did they relieve the pressure that built up in my face from the infection so I could finally sleep but they made it possible for me to actually wait comfortably until the dentist opens on Monday. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone who is in need of not only medical assistance but maybe a slight dental band-aid to get you through the dentists bankers hours.. I have been to the Wentworth Douglas Express Care in Dover several times over the years either with my children or for myself. From check-in to discharge I've always had an acceptable experience. With + COVID 19 cases on the rise I was a little nervous going to a drs appointment but I knew I had to. When I walked in I instantly felt a sense of relief! I had my own mask on going in, at the door there were clear instructions (written & pictures/visuals) on new COVID 19 procedures. 1st you are asked remove your personal mask, sanitize your hands (sanitizer provided) and put on a medical mask also provided. I felt very comfortable with the check in process & waiting area. I waited less than 5 minutes to be called into an exam room, it was very clean. Athena staff were very cautious but still able to do their jobs without it being awkward! The provider was very friendly and thorough. From check in to discharge I was in the office for a total of 30 minutes! I'm not one to write reviews but after my experience today I felt that it was important to share. During these very difficult and scary times, people might, like me, be hesitant to go to the drs. Wentworth Douglass express care is absolutely incredible! You can set up an appointment online, arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment, follow the instructions in front of the automatic doors for Covid restrictions, mask requirements.,. They check you in ask the questions they need to know confirm your identity with your license or ID and confirm insurance, address & etc. after completed, you are seen within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment. The staff is super friendly, very professional and thorough with answering all questions with a full explanations of what you need to know!! Unfortunately I was diagnosed with shingles oh my goodness are they painful but Danielle PA, is a sweetheart she took the time to speak with me, so I fully understood the answer, was able to learn the impact this will have on my body and those around me. If you need urgent care and you want a great team than Wentworth Douglas express care in Dover New Hampshire is the place to be!! Now I pray for a speedy recovery this stuff is extremely painful! I expect good care from my primary doctor and receive it. However, she was unable to see me regarding a sudden flare up of pain behind my knee - suggesting instead that I go to Wentworth Douglas urgent care on Central Ave in Dover. Service was realatively quick, medical staff friendly and courteous. Because I had just recently experienced symptoms, the doctor could not definitively pinpoint the problem. He explained what I should look for or be concerned about, encouraging me to go either to the ER or to return next day if my symptoms worsened. I returned in the AM and was promptly seen because my symptoms were more pronounced the doctor set me up immediately for a sonogram of the affected area, explained what he thought was going on and my anticipated treatment if his diagnosis was confirmed. I was very appreciative of his thoroughness, respectfulness and candor. read more

I went here last night. So impressed with the service and how they handled me personally. I felt very safe with their covid implementation and rules with safe distancing. LOVED the fact they take your number and text you ten minutes before your appt. This allowed me to leave the property and go do a few errands. The nurse was friendly and kind. She made me feel so comfortable. Very thorough. I saw PR Laura McPhee who treated me. Amazing! She also makes you comfortable. She's extremely intelligent and just knows her stuff. I've spent a lot of time in Mass General with the top docs in the world. Laura could be that caliper! I asked if she would be my primary care - Id go see her and bring all my friends and family too! I appreciate Express Care very much. I have had the occasion to visit them two or three times since moving to New Hampshire 5 years ago (from Alaska). The staff if very personable and knowledgeable and they give you the feeling that you matter. You're not just a number to them. They really care that you feel better. I like that in a medical staff. It is also a comfort that they are affiliated with the best hospital around, Wentworth Douglass. The added benefit that they are only 5 minutes away from my home is really a plus. The building is clean and up-to-date, nicely decorated and inviting. With all the chaos and uncertainty in our present day because of COVID-19, a nice medical office is an inviting presence of stability. Thank you for your concern for my health. It was my first visit there on 12/3/16. I went in for a non-emergency issue in the early afternoon. Luckily, there was only one person ahead of me so there was hardly a wait. The first assistant was very nice, then I was seen by a capable nurse practitioner named Laura. After that, it was several minutes until a nurse, also named Laura, came in with multiple-page discharge papers spelling out treatment instructions. I realize this is an ER-type facility so that is part of the process but it is so helpful to leave with written instructions; it's so easy to forget details once you leave! The next day I was surprised and pleased to get a phone call from the facility to ask how I was doing. I also chose to participate in their online survey. Overall, a positive experience! read more

Did not expect to make the impulse decision to visit this walk in clinic. My left arm was aching and I remember the symptoms of heart attacks for women...and that's one of them. Better safe than sorry. Intake was a little slow cause they were training someone new. Good thing this wasn't a heart attack! I only recommend that they consider what is happening with the person who walked in. If this WAS an attack happening - more consideration to the patient first or at least get them settled. Thorough exam and tests all negative thank goodness -- it was the result of how I handled some heavy stress that day. Staff was exceptional all around. Just that little check in fear was lingering while I waited. Would go again to this clinic if ever need be. -- they are wonderful. read more

We needed a physical and called just about every doctors office in the county. Everywhere I called was scheduling month out for physicals. I called here and was able to go right in! They also have an app so you can skip the wait time! Fill out all your info, symptoms even payment and insurance information right there. Arrive on time and you'll be in and out quickly! Not to mention the staff was amazing!! My daughter doesn't speak around people. Which can become difficult when it comes to being seen and going to appointments. For the first time it didn't even come up! She responded so naturally and was so comfortable I didn't even realize until after we left that she had just gone through the whole visit without whispering to me an having me speak for her! read more

I have been to express care of many times. I have always been impressed by the courteous and respectful staff at the check-in area. The providers are also always amazing and listen. One of the providers at this office actually let me know what doctors have been telling me wasn't what actually it was wrong with me. He did not give me a diagnosis, but he did give me a reason to question and have things looked into further. This is what ended in me getting the correct diagnosis after almost 2 years of no real answers. I highly recommend. This is not a sad clinic experience, they are professional and wonderful. Many of the doctors at the same doctor as you will see you when you go to the emergency room. really great people read more

My son was seen by Elizabeth Eaton PA-C at WDH Express Care Dover location for an ingrown toe nail. Elizabeth was absolutely amazing, she thoroughly explained the diagnosis, treatment options, answered all of our questions, and addressed all of our concerns. She did an incredible job being upfront and honest with my son about what to expect during his procedure. As a mom I was really dreading my child going through this procedure but Elizabeth's calming and patient demeanor really helped put us both at ease! I am truly blown away by how well our visit went. I had an excellent experience at Wentworth-Douglass Express Care in Dover. I was sent to the admitting personnel within 5 minutes of being there. 5 minutes later I was in an examination room with the most personable PA-C, Robbie Corriss. She painlessly and efficiently treated my wound and explained to me what was specifically wrong, how she would treat it, and directions to go home with to care for my wound. I will be returning in 2 days for a follow up. I really like how you can call ahead or as in my case Tiffany, the nurse scheduled me for a morning time so I would not have to wait too long. WDH Express care was wonderful to me. They were quite busy before I arrived but so was the hospital emergency room. Once they got me in, they were quite pleasant and understanding. They addressed all my concerns. They went above and beyond. They made me feel safe and comfortable. Each staff member from the time of check in, until the time I was discharged was kind and professional. I am very pleased with the service I received from them. I highly recommend them. They do the best they can with what resources they are given. Sometimes emergency walk ins are super busy no matter where you go. A little patience goes a long way. This team is consistently helpful, knowledgeable, compassionate, and fast. I've lived in the area for 10 years and between myself and my husband we've been here repeatedly (probably too often!). Kidney stones, shingles, stomach bugs, concussions, covid tests: they handle everything well and happily. With the exception of kidney stones, which we had to go to the ER for (medically necessary, obviously), I've never had to follow up on their care--it's always complete and accurate. I've been here a few times now and every time has been great. The doctors and nurses really take the time to make you feel like a human being and not "just another number on their list." I took both my kiddos in for strep tests today and the on duty physician actually got my 6 year to laugh and he doesn't usually do well with strangers. The nurse brought both the kiddos ice pops for their sore throats. The wait time was crazy today, but that's okay. 'Tis the season...we just checked in and specified the "come back later" options and took a trip to the grocery store. No big deal. Def worth a visit if you need it! read more

I called my PC at Express care and the fine secretaries and nurses got me in at the time I wanted that very day. They ran tests quickly and accurately and were worried enough to send me to the ICU. As it turned out they were right my blood pressure was extremely low and it's usually high. The staff at Wentworth-Douglass worked just as diligently. I've always been treated with respect by both these institutions and would recommend them highly. These men and women put their lives on the line everyday to care for us with the utmost respect. I was so I'll and was scheduled here by my PCP immediately. The Staff were extremely professional, personalized, knowledgeable and experienced! I was beyond surprised! It was like a Hospital but better. All diagnostic tests and procedures were done there. I had Cxrays, Labs drawn, Covid screening, Flu testing, IM and oral antibotics given. Also, new prescriptions were faxed over to my Pharmacy and were filled by the time I arrived home. A Great Health Care Center!! The Dover Community should be honored for such an Amazing Facility. I brought my daughter there today for chronic stomach pain after already visiting pediatrician twice. All staff were friendly, caring, helpful and knowledgeable. My daughter had her blood drawn and she said she loved the woman who took her blood the best :) As her mom, I was very happy that everything could be completed at the clinic- including urinalysis (extremely quick results!) and blood panel.
