My boyfriend took me to Five Guys for dinner on early Sunday afternoon. The first Five Guys…read morelocation has been opened in Arlington, VA., which has became a favorite fast food restaurant since then. From 2003 until now, Five Guys has expanded to almost 1,500 locations spanning the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. All the locations sell burgers, which use fresh ground beef. We went to Five Guys on 130 Ave SE, Calgary. It was our first time having food at this location. We always had Five Guys in downtown Vancouver before. Environment Five Guys on 130 Ave SE is a medium size of the restaurant. This location has the same styles as other locations - many chairs and tables inside the restaurant. They were all clean and organize. Since we arrived restaurant in the late afternoon, the restaurant was not busy at all. We can sit wherever we want to sit. Service The same as other locations, customers ordered all the food in the front and then found the table. The cashier was nice and friendly. Food We have ordered regular fries, cheeseburger, cheese hotdog, and a milkshake. All the food were well cooked. They all came out the kitchen early. The burger was very juicy. There were lots of topping on hotdog. Both burger and hotdog were tasty, but the meat was a little bit salty. The fries were seasoned with a large portion. Fries were my favorite. Prices We spent around $30 for the meal. It was a little bit expensive.

I came in expecting fast food, but instead I got Fat food (ha, good one, Simon). But for real, I…read morewas surprised by the quality of service that I received inside of this location, as I've never received that level of care from a Fatburger location before. Yes, we had our food delivered to the table like they normally do, but we also had someone come around and make sure that we had everything we needed, just like you'd expect from a formal restaurant. In addition, I was really surprised by the fact that they have a liquor license! Maybe I'm just a bit naive, but I really didn't think that an establishment such as Fatburger would have the drive to get a liquor license here in Canada, but I will say, it almost convinced me to get a drink for that reason! Buuuut I was more convinced to get a milkshake instead and for that, I have zero regrets. I went with the Mushroom Swiss specialty burger with fries, and boy oh boy, was that a satisfying meal. First thing to eat while back in Calgary for the holidays and I ALSO have zero regrets about that. I went for a two-flavour milkshake and combined the Oreo with the Mocha Java... OH MY WORD, it was one of the best milkshakes I've had in a long time. My sister got the Fatburger Jr and we were both quite full afterwards. All in all, good meal, good service, good time.

A barely luke warm burger on a not so fresh bun. Pretty uninspiring when you have come to expect much more from your favourite burger chain. Usually the beef patty is hot, somewhat juicy and as such, seemingly more flavourful. On the plus side, lots of crisp lettuce. I'll put this down to being an oversight, momentary eyes off the ball, quality wise. It can happen. I previously, about a year ago, posted a more glowing review. On this visit I used a coupon from an A&W mailer. Service was prompt, indifferent. We enjoyed the fries and root beer this time, I'm sure the burger will be better next time too.
