I did really like the crispy spicy version but the pepper sauce was hot enough to hide the flavor of the actual chicken.. I LOVE hot but in this case I really did not want it to overpower the star of the show. Service received here today was prompt, however the person handing the food out at the window did not say a word at dismissal. A thank you is always expected at least. Food presentation could have been a bit better as the Deluxe sandwich received was very messy sliding all over the place. Maybe a better looking one next time.....

This restaurant opened in 1966. As I ate my extra meaty gyro and crispy hot french fries, Dad told…read moreme of how he used to come here in the 70s to eat. He said it hasn't hardly changed. There were 9 people working in the kitchen alone, and the place was packed. Despite that, we had swift and super friendly service. The place was also very clean and I'm sure that they had to remodeled since 1966 because even though it was vintage, the vinyl and such looked new. They had fried cauliflower and fried mushrooms. Oh my! I asked our waitress which was better, and she said she loved the cauliflower. She offered to have it dipped in buffalo sauce because that's how she loves it. Well absolutely! She added ranch for good measure, and let me tell you. It was homemade and the cauliflower was spicy and brilliant. It was the perfect start to my meal. It was also huge, so I had to take it home. Oooo! Midnight snack. I'm going to the kitchen right after I finish writing. I ordered a gyro with french fries and it was perfectly seasoned and came with onions, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. It arrived wrapped in foil like a big burrito. I was full of cauliflower and not really in the mood for fries, but they were light and delicious. I didn't eat them all, but I ate a lot more than I thought I would. Dad got the blueberry pancakes with sausage, Amy got hash browns, fried eggs and turkey sausage links, and Estelle got a Philly beef and Swiss with French fries. She said the onions and peppers were on the bottom. She said it was good, but Big John's was better. We were SO FULL. They give really big portions. In fact, when we got to Dad's, Amy, Dad and I all fell asleep in our respective chairs and slept about 2 hours. Now that's some carb loading food coma! Would I go back again? Heck yeah. I just told my son about the place.

They liked it. I did not…read more I went with a group, and we had a huge order, but I wasn't very hungry. I decided to just get a caramel and marshmallow concrete mixer with vanilla ice cream. I looked at the photo they had with the caramel drizzled over the concoction and it looked lovely. We ordered and were given a plastic number so we went and sat down at a table. They have booths and tables with QR codes at each so you can order right from there. In about 10 minutes the order arrived to the table from a very friendly young lady. The family quickly scarfed down some slightly squished looking burgers, nicer looking chicken sandwiches, pale fries, cheese curds, and seemed happy overall. I was handed what looked like a vanilla shake. I tried it. It was soupy and easy to suck through a straw. It just tasted like a caramel milkshake. This is not what I ordered. It was my one thing and it wasn't great. I sat there and drank it though- Mostly because I was boxed in with the seating arrangement. I scanned the QR code at the table and placed another order for concrete mixers for the family when they were done with their meal. I offered to go up and get them, and the family moved around to let me out of the corner. I told the staff what happened with my concrete mixer. They offered condolences, but other than that they didn't really care. I watched as the girl making them for drive thru orders whipped them into a pureed consistency. I pointed out that's not what the sign showed and asked that they get someone else to make them for my family. They did and my family was happy. I paid about $100 between the two orders for 3 people and I got one truly disappointing milkshake. I told my family I don't want to come back here. I hope I don't have to in the future. It was not a good experience and when they get it wrong, they don't make it right.

Some of the chips were a little soggy. The ones that were crispy and seasoned were excellent. The hummus was okay - nothing fancy. The Dearborn is my go-to at Pita Way. The price is good and I like the dark chicken, pickles and garlic. I wish there was a little more garlic, but it was still excellent. This was my first time trying the Detroit Shawarma. I got it with white meat chicken instead of dark. The white meat is dry, so I would probably go with the dark meat next time. I had it topped with garlic, lettuce, pickles and pickled cabbage.
