He let it go for a week or so, and, then it started to cause him pain. The pain escalated pretty quickly and it was spreading. This was on a Monday evening when it started to look to me like it might be getting infected. I persuaded him to go to the ER that night. I also got online to see what dentist we could call. No one had after hours but Midwest Dentistry had early hours and I left a message explaining the problem and requesting they call us in the morning and let us know if we could come to them on Tuesday morning. We did go to the ER Monday night and an infection was confirmed. He was given an antibiotic and some pain meds to get him through the night. Tuesday morning Midwest Dental called us and said they could see him right away. I know this is a long review, but I felt a little background was needed. Anyway, my parents and I were VERY impressed with Dr Sheezan and his staff. The receptionist, Robin, I think and Nicole, the doctors assistant were so helpful and pleasant. They answered all of our questions. Dr Sheezan was able to pull the remainder of the tooth and give my dad much relief. They accepted him into their services because of our emergency and they offered continuing services to my dad. Thank you Midwest Dental in Sterling, IL for giving us some of the greatest service I could ever imagine to my dad and for making him, my mom and I so relieved to have his tooth taken care of even though we'd never been there before. I would give the doctor and all of his staff 10 stars if I could! They all certainly know how to go above and beyond for patients and their families.

We are seniors, hoping of course to hold on to and take care of the teeth we have. Neither of us were currently having any issues, not looking to have work done. You are in a chair just a few feet away from the other patients , separated by a partition, not even private offices. The 'hard sell' pitch began immediately with the hygenist informing me of all of the work that needed to be done, starting with a 'deep cleaning'. I explained that the deep cleaning would not be necessary, just a regular cleaning, as I have always had regular cleanings done every 6 months. This set the tone for the visit as she was unhappy about the refusal of the deep clean, so she became short and rude. Took an absolutely insane number of xrays, and then proceeded to put all of them up on a computer screen for you to see 'all the work that needs to be done'...tooth by tooth...the exam went on and on. Finally the dentist makes a 5-minute appearance, and as soon as he looked in my mouth said 'crown, crown, crown, new bridge, crown.....' At 7 crowns I lost count... Then leaves. The hygenist is now annoyed because she is being forced to 'clean my teeth'. She did not use tools, instead used a drill! It was rough, it was painful, rushed and she didn't make any apologies...said it was because I needed that "Deep Clean". Water sprayed all over my cheeks, chin and ran down my neck and face because she was in a hurry. She did a poor job, didn't even clean my bridgework. Our entire time there took 2 hours. over $4,000 worth of work needed once they gave the summary, and that was just the beginning of the work they were suggesting. Meanwhile, The best part of the appointment? My spouse's experience was identical, except he didn't speak up and refuse the 'Deep Cleaning', so after all his xrays-pictures-lecture-5-minute dentist visit, he just layed in the chair and chatted with the hygenist who told him well we won't clean your teeth today, because we're going to do that deep cleaning later. HIS two-hour appointment was simply for an insane amount of x-rays and no cleaning. Not one bit of work done on his teeth. Ridiculous. RUN, don't walk, away from this place. It's a money train.

Returned for my 6 month checkup. Outstanding professional care by experienced staff. If you are…read morelooking for a dental care home, consider True Smiles.
