I have been seeing Wendy Swanson for acupuncture for several years now after being recommended to her by a friend. Wendy has a natural way of making you feel completely at ease in her home office--always welcoming you with a warm smile at the door and listening intently, not only to what you want to focus on during your session, but also to who you are as a person. Over time, Wendy has become more than just an Acupuncture provider for me, she is someone I trust deeply--a practitioner with whom I feel safe and comfortable confiding, knowing she always has my best interests at heart. I've also had the opportunity to attend several of Wendy's workshops and yoga sessions, all of which have been wonderful. Every experience has been thoughtful, grounding, and restorative. I truly can't recommend Wendy highly enough. read more

Wendy has been my acupuncturist for about 1.5 years. I came with various issues as I have a physical job and also had been suffering from some insomnia, anxiety and depression. Wendy is a nurturing professional and I was at ease in her clean, comfortable office. I felt immediate relief after our first appointment. The anxiety was gone. The physical discomfort was greatly reduced. I'll keep Wendy on my healthcare team! read more

I came to acupuncture after years of chronic inflammation, stress, and anxiety, having tried everything from massage and supplements to Botox and diet changes. A orthopedic doctor finally suggested acupuncture, and I found Wendy the very next day. From the first session, I noticed a real difference. My inflammation improved, and I was shocked to see an immediate drop in my stress levels reflected on my Oura Ring app the same day. Wendy truly listens and tailors each session to what your body needs most, which makes all the difference. I've seen such consistent benefits that acupuncture is now a non-negotiable part of my routine. I can't recommend Wendy enough! read more

This is my very 1st experience with acupuncture! I have visited twice so far. I 1st sought acupuncture to potentially address a few vague symptoms that I have been experiencing. Prior to my 1st visit I completed a lengthy questionnaire from the website to prep the practitioner, Wendy, of my concerns. During the 1st visit she was thorough in gathering info from me about my concerns and was very receptive. I must admit that I was skeptical and initially had a narrow-minded impression that the session would be a little witch-doctorish. However, it was actually quite interesting. First off, it DOES NOT hurt! MY perception of the needle being inserted is that of pricking myself with the tip of an ink pin. In other words, a very dull sensation. After all the needles are placed, she leaves me to relax under dim lighting with soft music. During both sessions, within moments of being left to relax, I experienced a soothing flowing sensation proximal to the areas of the needles. On my 1st visit my foot repeatedly twitched and I had a slight achy feeling on my wrist (the wrist that I frequently sprain and have chronic intermittent pain in). Wendy later explained that the twitching was the [negative] energies exiting my body. I have no idea how long I am left in the room, but both times dozed off & awoke feeling super relaxed. There was ~3 wks between my visits and during that time I only experienced pain in my wrist once whereas typically it would be sore ~ couple times weekly. I also feel more refreshed/clear-headed after the sessions. Wendy is a delight, always presenting as warm and welcoming. Her rate is also pretty reasonable. She is by-appt only and works from two locations depending on which day. I have only visited the location near Matthews/Pineville (Carmel Village- within Bee Yoga, 2nd floor beside Panera). The other location is Plaza Midwood area. Her assistant, Patty, is very nice as well. She handles scheduling and email correspondence and has greeted me both times. I certainly plan to continue going regularly. read more

I said I would NEVER do acupuncture because I am a scaredy cat when it comes to needles. But I agreed to try it just once with Wendy to help with my migraines, muscle tension, and nerve pain. That was 3 years ago and I have been seeing Wendy ever since. Wendy is gentle, kind, and has MAGIC HANDS. She helped me throughout my pregnancy when I was experiencing carpal tunnel and sciatica pain. There's a reason she was named the Best of The Best in Charlotte. I'd say she's one of best in the world but I'll never know, because I won't go to anyone else. read more

Wendy is a highly skilled and caring acupuncturist! She helped me quit smoking in 2007, and I've seen her at least a few times a year since. I've gone to see Wendy for allergies, stress, fertility, easing of pregnancy symptoms including nausea, jet lag, and more. Wendy helps bring me back into balance every time, no matter what the cause of the imbalance! read more

I have been seeing Wendy for 5 years, I think, and she and her work are truly a staple for me. Initially, I sought her out to see what we could do about allergies, digestive issues, and anxiety. The digestive stuff cleared up almost immediately, and my allergies were triggered much less. It also greatly supported my anxiety because of how her work taps into the parasympathetic nervous system. Now, she is part of my wellness team who supports me in thriving vs. surviving. Wendy listens, cares, and sees you as a whole person. She weaves together a variety of modalities to hold space, deliver care, and offer expertise. As long as I'm in Charlotte, she's a part of my routine. read more

I found Wendy by looking on Angie's list for a recommendation as I wanted to try Acupuncture but was very nervous about it. Called and made my first appointment and was instantly relieved and so glad that I had. She takes time to truly understand what your needs are, what you expect and want to gain from Acupuncture. She has such a warm and caring personality which translates so well to the Acupuncture process. I would recommend anyone give it a try, she makes it very simple and comfortable. I truly look forward to appointments. I've "fixed" what my initial concerns were but have found that I keep going back for other things that she's helped with and just for the wonderful feeling I get from her sessions. read more

Just like most people reading this review, I had been hesitant to get acupuncture. I had researched Wendy, but was just too afraid to make the first move!I have had knots in my shoulder for YEARS. I had come to the conclusion that I would just always have those knots. I WAS WRONG. After one session with Wendy, my shoulder felt better than it had felt in years! I see Wendy once a month and my shoulder gets increasingly better every time. Wendy is such a kind, gentle, caring soul. I truly enjoy my time with her each month. I'm so glad I found her! read more

Starpoint Acupuncture & Wendy simply the best in town! If you have been thinking about acupuncture or a novice (like me) look no more. Wendy truly is "Gentle, Caring and Committed" acupuncturist. I have been receiving dry needle acupuncture treatment for 3 years now and it totally changed my life. I suffered from extreme pain and numbness down my right arm from a C7 nerve impingement. After several surgeries with minor relief, I found acupuncture and no more pain! Wendy does a great job of taking the time to understand where my pain level is with a brief consultation before each treatment. During treatment, she is constantly probing affected areas for the exact area to treat and later relief! I HIGHLY recommend Starpoint and Wendy. Brian Tedesco - Matthews NC read more

Wendy Swanson is one of those teachers that is so skilled and elegant in her teaching that you don't even know exactly how she's done what she's done. You just know during her classes and retreats that it's safe for you to let go and that you are being lovingly guided by a master. You just know that she is coming from her heart. You just feel like you can open more, like you can release any burdens. And afterwards, you know that she has facilitated some deep work within you, body and soul. I've experienced it first hand and highly recommend her classes and retreats (in case you couldn't tell;)! read more

Recently, I saw a news segment on health and how acupuncture can help with aging. It immediately caught my attention as I am in my mid-fifties but feel like I am 35 years old or so but that is until I look in the mirror. The surgical options are a bit too much for me and botox just doesn't last very long. I also recognized the acupuncturist as Wendy, a yoga teacher, at BeYoga. You cannot find a more caring, genuine person interested in holistic medicine. She also has her Masters degree in Acupuncture as well. I highly recommend her. I find the treatment quite calming as well. read more
