I am so glad I met Victoria when I did because I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia soon after. If you're familiar with fibro, you know it has a million symptoms and isn't easily treated with meds or anything else. Living with fibro is often hellish, and acupuncture is one of the few things that helps a number of symptoms. One thing I especially value about Victoria is that she's knowledgeable about Western medicine as well. I've had natural health practitioners who knew nothing about my meds or even encouraged me to go off them (!), but Victoria isn't like that at all. Having fibro is one of the worst things that's happened to me, and I do often feel hopeless and discouraged by the lack of treatment options. I don't know what I'd do without Victoria helping to at least settle my symptoms so I can get some peace.

What a pleasure to have a medical care provider who spends more than 10 minutes with a patient…read moregetting to KNOW her and her overall health needs instead of a rushed interview followed by prescribing a pill and moving on to the next in line! Western medicine, where practitioners are mostly focused on whichever organ the doctor specializes in while ignoring how every other body part or system interacts with it, is definitely the way to go when you already know exactly what the problem is. But when you have a multisystem disorder or something doctors can't quite identify, you need an approach that focuses on the entire body, mind, and spirit as one entity with a goal of achieving overall balance, not just patchwork. Chinese Medicine takes the "whole person" approach, which makes it the perfect complement to Western medicine for me.

I made an appointment for my aching lower back, which has been problematic for years. My first…read moretreatment went well, with an extensive discussion of my general health and lifestyle, pain issues, etc. Greg did a treatment which consisted of acupuncture and massage, and my back did feel better for a day or two. That's when the problems started. The next step is to have a conversation with Greg's associate Jonathan, who spends over an hour on the phone giving you the hard sell, replete with the psychological tricks, upsells, financial discussions and pressure tactics you'd expect in buying a car, not treating a medical condition ("if you sign the contract today..."). But the coup de grace is when they send you the contract. Yes, you need to sign a contract to get treated, and not your garden-variety 'I understand there are risks involved' type. No, this one's a full-bore, legalese 7-pager, replete with non-disclosure, payment and collection terms, release from liability (even for injuries caused by negligence), etc. They require payment for all 4 months of treatment, presumably even if you decide to cancel [I refused that part up front, so they changed it slightly but not much.] And, by the way, I spent 30 years in business management and understand how to read contracts; I pity the less experienced person who's supposed to get through this with no preparation. I was looking for medical treatment, not to negotiate my future. I don't understand why anyone would get involved with this to get your back pain treated. Beware!

This is the real deal.. I really did not know what to think when I went to the center. Truthfully,…read moreI said to myself this is going to be some long drawn out process to suck up my money. The owner/practioner proceeded to do an intake asking all the basic questions that a physician would ask. He talked to me and asked me to lay on the table as he proceeded to lower the lights. He then stuck two needles in each extremity and told me to relax as he placed a heat lamp over my abdomen. I almost drifted off to sleep after a while. When it was over he returned to the room removed the needles and that was it or so I thought. After I paid his father I proceeded to my car and suddenly noticed .............My pain and stiffness were gone. Still not truly believing that this could be possible I drove home. I went into my home and told my husband that something strange happened. I said, " The pain is gone."This was not at all what I expected. That was almost 4 weeks ago and some part of me wants not to believe that the pain that I have lived with off and on for years has suddenly left my body. The Dancing Crane is Salem's best kept secret. When I return to my Primary Care Physician, I will recommend The Dancing Crane to all of her hard to treat patients with chronic pain issue. This is my first review and I plan to give frequent updates. The facility is exceptionally clean and has a soothing vibe.
