After doing my research and getting some crap over the phone from my first choice, I decided to give Piedmont Endocrinology a try. I called and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She advised of a recent cancellation and could squeeze me in the following Friday - perfect! She told me I would be seeing Dr. El-Kebbi. I arrived 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment to complete all of the new patient paperwork. After I was done, friendly receptionist called me up to the window to advise me that Dr. El-Kebbi was a few minutes behind schedule, but I was his next patient. She apologized for the delay and I went back to playing Jewel Mania. I'm usually super super anal about being on time. Maybe I'm just jaded now because I'm convinced that no doctor is ever on time, but I at least appreciated the fact that she took the time to tell me that he was running a little late. With previous doctors, most just let you sit there until you realize your appointment was supposed to be 45 minutes ago. So 5 or 10 minutes later, I'm called back. I'm taken to an exam room by a super friendly guy who's name escapes me. He also apologizes for the delay and emphasizes that Dr. El-Kebbi really doesn't like being late. We go over some basic info and he advises that the Doc will be in a moment. Let me first say that my previous doctor was a bit standoffish. Nice enough, just didn't seem overly personable or concerned. I experienced the complete opposite with Dr. El-Kebbi. He was warm and friendly and very interested in my medical care. He provided valuable insights into certain aspects of my medical care that I feel were lacking with my previous doctor. I honestly felt like I was speaking with a friend the whole time. There was one awkward moment when he seemed to fail to understand how I could be so certain that I would not be getting pregnant, but we got through that. It's quite funny in retrospect. The whole appointment went exactly how I feel a doctor's appointment should go. I'm almost (but not quite) willing to overlook the tardiness, but we'll see how that goes in future visits. I highly highly recommend Dr. El-Kebbi to anyone in the market for a new endocrinologist.

I arrived for my appointment on Wednesday. Not the greatest drive from Marietta, but worth it. Dr. Patel is my new favorite endo ever. She's young, up to date on the latest research on Thyroid health, and spent real, quality time with me going over my chart and medical history. I was in and out in about an hour (even as a new patient) - including labs. The lab technicians were friendly, quick and painless as was the check out process. Overall, I'm very pleased!

Its been a few months and I feel fantastic again. The office staff - Lady at the check in counter is very nice. Always pleasant but also all business. Nurses and P/A staff were amazing. I was very uncomfortable and in a bit of pain. They were patient and understanding with me My surgeon was a good guy. Unfortunately he was all business and "bedside manner " lacking. One of my procedures made me very uncomfortable and nervous. He had no patience for me and my concerns or the fact that the process was very uncomfortable for me I only saw him for that one procedure, the consultant before my surgery for 10 minutes and the day of my surgery Overall everything went well but I would have liked things a lot better had we had conversations about what was happening. I got most of my important information from a coworker who had been thru a similar procedure Also feel like we could have moved this a bit more quickly. Dr. Rauch and West Ga. Urology will be my first call for help in this area of medicine. The procedure was performed in such a way that it was as comfortable as it could possibly be. It did hurt a bit, but, needles and scalpels used within the scope of a Urologist probably isn't EVER going to be all sunshine and rainbows. Some of the reviews posted give low ratings due to things that are outside of the reasonable control of the staff i.e. "it was painful so I gave them 1 star"........pretty stupid and useless review. Also, if you don't know if you need a Proctologist, Urologist, or a Gynecologist to address your personal needs........we have "Google" to tell us what each of those professions handle. Google is free and readily available pretty much everywhere. If you don't have your own way to Google something, pretty much anyone will do it for you. If technology isn't quite your thing, which if you are reading this then you'll manage, regular ol' dictionaries or World Book encyclopedias are also your friend. Urological visits are logically less fun than a day at the beach, fishing, playing with your dog, having drinks with friends, skydiving, swimming with dolphins, watching the miracle of the Galapogos Green Sea Turtles hatching and finding their way to the cool ocean waters, hiking the trails of the Easter Islands and meandering amongst the monolithic Moai while you reflect on all of the possibilities of their creation, and bacon. Would you give the oceans a 1 star review because salt water burns in your eyes? NO, even the dumbest among us would not. Know what the effective treatment has been every time. I haven't been sick long enough with it apparently. As I've had a sinus infection 3 years ago, they asked if I'd seen an ENT. Waste of half a day off work. Had poison ivy. Had it before. Knew exactly what's was going on. Knew when, where and how I got it. When poison ivy starts sprouting, I will come in contact with it because I don't see it. Argued with me as to what it was and didn't want to treat it. I had to demand the effective treatment of steroids and cream. Had an ear ache. Knew what my symptoms were. It was Summer. Had been to the beach. 3 trips to this location for three different incorrect and unsuccessful diagnoses. They went as far as to tell me I had a fungal ear infection and I needed an ENT. Nope. Went to my GP and they removed wax buildup I had pushed deep by accident. Instantly better. Listening to the patient and treating them the first time is all I'm looking for. This location demonstrates they cannot do that. Not steering me to an ENT 5 weeks in the future. I have had multiple visits that resulted in incorrect or unreliable treatment. All the ailments were run of the mill, seasonal situations, with easy, common remedies. This ain't an episode of HOUSE. Edit: they did finally give me a script for antibiotics, so the visit wasn't a whole washout. One star added back.

My physician was very knowledgeable about my condition and she subscribed me a bunch of stuff to take care of my pain and condition. I truly recommend Piedmont. This is my first time at this location, I have visited the Camp Creek location also and top tier just busier. Thanks for a stressless visit. Ok I arrived 7:50 and was there on a Wednesday until 8:30am not only were they closed but, no one showed up. The service here is extremely un-organized and again I was there longer than I should of been. It was less than a whole business day later, that all surgeries got canceled indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus virus situation. I realize closing surgeries was not the surgeon's call, but there was a lot of danger in having me wait this out, as I have secondary complications if I did this via ER in the pending months of outbreak. I suspect it's been broken for the last seven years. I felt my evaluation should have been seen more of a priority. The three star is also up there because my medical records never ended up at their place even though I sent them weeks in advance. I felt the office should have called me as my appointment was approaching, to let me know they still weren't there because myself and main GP thought they were.

Now I am insane amount of pain from location of procedure, I call at 8am, then again at 11am to be pushed into voicemails. To get a call back at 3:15pm to be told I can come get it but they close by 4pm. ... uh what? you ON PURPOSE waited till the last moment to tell me I can drive there to come get the script? This is terrible, I will be sending this issue to as many Wellstar as I can, this should not be allowed.
