I had an appointment last week and informed the provider that this is a problem I've had a lot and told her what usually fixed it and what I needed. She shorted me on medicine so I ran out before I was well. I called and got the big runaround. The net result is that I suffered a day or two more than necessary. The medical assistant is really a problem. I called for a refill, got a medical assistant who wasn't on-site but forwarded the message to the Mescal medical assistant. She replied with this completely unresponsive message: "I wanted to inform you that we have received a mychart message that you are requesting a refill on cephalexin (KEFLEX) 500 mg capsule. Is there any reason that you are requesting a refill for this medication?" (I HAD EXPLAINED IN DETAIL WHY IN MY REQUEST. NOT LISTENING!) "Please It us know if there is anything else we can do for you." (THIS IS JUST AN INSULT. THEY KNOW PERFECTLY WELL WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT THEY COULD DO FOR ME. WHAT A HORRIBLE THING TO SAY TO A PATIENT WHO HAS BEEN BEGGING FOR A REFILL.) That seems to be the philosophy here, based on my own experience. They give you the very bare minimum and I'm not talking about narcotics but antibiotics that cannot be abused. You can see how horrible this place is by this Yelp page. At least two of the doctors pictured haven't been there in years and the providers who are there aren't pictured. Probably no one takes care of this page; that would be what I would expect.

I had a minor issue with a toenail--it was pressing against the skin, causing me occasional pain. I…read moredecided to go see a doctor. The doctor entered the room and immediately began pitching his services--essentially suggesting that I come in once a month so he could trim all my nails for me; from what I gathered, it was something akin to a pedicure. I replied that I was accustomed to taking care of my own nails and had been doing so my entire life. At that point, the doctor grabbed a pair of clippers and began rapidly snipping off all my toenails, one after another, on both feet. I started screaming in pain, but he carried on as if he couldn't hear me. I was seated in a specialized chair with my feet elevated off the floor, leaving me with no way to jump up and get away. In short, this entire "procedure" ended with me not only enduring severe pain but also bleeding from three of my toes. He attempted to stop the bleeding and, in a rather haphazard manner, patched up the injured toes with gauze and Band-Aids. I barely managed to make it home and lay down for several hours until the bleeding finally stopped completely. It took another few days before I could walk without feeling pain in my injured toes. Yet even now--twenty days later--my toes still hurt when I walk. That is the kind of doctor we have in our town. Feel free to go visit him yourself.

He even pointed out where her previous doctor had gone wrong in his initial diagnosis! Post surgery care has been wonderful and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor for her. She was even up and walking in under 8 hours, which she is supposed to be doing. It was painful for her to get out of bed, but once she got on her feet she was good to go - which is always good news. When she had her first surgery done back in Oregon, it took her 2 days to get walking or feel anything in her legs. As a former healthcare worker (hello, UCSF!), I called my old contacts and they reassured me that he was the best you can find in the valley. Dr McLean's office is located in Scottsdale and is easy to find...I'd recommend him.

I chose Miller Physical Therapy because of their proximity to my house and their reviews here on Yelp. Scheduling appointments went smoothly and everybody that I spoke to there was pleasant. My doctor said that I was supposed to go 2 times per week for a month but I only went twice. My therapist, Nick (totally reminds me of Will Ferrall), clearly explained what was wrong with my knee and how he planned to heal it. After the second session I knew exactly what I had to do and was ready to work on it on my own. I cancelled the rest of my appointments partly because I am lazy and didn't want to go but partly because the stuff I needed to do with my knee was relatively simple and I could do on my own so why pay someone else? Anyway, Nick is awesome and although he doesn't know it, he almost totally cured my knee pain I've had for over a year. I would recommend this place to anybody. The facility isn't as hoity-toity and fancy as I had expected but was nice, clean and contained all the doodads necessary for physical therapy.
