Not only is it closer, they have appointments available easily a month or two sooner than any place else in the region, it would seem. Certainly a lot sooner than any place in Syracuse! I am a difficult patient to deal with, not because I throw a fit, but because I cannot sit in a chair, and can only walk (with a mobility aid) about 20 feet, and I have severe pain after doing so. I had to lie down on the floor soon after getting to the front desk. This understandably caused a fair amount of distress all the way around, but I had no choice. Rather than getting angry at me, the staff were all very kind and compassionate. They made intake as easy as possible for me, crouching down and helping me with my paperwork. They rolled the MRI gurney all the way down the hall to the doors that opened out to the waiting room. I only had to walk about 15 feet to get to it. They helped me on it, and also got a wedge under my knees right away when I told them I needed it in order to lie still in the machine. When they rolled me into the machine, they of course gave me headphones and asked what my preference was, musically. I asked for classical, and they gave me some really nice soothing music. They also had nice cool air blowing over my face, which helped SO MUCH with feelings of claustrophobia. The tube can get warm and stuffy, so the air REALLY helped me. I ended up meditating on an oil painting of autumn leaves, listening to lovely classical music and enjoying the cool air on my face. They were really kind, checking in and letting me know how much time I had left in the tube. It sounds weird to say this, but I actually enjoyed it. I was a little sad when it was over, even, haha! Yeah, the machine goes ANH ANH ANH ANH ANH TOKTOKTOKTOTKTOK EERRRRRRRRRRR, but the classical helps sort of drown that out, and it's just pretty relaxing overall. I think I might have even dozed off, despite my intense pain. They did everything they could to make sure it was all as painless and stress-free as possible. Once I was done, everyone on staff at the time came out and helped me to my car, walking with me the whole way and making sure I got in the car. I didn't scream or cry at all until I had to get to my car (it was a long walk for me) and I could NOT have made it if they hadn't been there. I cannot express my gratitude for their compassion strongly enough. They are wonderful here. If you need an MRI, this is THE place to go. The people working here are so nice and caring. They should be proud!

Dr. Tarala makes you feel as you are part of a family and is willing to sit down and talk about any concerns. I have also seen Dr. Fiacco, he also a wonderful person and a great doctor. I have never waited as long as 30 minutes. However, I think that Upstate has been spoiled in that there usually are not waits. When I lived down state, I always brought a book with me, because I knew I would be waiting for some time. In the end, they are truly wonderful family doctors.

Let me tell it how it is - this place has too many patients and every Dr I have ever seen here needs sensitivity training and improvement on bedside manner. I was in a traumatic near-death accident in January 2024 and saw Dr. Malvasi as a follow up to being in the emergency room for hypothermia and he was honestly great and compassionate - but wanted me to see MY PCP Dr Clapper like a week later. I was bruised from head to toe still from my accident at that point, and I had questions about my lack of sensation in my legs, feet, arms and hands. I had to explain to the nurse what happened and what I was there for. In walks Dr Clapper - OMG WHAT HAPPENED? why wasn't she prepared? Why did I have to relive my trauma AGAIN when all of this should have been in notes reviewed before walking into the room. At this time, I requested to be moved to Dr. Malvasi's care because he had seemed so compassionate after my accident. My following experiences with Dr. Malvasi were less than ideal - I gained weight due to my depression and PTSD and when I saw him again he asked how I was doing and I said it had been a tough winter - HE LAUGHED and said I CAN SEE THAT BY HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU GAINED! Real professional. Also, knowing that I had been in an abusive relationship and had difficulty with men - he thought it was also appropriate to make jokes every time I saw him asking if I was dating again yet. Not funny. The last two times I saw Dr Malvasi I requested a specific course of treatment. He said we could discuss that further in 3 months if I did xyz. I did xyz and went back at 3 months and was told CNYFC had new policy for this treatment and to do xyz and come back in 3 months. Right before my next 3 month appointment I received notification that CNYFC would no longer be working with the treatment at all - even though I had been doing what I was told for the last 6 months to receive this treatment. I sent a disgruntled response to the portal and the response I received was that I didn't know what I was talking about and "good luck finding a new pcp". So one time I disagreed with their practices and expressed it and they dropped me like it was nothing stating "consistently disruptive to staff". So a one time expression of dissatisfaction is "consistently disruptive"? Also Dr Malvasi asked at both 3 month follow ups if I was dating yet - still not funny. I really have found in life that when situations like this arise, comparable to being fired from a terrible employer, move on to bigger and better things. I'll find a dr office that doesn't turn people over like an assembly line and actually knows the appropriate way to communicate with patients. Btw I found a new primary care and had an appointment scheduled in less than a week. CNY family care thinks they can treat people like crap as if there are no other physicians around. Read the other reviews - my experience is not unique - and there are plenty of better offices to go to than this one.

Constantly closing early or not opening at all. I've tried multiple times. I check their website, voicemail, and facebook page for office hours. Drive out there (which is 30 minutes away) and sign on door....CLOSED, sorry for the inconvenience. If you can't be open your scheduled hours then change your hours so people who are feeling unwell to begin with aren't wasting their time coming there to be turned away. Hope in the future to be able to give you a good review.

He explained everything thoroughly and things went exactly as he said they would. He also followed up right after the surgery. Dr. James Dennison performed the surgery without a hitch. The nurses and the PT staff took wonderful care of me as well. Now, its up to me to do my physical therapy.

In particular, Brooke was wonderful in her care for my husband and my family as we dealt with this unexpected emergency. When his condition worsened, Dr. Vanderfhoof facilitated his transfer to Upstate, where the staff also cared for him with skill and compassion until his death. I cannot recommend them more highly. We were on vacation, in a strange town and a strange hospital, and we felt cared for and loved while we were there.

Moot because we ended up in the hospital for four days for something they could not have treated anyway. They called the hospital to advise that we would be there and forwarded the information they did have. The advance information allowed the emergency room to begin testing right away.

I had a chest congestion issue that…read morebegan 5 days ago...my symptoms were not improving with the over the counter meds...went there at 7:25 pm Saturday night...(they close at 8) saw Dr...received prescriptions...went to 24 hour Kinney Pharmacy...and was back home...all in 1 hour. Make sure to bring ID and Insurance card... The entire staff from receptionist, to nurse to Dr...we're all professional, polite, patient and helpful. Recommend highly!
