Their doctors are awesome. But, good luck getting an appt!…read more Then after that, good luck trying to communicate with your doctor!!! Their scheduling lines are tedious and time consuming. Navigating them can waste an entire hour! And wait times just to speak with someone are soooo long!!! Also, some clinics are no longer booking any appt. because of the back log of patients. I'm gonna find care elsewhere. It's a nightmare!!!

I was referred to Emory Eye Clinic to be fitted for a sclarel contact lens as treatment for keracotonus. During my first visit in September 2025, the doctor explained that prescribing the lens is a 4 visit process. He said it would cost $800 out of pocket plus a $30 copayment for each visit. The billing department confirmed this. I paid the $800 promptly. I have also paid $30 during each visit. My final appointment was in January 2026. About a week later, I received a bill for $515. I contacted Emory and my insurance company to resolve this issue. My insurance contacted Emory and explained that there was a problem with the claim and told them how to fix it. They did not correct the error. I got a bill for $485 a few weeks later. I again contacted Emory and my insurance company. My insurance company contacted Emory a second time. I received another bill in April. This time it was back to $515. However my account in MyChart says it's $485. My insurance company contacted Emory a third time. I reached out to the billing department via MyChart. The response said that a quote from billing is not a guarantee, that my insurance doesn't cover keracontonus and that they cannot provide a itemized bill that reflects payments on my account. All of that is inaccurate and unacceptable. After 3+ months of all this, I made a complaint to Patient Relations. They intervened. They also gave me a lot of excuses. I understand that mistakes in billing happen. I don't understand the unwillingness to correct the mistake. The could have easily resolved if Emory had listened to my insurance company in the first place.

Emory Healthcare - Global termination letter that doesn't even have all of the departments I see. Nor did I get a letter from all of my doctors.

I call the main Piedmont billing, wait 25 mnutes on hold and they dont know anything about them. I have a medical spending reimbursement account and I have to present a receipt that matches the bill to get paid, and without that I dont get paid. Seems like about 1/2 the bills out there are like this now and its so annoying that this keep happening. The main Piedmont health only bills for the hospital complex is what they tell me so this must be from elsewhere and its out of control. I guess I will have to dispute each one with the bank and see if that helps them wake up. Be forwarned! They have show inserts laying all over the place and everyone is told to take one. They add $50 to your bill for the inserts. Many may not know unless you ask! Is it better than inserts you can get online for 1/3 that??? I have no way to know but my guess is no. I refued this scam and the $50 was put on my account ANYWAY. I had to fight to get it off. Then the total didnt match the bill do my insurance balked! The only way to come out unscathed is to AVOID this place.

I wish I would've read the reviews for making my appointment And after my 1st appointment since…read morehaving Kaiser I was really regretting my decision to switch. As soon as I walked in the lobby I knew I was double triple booked like they do at the beauty salons. the whole lobby was packed with customers. First off my appointment was at 10:30 I didn't get seen until a little after 11:00, I had to check back in to have someone do my labs which took another 30 min wait. Then I had to check in online for my meds and wait for that to filled inhouse which was another 30 min. This process seems inefficient to me. I left around 1:25 p.m. Now here is where things get weird. I have never in my adult life had a physical or doctors appt w/o basic questions being asked like family medical history, vitamins/supplements that are taken, mental health , drugs& alcohol. I told doctor and kiosk I had been hospitalized recently and that wasn't even brought up. I brought my medicine in and wasn't asked how long I was dealing with condition or taking meds. Another weird thing about my appt is my physical didn't include the basics. Stick out your tongue say AHHH, look in my eyes & ears, check my reflexes, tap on my stomach to make sure my liver is ok, EKG, check my breast, oxygen levels, heck my temperature wasn't even checked. The only thing checked was my blood pressure, pap smear (nobody asked my last cycle or even if i was on my cycle) , and labs. During the physical I told Dr. Pinera that I didn't think my meds were working for my BP. I think I'm becoming insulin resistant from my medicine. He became very offended. Wanting to know who told me that, where did I read that at. I felt insulted and unheard as if at my 47 years of being on this earth I can't tell something is wrong with my body. I showed him my BP that I have been tracking, and he told me the meds are working, he clearly didn't read what I showed him because my BP has not been right with or without me taking meds. Dr. Pinera asked if I had sleep apnea which I do and said this could be reason for the way I've been feeling. He told me has prescribed this BP medicine to so many people and it works. I informed him several times we won't know until the labs come back. At one point i started crying I was so flustered and was trying my best not to let my tongue unleash something serious and offensive. I was told I would get a new bp monitor, mine is shot out. I didn't see any email or anything on Kaiser website showing that, only thing I saw was an email invitation to download an app for bp monitoring. At the end he told me he was going on vacation for 2weeks and to make an appointment in 3 months. I wont be back. Dr. Pinera seems nice but I don't think he listens really. You can try at your own risk.

Oh Emory. What are we going to do with you? I love your doctors and nurses so freaking much. But…read moreyour parking and, to a lesser extent, your front desk staff, leave much to be desired. Seriously, I would have gone elsewhere a long time ago if the doctors weren't as awesome as they are. My general doctor as well as the specialists I've seen over the years are all friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Now, here are the downsides: - Parking at the 1365 buildings (A, B, and C is the Winship Cancer Institute) totally and absolutely blows. Someone mentioned valet being worth it and I really think I'm going to have to try it next time (although I get the feeling that they implemented it more for the little old people who can't walk from the parking deck to the buildings). The signs and directions are sort of confusing. The garage itself is weirdly dimly lit and cramped. I'm not even claustrophobic but that garage makes me anxious. Also, the spaces themselves aren't huge and people park like assholes. - The directions and signage inside isn't always clear. For example, if you enter Winship from the front (where the valet is), you're on the 1st floor. But if you self-park, you enter through the back of the building, but you're actually on another level called the Plaza Level. But nowhere does it tell you that. So you walk inside thinking you're on the first floor and that totally throws you off when you try to find the department you need. - Emory is CONSTANTLY doing construction, so keep that in mind when navigating your way around. - Front desk staff can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are efficient and other times, they are in absolutely no hurry to do anything but talk about who said what to whom and when and where and omg you can't be serious, he did what?? - The check-in process has multiple steps. First, you fill out a paper and place it face-down in a basket. Then someone will get your paper, pull up your information, and then call you over to verify address/insurance and actually check you in. So, as you might imagine, plenty of time might pass between when you arrive and when you're actually checked in. Depending on how well the front desk is running and how far the doctor is running behind, you might be waiting around for a while. - All of which leads me to a strong suggestion: GET THERE EARLY. Like at least 15 minutes early. Between the construction, parking, front desk...just get there early. Luckily, my last two visits were both under an hour, so I only had to pay the minimum parking fee. Yay? In the end, the doctor is what I'm here for. And I'm definitely a fan of The Emory Clinic's doctors. (I'd have to be to put up with all of that other crap, right?)

They sent an order for a $7,000.00 out of pocket test to placate me with these instructions to the doctor doing the tests: She wants this so that she can continue to smoke Marijuana. They also diagnosed me with a heart arrythmia which is keeping me from getting any other help without paying for a cardiologist. In the hospital they also let me routinely lay around for hours SCREAMING in pain. I ended up in serious pain again this past April and went to Kennestone Hospital and they NEVER once accused me of drug seeking, actually ran some tests, actually conferred with one another and found the real cause. I am now thriving. UNLESS YOU ARE FORCED INTO EMORY HOSPITALS GASTROENTEROLOGY FOLKS YOU ARE BETTER TO AVOID THEM. They WILL NOT HELP YOU!!! They'll accuse and accuse and if they read a recent article that said smelling bread will cause pain then they'll tell you that is what it is. They do not seem well trained at all.
