I haven't been to a clinic before that is based in a retail plaza - Brookhaven's Town Center. The…read moreclinic is part of the Emory Healthcare System & the structure did not keep me from having a positive patient experience with Dr. Kovacs & her team. Team Kovacs: Tedra, the spirited Patient Care Representative who doubles as the Gatekeeper is the perfect person for the role. Each time I see her that contagious vibe & smile does not falter. One of the things I noticed & admire about Tedra, is that if she can't get one of her colleagues on the line to answer a question, she'll kindly tell the patient she will be right back while hunting down the answer & or assistance. She also keeps the medical practice in a highly clean, organized & comfortable atmosphere. By the time I sat down & got comfortable, the Medical Assistant Brandy, called me back. Her demeanor was spot on during my vitals that she did not rush to take. Her compassion is effortless while she excels in working as a team. Post vitals she asked me if there were any concerns that I had for Dr. Kovacs or if I need anything. Post exam, Brandy guided me back to the lobby area. I keep stating how important the MA's are to the Physicians. Nurse Judy is a smiling grandmaster of all things nursing. She will answer the questions she can, if not she stays in her lane & yields to Dr. Kovacs when necessary. Dr. Kovacs, is one of the two Physicians at the clinic & I can't rave enough about her. Her thoroughness of my appointment, her ability to ask & answer questions before, during & after my examination with her overall amiable patient care, made my appointment a fulfilling experience. Lab work is off-site. However, I was able to choose from one of the 30+ locations (lucked up one close to where I live) & after the kiosk registration, ID confirmation, blood draw, I was on my way within 15 minutes or less. Although in its setting, the Emory Brookhaven Family Medicine Clinic offers General, family & preventative medical services, while utilizing the same Patient Portal across the healthcare system. I am more than pleased in selecting Dr. Kovacs as my PCP & glad to see how well she & her team works well together...definitely completes me as a satisfied patient. Recommending Dr. Kovacs is a no-brainer.

In general, service with Emory has been poor at best. The telephone hold times are 20 minutes or…read moremore, so I 'm forced to use the "PORTAL" to communicate. It took 2.5 weeks via the portal to get my first prescription! A specialty pharmacy was needed and no one there knew. (REALLY???!!!) I never got a letter of authorization for an exception from my doctor (Nanes). It took 2.5 months for my first appointment, and 2 months for my second appointment - and that was begging. Initially, they wanted me to wait 4 months -- from July with a follow up NOVEMBER.... to say, "Yes, I want that medication". Really? I could have answered the next day. I will probably leave Emory physicians due to this huge inconvenience and "I-don't-really-care-I-am-Emory" attitude. The staff has been nice, but not overly helpful. The staff there are not rude, just do not engage and truly care.

The person who works at the front desk, I believe her name is Ashley, is also very kind and caring and wonderful at her job. This is a wonderful clinic and I give their customer service and treatment five stars. A lot of other clinics out there are very pushy and focused on sales. This clinic is only focused on how they can best serve your health. I came in with an emergency after having some extremely low T issues, and Laura was compassionate and helped me the same day. I will always be grateful to them. Together, Ashley at the front, and Laura working the back end, both make for one heck of an an amazing company that will treat you with nothing but compassion and dignity.

I've always wanted to try testosterone, but never really felt safe doing it. I made my first…read moreappointment and the staff worked hard to get me educated on what testosterone was all about. They first obtained blood samples to check my levels to see if I even NEEDED testosterone. My T level was almost half of what a normal 31 yo male should be. And they knew just what to do for that. They also checked a couple of other hormone levels to get a baseline as this these will also need monitoring. Results: I've only progressed for two weeks on T. And I def have more energy. That's the biggest difference I noticed right away. I've noticed bigger results in muscle mass post work out also. I'll keep you posted on other results I find.

Overpriced and not trustworthy- Avoid Passport Health Travel Clinic on Peachtree Road, Atlanta…read more I had a terrible experience with Passport Health in Atlanta while preparing for a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia in March '95. I was charged $2050 for vaccines I should've beeen charged $ 5.99 for from CVS or a Walgreens. Despite they're having my itinerary, I was prescribed unnecessary & high priced shots, ones I did not need, for my destination. The RN administering the vaccines seemed more focused on upselling than providing genuine care. Ten minutes into my consultation, she reminded me that our session was limited to 40 minutes. I also witnessed her practically high fiving another employee after prescribing & administering me a number of vaccines which makes me think they must be on commission. Interesting for a health care provider! Afterwards, I looked at many positive reviews on their website and found them highly questionable. No, No, No. Do not…read morewaste your time at this clinic. Seriously, you are better off going to the ER, or even staying home. I was having basic flu symptoms- nausea, dizziness, fever, aches, etc. I went in to get a prescription for THE FLU. While I did get in rather quickly, the positive stops there. Once the doctor came into the room she ordered a urine sample (?) and said that I would need a pelvic exam (???) while rudely pushing my husband out the door. She then told me that I needed to be STD tested and proceeded to take all kinds of blood samples. When I told her I was simply there to cure the flu, she shushed me and said that I had something much more serious. While giving the urine sample, I noticed a newly forming rash on my left leg and she told me to ignore that, it wasn't a concern. Lastly, she instructed me NOT to talk with my HUSBAND about the testing, because it would probably cause conflict in my marriage, and she wanted to be able to sleep at night. She sent me out of there with nothing. ....Fast forward to the next day~ rash has broken out all over, and I go to the ER. Sure enough, I was having something more serious than the flu- a severe allergic reaction. This quack should not be in practice! For those of you who go to these Doc-in-the-boxes on a regular basis due to low cost~ STOP! I found an awesome general physician with the same copay as the clinic. I'l never, ever, ever go here again, and you shouldn't either.
