This modern-looking facility is large and has everything- and I mean every equipment for rehabilitation, injury, management, etc. to restore physical function. But you have to do your work at home too- just don't rely on coming here and call it a day. And that's how it happened when I began with SportsCare in January to strengthen my knee. From the front desk to PT assistants(?)- everyone has been helpful- but I need to give Abey 'Ebby' Oommen- my therapist a shout-out for providing personalized care using a variety of techniques to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function on my left knee and achieve my goals. He also taught me how to avoid further damage on my knee tear so that I can achieve even more health benefits leading up to my surgery that I had in late June. Currently, Ebby is the man of the hour. Heck, he's always been since starting with him in Jan. '23. He's professional, super friendly, chill, caring and truly listens to you, your pains and gains. I mean the guy gives you results and instant relief. Again, you have to do your part as well. My very first PT visit post-surgery with Ebby was something I was looking forward to. Even though my foot walking position was off, he was astute and corrected that ASAP. I still have ways to go but what I also know is- he stays up to date on exercises and stretches that will benefit me and always uses best practices.

Based on SportsPlus's outstanding five-star ratings and its convenient location close to my home, I decided to give them a try, and I'm so glad I did. From my very first phone call through every visit, the entire team has made this a wonderful, positive experience. They call me when something opens up knowing that I'm only walking distance away. My therapist, Carl, has been incredible. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and gentle in his approach. However, when I showed up for the second session, the receptionist, Angelica, informed me that the session had been cancelled and the PT was not in the office. I had taken off work and moved an important meeting to show up, so the fact that no one called or texted me was extremely inconvenient. The receptionist, Angelica, showed absolutely no emotion or concern; she didn't make any eye contact with me and behaved in a bizarre and robotic way, just clicking on the computer without acknowledging me at all; there was a total lack of any kind of social ability. While it's highly possible she is neurodivergent (in which case her behavior makes sense) this is a business, and if someone at a business makes a mistake, the mistake should be acknowledged and the inconvenience to the customer should be remedied. I won't be coming back here.

The Cliffnotes Review: Dr. Handler helped my achieve my…read moregoals to improve my mobility and minimize pain. The Unabridged Review: In January 2020 I sought out Dr. Handler for Active Release Therapy due to iliopsoas tendonitis. Originally, I intended to receive 12 office visits with him; however, COVID19 interrupted those plans, and managed to get eight visits in before NYS went on "pause." That being said, Dr. Handler helped me by providing the ART treatments themselves, as well as specific exercises to be done at home. Additionally, Dr. Handler also provided cupping therapy, as well as chiropractic adjustments as part of my treatment plan. During the shut down, the exercises at home, along with the "contact avoidance" I was avoiding grabbing railings to get up and down stairs, I have experienced a more pronounced improvement in my conditions. While my issues aren't 100% resolved (and doubtful they ever will be completely 100% resolved), Dr. Handler was able to provide effective pain relief and improved mobility in a more obvious way where ART from another practitioner, as well as various injections from physiatrists failed. Dr. Handler is a capable and caring chiropractor, who is open/receptive to input/feedback from his patients, and has a pleasant personal demeanor and conversational style. Other things worthwhile sharing: Pricepoint: I found his office fees to be reasonable, especially given the level of care and attention provided.
