You'll be on hold a long time before they answer their phone. (Been on hold 15 minutes so far as I write this review).

I cannot recommend Dr. Adam Cerissi highly enough. In today's healthcare environment, finding a…read morephysician who truly embodies what it means to be a doctor is increasingly rare, but Dr. Cerissi is that exceptional provider. What sets Dr. Cerissi apart is his remarkable ability to be truly present during appointments. While we live in a digital world where electronic medical records are essential and, like all of us, I've grown accustomed to doctors staring at a screen typing away as I discuss what brought me to their office that particular day. One hopes they're taking notes about what you're saying, but I often secretly wonder if they're busy planning their next tee time or replying to their wife about what to pick for dinner. Dr. Cerissi is refreshingly different. He maintains eye contact during our conversations and saves his documentation for the end of our visit, ensuring I have his complete attention. He has definitely truly mastered the art of mindfulness in medicine. Given that he sees patients 8-10 hours a day, back-to-back, year after year, it would be understandable if he seemed rushed or distracted. Yet he never gives me that impression. He takes the time to truly listen to and address my concerns and questions. I never feel hurried or like he's eager to move on to the next patient. This level of engagement, especially considering the daily challenges healthcare providers face, speaks volumes about his character and dedication. As a seasoned RN with 30 years of experience, I appreciate that he respects my clinical insights and takes my treatment requests into consideration. Dr. Cerissi's approach to my weight loss journey perfectly exemplifies his exceptional care. While he's not specifically a weight loss physician, when I presented research about GIP and GLP-1 medications (the "twincretin" class), he took the time to review my findings then trusted me to find a reliable compounding source for the medication before my insurance covered the brand name (Zepbound) and he's supported me throughout the process by allowing me to titrate the medication as needed while providing coaching and guidance, This collaborative approach has been life-changing - Over the past 6 months, I've lost a total of 53 pounds. I didn't have the resources to pay $250 - $300 a month for the medication at formal weight loss clinic where, in addition to charging for the medication, you have "program fees", "consultations", montly office visits, etc., so I'm extremely grateful that his only motive was to see me get healthy! Dr. Cerissi understood that obesity is complex and has multiple drivers beyond simple caloric imbalance - something many physicians, particularly those who haven't struggled with weight, fail to grasp. Dr. Cerissi is incredibly down-to-earth and approachable, which makes every appointment comfortable and stress-free. He possesses extensive medical knowledge, and when I bring up topics he's unfamiliar with, he's humble enough to research them or refer me to someone who can better address my needs. When I have questions, I can reach him through Advent's patient portal, and he consistently responds the same day. This level of accessibility and responsiveness is remarkable in today's healthcare landscape. He truly represents everything you want in a primary care physician: clinical excellence, genuine compassion, exceptional communication skills, and the rare ability to make each patient feel heard and valued. In an era where healthcare often feels impersonal and rushed, he stands out as a beacon of what patient-centered care should be. With that said, it is without hesitation that I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Cerissi to anyone seeking a primary care physician who they want to truly partner with them in their healthcare journey.

Worst medical care system ever!…read more Our wonderful doctor of 22 years retired last year and we are trying to find a new primary care doctor. Well, good luck with that! We have tried calling four doctors so far. Right now, our primary need is to refill current prescriptions that we got from our old doctor less than 8 months ago. But, what a run around we are getting, since each doctor in the FMC system we called is telling us we are considered NEW patients and the next opening for a new patient appointment is in four months. So, after 22 years we are new patients? So, all those previous 22 years of office visits, physicals, tests, surgeries, etc. suddenly don't count? So every time I want to see a different doctor I am going to be considered a new patient? And therefore have to wait four months for an appointment, for a visit during which I see the doctor for only 15 minutes. Well then, what is the reason for being in the FMC system? All we need right now is to refill our prescriptions, something that we cannot wait four months to do. These scripts were written by a FMC doctor, why all the hassle when we just need refills. Oh wait... I was able to get an appointment for the following week to see a doctor when they wanted me to have two expensive test procedures. Oh wait... we were also told of a new FMC policy. Patients are now required to see a FMC doctor TWICE a year, whether they need to or not or else they go back to being NEW patients again. Florida Medical Clinic system seems more concerned with the bottom line of money making than in any real concern for their patients' health.

PLEASE READ before choosing this clinic!…read more I'm sharing our experience at this walk-in clinic to save other parents the stress and potential danger we faced. My child was seen by Brittany Ortiz, NP, on January 31st, and the lack of professionalism and medical accuracy was deeply concerning. Hygiene Issues: I had to personally ask the NP to put on gloves before she touched my child's open wound--a basic safety protocol that should never be overlooked. Medical Negligence: My child was prescribed respiratory medication for a skin condition. Because of this incorrect treatment, the condition worsened, leading us to the Emergency Room the next day. ER Intervention: The ER physician confirmed the original prescription would never have worked for my child's issue. They immediately started the correct treatment. Misinformation: I was told a recommended soap was "online only," yet I found it on local store shelves immediately after the appointment. As a parent, I trusted this clinic, but the care we received was unacceptable. Please be cautious if your child is scheduled with this provider.

Hint: If you do go, you can make the appointment online and save some time and your place in line…read more The clinic sign-in program (onsite) told us it would be a 40 minute wait when we checked in. Actually closer to 90 total. When I tried to present my insurance card to the screener, she (very nicely) said to just wait and the NP would take that info. 45 minutes later, I get a text saying to be ready within 30 minutes or we will lose our place in line. I go back inside the store ... and wait another 45 minutes. In fairness to the staff, these automated timing systems suck for everybody involved. We get called in, and ... they don't accept this flavor of Florida Medicaid ("It's one of the few that we don't."). She made a call to a nearby clinic, who, after a few minutes of chit chat ... also doesn't accept Sunshine Health, but will see us as a courtesy for $35. (Man, I miss Germany). (I guess I called the same clinic later, because I got the same response and the same rate ... in 30 seconds.) Glad the kid only had a moderate issue, and wasn't miserable the whole wasted time. Speaking of wasted time, would it kill y'all to put in guest wifi?

We waited for 30 minutes and they took one person, which means we had one person before us. We waited another 10 minutes and realized there was no way they would see us before lunch. We were also concerned because everyone waiting was not wearing a mask and coughing without covering their mouth...even the pharmacist. We cancelled our appointment and went to buy something from the store and there was no employee at the register. The self-checkout was also super slow and had no receipt paper. NEVER coming here again!!!
