When it comes to a GP surgery, I would hesitate to make any form of judgement based on the first visit for registration. That said, we humans are quick to generalise.
Having moved when our last practice was merged, my wife, daughter and I have been with the Wellesley Road practice for a couple of years now, and from our past experience of three other London practices over thirty or so years, this by far comes up the best. That is not to say it is perfect; that is not a term applicable to a healthcare practice.
Now retired after a full stint, I do have my share of health issues, and although nothing too serious yet, the quality of attention and care I have received at this practice; from the receptionists, and the nurses and of course most importantly, the doctors, have been very good, and the best between the practices we've been with. My wife who still works as a senior manager and our daughter who is a post graduate student, are in complete agreement.
Of course there has been the odd occasion when one would have wished it could have been a little different, but each time it could have been the pressure of work; and indeed, this is an extremely popular and busy surgery.
From our experience so far, we would like to say, 'Well done, Wellesley Road Surgery, and thank you.'
I can see from previous comments, that where they have been constructive complaints, the practice appears to have tried to find solutions. and there are some very positive things achieved. With the UK having the least number of GP surgeries per 1000 population compared with the rest of Europe, it could be that finding solutions to the more common problems such as waiting times, is not always possible. read more
