My 94 year old mom had a short 2 week stay to basically recover from imbalance in potassium and sodium levels that mimicked a stroke, but as soon as levels were balanced she was good. She didn't need much PT or OT and could get to restroom on own. So i cant speak to those needing more help than that. i do know that everyones experience in rehab is different depending on how serious their health issues are. Janae and Leontyne were tremendous in their care. Andrew who runs the bistro was fantastic! The food was so good. It was all made there Lots of choices were given and you could substitute for something differnt The facility is clean and beautifully designed. Our only complaint is that she had Room 602 which backed up to the game room. The noise was very distressful to my Mom. I was told the nurses moved the games to back up to another wall, but that didn't last long. read more

My 86 yo mother had a 2 week stay at WellBridge of Grand Blanc following hip replacement surgery. She also had a couple of other medical issues going on. I was not familiar with the facility, so I went to view it in person before allowing her to go there. I had seen the many poor reviews and spoke honestly about these with the Director and Director of Nursing. They informed me that the facility was under new management from the top down and would appreciate the opportunity to give us a great experience. I am an RN and planned to be very hands on with my mom's care, so since the facility was lovely and very clean with friendly staff everywhere, we made call to stay there. There were a few issues with one CNA that had to be addressed and a couple of not getting the meal she ordered, but everyone was very responsive and made things right. Mandy NP, Shanda the Director and Shawna the DON came through whenever I had questions or issues and my mom loved getting visits from the Chef! Never underestimate the meal choices, quality of food and desserts to boost a patient's morale and give them something to look forward to when working hard to recover. Just don't think you can put someone in a care facility and not be involved, not be there and not show them the love and care they showed you from birth. They deserve that. I would use WellBridge again, for sure. My mom is doing great!! read more

My 85 year old mother went here after being released from the hospital from covid, pneumonia and a UTI. It's a beautiful facility, but there are way too many beds and not enough staff. The staff is rude. Some of them wouldn't even speak to us. And some of them were snippy and short with their answers. Almost every visit, when the call button was pushed, no one came to my mother's aid until at least 15 minutes later. That was after my sister had to go searching for someone. My sister also asked "did it normally take this long"? The reply was yes. My sister also asked "what happens if my mom falls out of bed"? The aid couldn't answer the question. The next day, my mom fell out of bed. They had to call us and they were not sympathetic at all. Not even an apology. We asked how long was she on the floor and they couldn't answer the question. I will never put another family member in this place ever again!! If love your loved one, you won't either!! The seniors that are there are helpless and are scared. They don't deserve to be treated this way or even ignored when they need help. read more

The staff were kind and for the most part patient with my husband. However, when his insurance company decided his health issues didn't warrant 24hr care and that he would soon be released no one from the facility saw it fit to call me, his wife and inform me of what was going on. One of the main reasons my husband was first admitted to the hospital and then to Wellbridge was because his oxygen levels kept bottoming out. When this happens, he becomes very confused and doesn't fully understand everything he's being told. Even when his oxygen levels return to normal it takes weeks for his memory/brain function to return to normal. He didn't fully understand why he was being sent home and didn't realize he could have appealed the decision, so he signed the consent form to agree to be released... I work full time and could not be there 24/7 to know what was going on... But a simple phone call, putting me on speaker phone so I could hear and understand what was going on and help explain it to him so he would have understood completely would have been nice. I learned what was happening on a Saturday afternoon, too late to reach anyone. Monday morning when I picked him up, I questioned the staff as to why I wasn't contacted and was told firstly that he was his own person and could make his own decisions and then stated they asked him if he wanted them to call me or did he want to call me himself and he responded that he would call me. Well, he did call me, he didn't know why he was being released and he didn't mention that he could appeal or that he only had so much time to do so or that he had signed the release papers. By the time I got off work, drove to the facility and read the paperwork he had missed the deadline to even file an appeal. The answer to that was well 9 out of 10 times the appeal is denied anyway. My husband is a worrier, and by not contacting me you sent him into panic mode which did not help his health at all. So, while this facility is beautiful and well-kept if you are unable to be there every day don't count on being kept in the loop... All it would have taken was one simple phone call... :( read more

Do not send your livedcone here! They are only about the almighty dollar....not enough staff yet they keep accepting more patients. My mom was told to push red call button if she had to go bathroom but to go dedicate and urinate in her bed and they would get to her when they could???They forgot to bring her breakfast and lunch the first 3 days? Gave her Pepsi for drink after I specifically told them she just got out if hospital due to dehydration causing her to fall? Pepsi? She haf a PRN for a breathing treatment 2 times a day she never got one in a werks time and sge has COPD? She had one shower in 3 weeks???and that's because I complained to Administration who assured me things would change! NOT! In the past 4 days during my visit I found 3 pills on the floor ....2 by the door where they keep medicines in safe on Wall and the other by walkway into room? I found a nursexand told her I found this pill by the door and ahe just shook her head and said"She threw it in the trash and said " Does not surprise me" Did my mom get her right amount of Meds? Such poor judgement. I am a special education teacher and if I was to have dropped medication on the floor I would have been fired on the spot! This place is absolutely notbthe place for anyone especially the elderly...one lady across the hall was literally crying and screaming for water...no staff came...I actually tooj care of her! I am going to call the state on this place tomorrow ! May be a beautiful building but beauty does not help people! read more

While I wish I had great things to say about WellBridge, that is not the case. I had a relative that was on hospice staying at the facility during COVID. The facility was nice and accommodating in the beginning but I quickly found it difficult to get in touch with any staff. During COVID times I was unable to see my relative - rightfully so. When I decided to pay them a window visit, I was expecting to see a smiling, healthy relative, but I was met with a bruised, bloody and dirty relative. There was clear evidence of a situation that had occurred and no one in the family had been notified. NO ONE. Upon realizing that something was extremely wrong, we went to talk with my relative's head nurse. We had to wait 45 minutes before the nurse finally came to talk to us. We were given a false claim of what occurred - that my relative had fallen the night before, which I didn't believe for a minute. The bruising on my relative's face and the dried blood made it obvious that the fall had occurred more than 24 hours ago. An investigation was opened and we continued to get mediocre responses. The story goes that my relative had fallen out of their bed 2 nights prior to me stopping by the window to say hi. We were told that we could contact an employee that was high up in rank whenever we wanted - which became a problem as they stopped responding. After more pushing we were notified that my relative "no longer met the hospice requirements". We were able to transfer my relative to a MUCH better location - do your research!! The main takeaways from my post that I wanted to highlight include: - the facility is not following the Nursing Requirements that are put in place by the State of Michigan. Relatives are to be notified immediately when an incident occurs. We were given a lie, followed by an excuse that quite frankly I don't believe. The bruising on my relative does not match up with the excuse that they provided - falling on a breathing unit. - not following COVID guidelines. I watched several (and I do mean several) nurses lower their masks and raise them ONLY when they were going into the patients rooms. No wonder there have been outbreaks of COVID at WellBridge. - as soon as you raise concern about the care of your loved one, they will immediately point the problem on the patient and do their best to kick them out of the facility. I will do everything in my power to make sure my relative NEVER ends up at a facility such as this and they will never be sent back to WellBridge. read more

My wife broke her hip in a fall in our home in October of 2019 and was rushed to Genesys Hospital for surgery. After being in the hospital for several days, she needed to go to a rehab facility. I had no idea where to send her and I was shown a list of facilities by the nurses in the hospital, so I decided to check some of them out. In talking to my wife, she didn't want to go to Regency on Hill Rd, because her mother was there for almost 90 days and my wife didn't like the care she received there. I went down stairs at Genesys and looked at their facilities, but I was only shown part of the unit, not realizing that there was more to be seen. Had the staff had a better attitude and had shown me all of the facility, I would have certainly taken her downstairs; they acted like they didn't want to be bothered. I decided to go for a walk along the walking path that surrounds the outside of the hospital and I came across Wellbridge. I decided to go inside for a visit and I was fooled by the new facility and how clean it was. WOW! They even had a friendly staff; I was in awe. Well, guess what? My wife ended up over there for no more than 2 weeks and here is what happen: Messy pants every morning Hungry and not taken to the mess hall in a timely manner. When she couldn't get herself out of bed, thay brought her food to her, only after they served the people in the mess hall first (those that could walk, or wheel themselves down there). During breakfast, lunch & dinner, all staff members were called to wait on tables and serve food, LPN'S, nurses aids and maybe 1 RN (didn't see many of them). Why was all the help taken from their work stations? Because, they were very, very short of help, especially nurses aids. So whats the big deal? Well, those that could not get theirselves ready had to lay in bed with soiled diapers until everyone else was served in the dining room, then they decided to bring her food and she still had soiled diapers. They would clean her and then she would eat cold food. With my son being a doctor in Ann Arbor, he ordered me to get in there in the early AM to help her and that I did everyday for 2 weeks (12 to 14 hours a day, missing work, etc.) Each day, she begged to come home, but I was unable to lift her without help. I would get there in the early AM, clean her up and wheel her down to breakfast, lunch & dinner and sub with her at a cost to me. They have a system in place, which is impressive at first sight and that is when a patient pushes the help button, the aids run in there and shuts the light off and says she will be right back - 15 to 20 minutes later they come back. She nor I could wait that long and I would help her to the bathroom, before it was too late, what a scam. Who do they think they are fooling? The nurse in charge. I only saw an RN by request and only LPN'S serviced her. I never once saw a doctor MD, but a doctors assistant. Physical therapy was a big disappointment: No matter what they did for my wife, they were always looking at their watch. She was allowed maybe 30 minutes of exercise and that included their time getting to her room and getting her ready to go down to their gym. Bottom line, she didn't get much exercise. When 8 PM rolled around, I was tired, worn out and wanted to get home; she begged me to stay and sleep in the same room with her. Great! Where would I sleep? On the floor, because there was no bed for guests. A kiss good night and a prayer with tears in our eyes and off I went, with guilt in my soul. After 2 weeks of pure hell, (they did everything they could to talk me out of bringing her home - I had 100 days of full coverage) I brought her home and took care of her with hired help until she went home to be with the LORD on January 5, 2020. Wellbridge could be a good place to go, if you can walk, or get yourself ready in the AM and wheel yourself down to the mess hall. Other than that, I would not recommend it to anyone. read more
