I just wanted to warn others to NOT go to Maxwell therapy in Flint or Grand Blanc. We have been bringing our fostercare kids here for their speech, OT, etc for over a year. Never had a issue before. Staff has been great and are good teachers. However after today we will never go back. I will never tell anyone who asks if I "know a place" to go here. I will tell them how they do not support local families or their fostercare community. This is why. Went in for our appt a little early and asked if the person before us had cancelled. It was snowy and icy so I figured I would ask since we left really early to not be late and now were 30 min early. The person did cancel so they let us be seen right then. All good so far. Then the lady at the front desk (who was very nice during this whole thing and who is in no way responsible) said my foster sons insurance was not active for today's visit. We are in the process of adoption and I was told at the beginning of last week by the healthcare liasion that the insurance was temporarily off due to the state switching it over for adoption. This is common and it was fixed last week. I explained this to the employee to just rebuild it because it should be working. She said it also looked like the last visit at the end of December was also not paid yet. She explained since she couldn't find his insurance listed I would have to pay out of pocket for today's visit. The health liasion for state of Michigan has told me NOT to pay for any doctor/visits because of the mess/issues it causes. If we did pay today that she would be unable to reimburse us. They can only send payment to the office directly when kids are in this short adoption limbo. It only lasts a month but that anything we pay out of pocket for (for any reason) we will not get back. She said If I could get a bill she can have it paid but only if I don't pay. I explained this to the lady at the desk and she said she would have to call the office manager. She talked to "Leslie" the office manager and was told that I still had to pay before we left today. Now by this point the child had only been back 10 minutes but I was told I would still have to pay for the visit and again it had to be TODAY. The office manager refused to let us be billed even if it was to be paid in 7-10 days! Which the state of Michigan health liasion was offering. The health liasion talked to me again (she was off today for the holiday but still got back to me because she was upset this was happening). She explained the office should have NEVER taken the child back since he is a Medicaid foster child unless they had approval. That it was their mistake but that we were trying to make it right anyway. She said that the state would pay for this visit but that I needed to be billed. If I paid then I would NOT be able to get reimbursed. Again the office manager refused. The real kicker? The child was in the back less than 15 minutes total and that was WITH the teacher coming out to have me take him to the bathroom. So he has less than 10 minutes with her today! I ended up cancelling all appointments we had scheduled for the up coming weeks and canceled the 2 new foster kids appointments that were to start next month. So over this they just lost 3 patients just out of my house. I talked to the state of Michigan health liasion after we left and she explained she was very upset that this practice refused to bill us and had never seen this happen before. Ever. She has been doing this for several years for hundreds of kids/cases all over the state. I talked to a few other foster parents and they agreed it was common for insurance glitches but had never had any doctor, specialist or therapy demand they pay before they leave. Not even specialists who's bills were hundreds of dollars. They all billed them and most gave 30-60 days. We offered to make sure they were paid in 7-10 days. That was not good enough for the office manager. So that being said I highly advise no one to go here. They don't support abused and neglected children or the families who work tirelessly to get them all the help they need. We have always made sure they got paid and never had an issue. I guess coming here for over a year with no issues ever on payment mean nothing to this practice. All I wanted was to be billed for today's 1/2 hour visit. It was made very clear by their actions this place only cares about money. I am truly disgusted by this place and will tell my story to all I know. read more

After dealing with the withdrawal from my bank twice monthly for one visit monthly and final resolution, my massages were great with Amy. I had begun with Fran while in rehab. I continued for more than two years until a young, immature, opinionated, very offensive practitioner was available for my appointments. Unlike before, my stress, tension and discomfort were greatly increased by her verbalized personal political and social positions. Finally, half way through the last session, I expressed my dis- pleasure, sat up, dressed and left. I was totally appalled at the lack of professionalism and decorum. I was referred here by my PCP for physical therapy. Both therapists I worked with were wonderful and my symptoms resolved. I've also had massages from two different therapists, and they were both AMAZING! I recommend this place highly. read more

Don't know how the massages or other services are, because my appointment was cancelled ten minutes beforehand. I was given literally ten minutes notice with the excuse of a "flat tire". Obviously, the massage therapist didn't call in ten minutes before the appointment. It was most likely a scheduling issue as the receptionist balked at finding me an appointment time two days prior, noting that the time she told me "should work." I went with it, even though I had a bad feeling about it. Sure enough, once my babysitter had arrived, I received a rude phone call with little sympathy. No offer for a discount, or to reschedule, just a surly attitude. Probably not the best business practice to cancel on a first time client. Needless to say, I will not attempt another appointment and will be sure to advise my friends to stay away. read more
