The facility called us saying my grandmother was found unresponsive, and they were calling the ambulance. A few minutes later, they called back saying "never mind, she is responsive now. We think she was unresponsive due to the position she was in (slumped over in her wheelchair)." My father requested she be put in bed, and some of the family went up to check on her. We found her still in her wheelchair and still unresponsive. She was unable to open her eyes, she couldn't speak, etc. Had we just taken their word for it, my grandma would have never been medically treated. Additionally, my grandmother waited over an hour in the rehab unit on several occasions when she hit her button to use the bathroom. Then she ended up being put in room where the button didn't work, and she had no way to request for assistance. We met maybe two people that actually cared for her and took good care of her. P.S. be warned, when they say they have nurses on staff during evening hours, they do not. It is aids only, and if you want your loved one to be seen by the doctor, forget about it.

She loved spiritual programming with Laura. Moat of all she enjoyed her apartment with housekeeping services. She claimed she was never going to cook again after moving in and she didn't. On site Dr visits when needed were the icing on the cake. when her health declined and she went out to the hospital she came back to rehab. unfortunately the end was near and she passed away comfortably supported by family and staff. 7/31/2025 Review…read more#523 My review is for Associated Orthopedists of Detroit at their 2nd office in St. Clair Shores. This is my backup location when Dr. Bookout knee specialist is here on certain days other than the Shelby Township one. I turned and twisted my right knee this time (April it was the left) and within 24 hours it was swollen with fluid. The receptionist here was kind enough to fit Me in on Thursday the 17th for My urgent visit. The check-in office staff is quick and efficient with ID and Medical cards of information. I also was glad to complete the text message online sign in and check in the morning of My appointment. Holly is always the nurse that will prepare and assist Dr. Bookout for the arthrocentesis painful procedure. Yes for Me and My nerves its uncomfortable even with a shot to numb. This visit this time was 4 months ago as with the left knee. He drained 100ml of synovial fluid which I was glad there was no infection. 3rd shot was of course cortisone to help the right side of my knee to recover in 4 days so I could return to Physical Therapy for hip and back injury. In conclusion, this office is clean, well organized with appointments, Ex-Ray machine down the hall for knees, hands, back, shoulders and other bone related injury or fractures. Most insurances are covered and check out is easy with Rita at the window who is efficient and pleasant to answer billing questions too. Hours are listed in the photo I attached. This office is located on Little Mack Ave. at 10 Mile Rd. There are several other Orthopedic Doctors that practice here in a highly professional and understanding medical practice way. Appointment day I waited two hours to see the doctor in the most uncomfortable chair..my back was already in pain and I was getting irritated. The doctor comes in shoot from his hip just to tell me that I need physical therapy. Great! He left the room and told me to wait for referral for physical therapy 15 minutes passed and I just walked out the door.

Instead, she said as long as you're here let's do some different stretching. She tied a band around my good leg, my good foot, held it tight and told me to turn my ankle without turning my leg, I told her it was hurting all the way up to my thigh. She said that's OK. You're using muscles. You haven't used before. She continued to do this regardless of me telling her it was uncomfortable and I was getting a Charlie horse in my upper thigh. We did this for one minute One Direction one minute the other direction pulling against that band that she was holding tight. When I left and went to get in my car, my knee was bothering me to step up into my car by that afternoon. My knee was aching and by that night, I could hardly walk. I have an appointment this morning with the orthopedic surgeon as it has kept me awake at night and I can't walk my dog. She's done something to my good knee that didn't have a thing wrong with it before I came in would never recommend this place!

Empower Therapy "Empowers YOU"!! After my evaluation appointment, my very first physical therapy…read moresession was magnificent! Coming in at a pain level in my lower back at 1000+...it was (WAS) that bad. When I left after learning exercises to work at home with, my pain level was about a 5! Not bad after my first visit of therapy. I am now at my 6th session, pain level 0.5! I rate it that because I am still learning to 'empowering' myself. Raj, Reenu, Lindsay, & Barb are wonderful therapists. They really want to know HOW you feel, what your pain level is, and also ask you if you would like to try different exercises or pain therapy (such as Dry Needling). I have had dry needling, and it really helps my personal situation. The therapists will ask if you are afraid of needles. Since I am not, I can tell you, Dry Needling is not painful but very helpful. They are not really 'needles' but very fine filaments that I had inserted into my lower back. It has helped break up the stiffness in my lower back. I must say though, that if you mention another pain, they will try to ease the pain. I mentioned that I couldn't turn my neck much, Raj came in and worked wonders on my whole back (it's all connected, you know), well, I can stand straight, turn my neck. With that therapy, even my lumbar back has eased my pain to a 0! If you need physical therapy, I highly recommend the Metro Parkway site to visit for your back pain. And I say this place 'Empowers You;? I have learned good, gentle exercises to do at home. That is "YOUR" Empowerment. You now learn how to bend, pick up things and do your exercises that help you live a pain-free life! Wow! Amazing!!! I can brag all day long about these wonderful therapists!!

This is not the place you want your elderly family member to be for rehab. My 94 year old mother…read morewas there after a hip fracture, surgery, and a 10 day hospital stay. Prior to her fall she was able to walk with a walker. After 10 days in a hospital bed, she was very weak and barely able to stand. The Bellbrook rehab staff was not very patient with her (despite saying it could take up to a year at her age to recover from her injuries) and after a week decided that she was fearful and unable to stand or walk. She is now totally wheelchair dependent. After being at Bellbrook for 3 weeks, she was told she had to be discharged - despite insurance authorizing her to stay for another week! Discharge planning was abysmal. The care is safe, but not family centered. They do not include the family at all, insisting that family members leave the room, "while they provide care". I suppose if you would like to drop your loved one off and not be involved with their care at all, this would be ok, but it was not ok with me.
