White blood cell red blood cell and vitamin D. She said the only Blue shield database they had was Florida but that I am covered. Long story short I've received a bill for $900 for routine bloodwork that I didn't really need and was unnecessary. The vitamin D alone was $350. It turns out that Blue Shield according to my policy does not cover out-of-state routine bloodwork, and only emergency room visits. I have pleaded with quest to lower the price down to what it would be under Blue Shield, which would be about $60 but they continuously refuse and have sent my bill to collections. Although I live in California, I'm considering filing a complaint.
