I had a very poor experience at this barber shop. After my appointment, I had to leave to retrieve…read moremy cash (my chip was not working) and returned maybe 5 minutes later. When I came back, I politely raised a concern about my haircut, specifically that he did leave a noticeable bald spot that I do not have. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the barber immediately became defensive, argumentative, and dismissive. Rather than listening or trying to understand the issue, he flat-out denied any problem and insisted that my hair was "thinning," which was both inaccurate and unnecessary. (All I did up to this point was mention what he did) I explained that I am very familiar with my own hair and would know if my hair was thinning, I want to also mention that I'm 21, but the conversation continued to be met with resistance and attitude instead of any willingness to resolve the concern. He then insults me saying "your hair is thinning everywhere". At no point did I raise my voice or act disrespectfully--I simply expected a reasonable, professional response. The interaction ended with me being waved off without any attempt to acknowledge the issue or offer any form of resolution. I'm not sure if it was because I'm Hispanic or if he's just a very upset human being. Other than that, the haircut still sucked, the lines weren't straight, you can still see the lines in my hair that he didn't fade out correctly, he also cut too much off the top.

They have great decor, nice waiting chairs, 2 big TV's and much preferred over SportClips. Ashley used to be at SportClips, which is an overpriced barber shop, 25$ for a haircut, and you have to wait forever there. But at Muskingum barber shop it's cheap, quick, and really greatly cut. You get a feeling of relaxation, with this nice little barber shop. 5/5 stars, this is the place to go for haircuts in the area. The only thing I would suggest to the owner Paula, is getting a Square paying system, because you have to pay with cash, and it's kind of out of the way in the modern day tech world, where we use cards for everything.

There was no wait when I got there with my 2 children and 3 women working. The one heavy set lady kept stopping in the middle of cutting my sons hair to help the other lady look up Barry Manilow on a laptop computer, pet dogs that someone brought in and chit chat endlessly (apparently she doesn't multi task well). It got so bad that I finally had to say, "I realize how important Barry Manilow is, but if you don't mind finishing, my son is running late for work." The phone is constantly ringing for personal calls that they are taking. If you want a decent haircut, they can give you one for a decent price. But don't expect them to get you in and out of there in a professional manner. They apparently think you're time is of no importance. This attitude cost them their tip on my end.
