Save your money and go elsewhere. Thursday evening, I called this salon and was able to get an appointment for the next day. They sent me through a booking website to secure my spot for the next day, and they just put me with whatever stylist they had available. I wanted a trim and long layers added into my hair, but it turned out to be the worst haircut I've ever received.
My appointment was at 3pm and I arrived at the salon at 2:45. My stylist was sitting at the desk and took me in as soon as I got there. Everything seemed to be going fine until she started to cut my hair. First off, I came into the salon with my natural curly hair. My stylist DRY CUT my hair. She didn't even bother spraying my hair with water or anything. Anyone knows that curls can be deceiving while cutting them. Second of all, I was in and out of the salon within 10 minutes. Now, I'm not a hair stylist in any way, but I'm smart enough to know that no hair cut should be that short. Anyways, she gets done cutting my hair and turns my chair back around to the front and asked me how it looked. Now, I'll admit, at the time I said it looked fine, but I also couldn't tell because my hair was curly. Also, I feel like I should be able to trust my hair stylist because all I wanted was a simple trim and layers.
I paid $25 for the haircut and gave her a $5 tip. $30 total was wasted that day and it wasn't til I got back, that I discovered how TERRIBLE she did.
When I got back, I decided to straighten and style my hair. As soon as I straightened the first few pieces, I could tell something was wrong. I straightened all of my hair and it was absolutely awful. My layers were all over the place (pictured below) and my hair was an absolute mess. How could something this simple be so messed up?
I immediately called the salon and told them what happened. None of this I could tell at the salon because my hair was curly. I took pictures (with time stamps) to document what had been done to my hair. I was on the phone with the salon and told them everything. They told me that they would give the owner my phone number because I had wanted a refund. Upon speaking to the receptionist, I wasn't given a "sorry" or any sort of apology. Not to mention, the phone call was unprofessional when I was supposed to be "put on hold" but I could hear other people talking, and they just set the phone down. As well as the no apology, they immediately started naming off other stylists to "recut" my hair. At this point, I was never ever going to come back and get my hair cut. I told her I wanted a refund.
I've waited a few days to hear a call from the owner, and I haven't received one yet. I checked my voicemail and no messages have been delivered. I told them that I wanted a refund and they said they would need to put me through with their manager. At this point, I believed I wasn't getting one which is very upsetting.
The same day, I was able to go to a different salon and get my hair fixed. I explained to them the problem, hoping just to schedule an appointment, but they just happened to have a cancellation and could get me in right then and there. They fixed my hair (pictured below as well). I'm thankful for what they did, and how professional and understanding they were.
Friday, I walked into the salon expecting only a "trim." That day, I walked away with 5-6ish inches of my hair cut off because of the what this stylist did. The second salon I went to had to cut off some of my length so that my layers would blend. That is 5 or 6 inches of hair that I'll never get back.
Moral of the story, I'm beyond frustrated with this salon. From the terrible hair cut, to no apologies from anyone, to no response from the owner. I'm extremely frustrated with my experience and will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. My hope is that no one else goes through the same experience that I went through. read more
